    Sox vs Twins. 9/15 - 7:10

    1) I'm always impressed by how fast the social media teams get these up on twitter 2) that's almost the exact same spot TA hit to a couple innings ago

James McCann is an essential employee.

I seem to remember him throwing several mph harder than he's doing right now, so if he's better than this... I mean...

So is this kinda what Dunning will look like as a finished project, or is this a proto-version of him that's still got some development to do?

    2020 Celebrity Death Thread

Chadwick was obviously more than the T'Challa character but that role was such a cultural touchstone and carried so much weight. The man spent his last 4 years creating iconic art knowing he wasn't long for the world, suffering in silence. Sigh.
  7. These guys have become my favorite broadcasting duo since... I dunno, Hawk and Wimpy in the 90s? Nothing compares to Hawk's "You can put it on the board, YES" as far as play by play calls, but besides that Jason and Steve are everything you could want. -Openly pro-Sox but objective about the game, not overboard with homerism -Informative about what's happening in the game, skills/capabilities of players, what scouting reports say etc. -Entertaining banter, playful roasting

    Steve/Jason appreciation post

Yeah, "he hits this one to deep left field and it is GONE!" is kind of generic. It's not bad or good. It's just kinda there. But again, for 30 years Hawk's home run call was iconic so that's a pretty tough act to follow.

    Steve/Jason appreciation post

Steve's really dry but Jason brings the humor out in him in a way that never happened when he was paired with Hawk.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER

Jose Abreu is playing out of his mind right now. If he was playing a full season this is probably about a 45 home run pace (mathematically, 12 home runs over 31 games is 62 home runs but I know baseball doesn't actually work like that). So fun to see him actually hitting in a lineup where not only does he not have to carry most of the weight, he's maybe the 3rd or 4th best hitter.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX NO HITTER WINNER

Giolito was one of the very worst pitchers in baseball 2 years ago. Look at him now. Also Tim Anderson gets shit on for being a butcher in the field, and it's mostly justified, but he came through with one of the highlights of the season.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX NO HITTER WINNER

Lucas was so amped, he was ready to throw his next pitch as soon as McCann caught it
  13. James is going to want someone's starter money and he's earned the shot to get it, and he is not going to get that with the Sox

Ok seriously, who here made this video?

I remember thinking Ryan Bukvich was also as bad - Jesus no, not even close, Day had WHIP well over 2. That 2007 bullpen is the worst one in my memory, the starting pitching (except Contreras) was mostly passable but after 6 innings if the Sox didn't have a lead of at least 5 the game was over. If there's inherited runners ALL of them were going to score, plus a couple extra. All them had a ERA well over 6, it seemed like. Day, Bukvich, Macdougal, Wassermann, Sisco, Myers, just look at any of those guys, pick a randon name and look up their stats and it's awful.

    Stone targets RR?

This reminds me of when he ended his broadcast career with the Cubs, although he was way more direct back then than he's being right now.

Leadoff Man going forward - TA or Robert?

I look at this lineup and I'm like "Moncada probably a .900 OPS player and he's fifth?" and... well yeah probably, that checks out
