    Sitting in first period art class, my first week of high school. We heard it on the radio. I'll never forget that eery silence afterward. The rest of the day was frantic, disorganized. I remember trying to understand the magnitude of it at the time. How could I? "Tower 1 is down. The Pentagon." Watching those faces on TV, my life would never be the same again. The weeks after were different. People actually cared about each other. Suddenly we were all pulling in the same direction. It hurts me to think about it sometimes. About the people trapped in those buildings, the military vets never coming home. It hurts me even more to see us regress into ignorance again. Maybe for one day we can stand together. Be proud of our strength and humble for our freedom. Maybe that day is today.

    You could also look at it from a marketing/promo perspective. Having a minor league in the area would give you another local outlet to market your big league club. Cheap ticket prices encourages families to attend, building interest in the team/players at an early age. I see your point, but if the Sox are contending year in and year out, I don't see much of a threat. The Blackhawks survived the lean years when the Wolves were winning championships. Winning draws. Period.

    One of the best bats in White Sox history. A class act guy. A poster boy for this era of White Sox teams. A plus ball picker with an at worst, still decent bat.

     

    ... and we get to see him etch his place in Sox history for 3 more seasons.

     

    Economic value and player comparisions aside. The fan in me loves this move.

    If I'm not mistaken, manny doesn't play day games after a night game, so he'd only play in one of the next two anyways.

     

     

    This entire philosophy is such a joke to me. The sense of entitlement with some professional athletes makes me sick. God forbid you go the extra mile to help your team in a pennant race.

    Win me the next 3 series, and I'm all in. Realistic shot at 7-2(ish?) next 9 games. Tigers have been playing well, Twins win last two in PHI. Still have some work to do! Get within 4 by the break.
