  1. Or, thinking positively, maybe it will feel up some cash for them to absorb a Kimbrel contract and then we can get one of their extra backup catchers, perhaps Reese McGuire, in return.
  2. Vaughn to DH (Should be Eloy, but that doesn't appear the be possible), Sheets on the bench, getting occasional starts at DH and LF. But also completely fine with Sheets getting traded for an SP.
  3. I didn't realize Gardner was out there. Obviously a lot less sexy than Conforto, but he would come cheaper and probably on a 1 year deal, and is somehow still a 1.5-2 fWAR guy late in to his 30s, and remarkably healthy for a speed guy. I'm at the point now where I would actually be fine with that. Platoon him with Engel if you must.
  4. My wife used to have TMobile and I feel like they do it like the Tuesday before Opening Day. They wait until the very end of ST, I think.
  5. Yea, that's the conversation I was alluding to last night, false alarm and all.
  6. I can't tell if this is a serious question? If so, then a lot. He's broken a lot.
  7. Yea, I forgot they have a DH slot now and Muncy would be their DH. I was putting Muncy at 2B in my head still.
  8. Ah, honestly forgot they have a DH spot now. I was thinking Muncy was their 2B. Yea I mean they could still use Lux at 2B and DH Muncy. I'm just trying to fit together puzzle pieces based on Robert Murray saying the Dodgers are trying to shed payroll to get a closer and if the Sox aren't going to get Conforto, then getting back an OF in a trade of Kimbrel would make sense. In the middle of the podcast he got a text hearing Pollock was scratched from today's ST game and he immediately assumed it was a Pollock for Kimbrel deal and was getting ready to break the news, that's why I asked what the opinions would be if it happened. Obviously turned out to be a false alarm.
  9. Sure they do. Their 4th OF (Chris Taylor) is better than our 3rd OF. He's a 3 WAR bench player for them right now.
  10. Not only is that an insane take, but also if Pollock has a $10M player option for 2023, or a $5M buyout, he would only be exercising that option if he doesn't think he can make more than $5M in 2023 as a free agent, since taking the opt out gets him $5M of that potential $10M contract in 2023. Sure, there is a chance he could become a $20M commitment for 2 years, but I think the odds are a lot, lot higher he's a 1 yr/$15M deal, which would obviously be offset by the 1 yr/$16M deal Kimbrel has, so he wouldn't be limiting any financial flexibility whatsoever.
  11. Robert Murray says the Dodgers might be looking to shed payroll to add a closer. That would accomplish both things, while getting the Sox a right fielder, albeit Pollock has only played CF and LF. But even though Pollock isn't a RF, neither is Vaughn or Sheets, so that's already an upgrade no matter what.
  12. What was you guys think of a Kimbrel for AJ Pollock type swap with the Dodgers? 🤔
  13. I watched the highlight of Sheets knocking in Robert from 2nd and at least once and maybe twice in that same clip they refer to Luis as "Roberts" with an s. Like come on guys....he's one of the biggest young stars in this game. Maybe figure out what his name is?
  14. My thoughts too. The only reason we are all assuming Kimbrel needs to go is because we are all assuming the Sox won't sign Conforto with Kimbrel on the books as well. But if we miss out on Conforto....then absolutely no reason to trade Kimbrel *just because*. I kind of wonder if that's what's holding up a Kimbrel deal. That maybe the Sox feel the same way, it's one or the other....but it doesn't have to be neither.
  15. Yea I agree. She only does herself and her legacy a disservice by letting people know what kind of person she is.
  16. The Conforto anti-covid-vax thing is an interesting wrinkle
  17. That first link just seemed like an opportunity to copy and paste the same article about Rowling since then last time a HP title came out. The 2nd article is written by someone who somehow thought the reveal video was boring, clearly with a score to settle based on their feelings about Rowling "It’s an open world, but we never get to see much of it, and despite chucking us around to practically every location on offer, only the Room of Requirement and the optional dungeons look interesting. We see nothing that even resembles a good boss battle, likely because the combat is so boring, and the lesson portions of the game look to be disjointed affairs that gamify basic functions like pouring potion in ways that will quickly grow tiresome. The plot, meanwhile, revolves around the anti-Semitic caricatures rebelling, and seems to cast the hero yet again as a Chosen One as Harry Potter struggles with the same issues of Star Wars, in that its impossible for a nobody to be a somebody. They have to be born a special somebody. Considering the stereotyped minorities, gender essentialism, and a Sorting Hat that defines your entire life by the person you are as an 11-year-old, it’s no surprise Harry Potter stories continue to reinforce the idea you can only be special if you were born special." 🤦 And the 3rd article doesn't mention the game at all. I'm just saying I don't think the controversy about Rowling is going to threaten the chances of this game being released, just maybe the sales from those who have been turned off of HP because of Rowling, which I suppose could affect future releases or DLC updates if the game doesn't sell well I suppose. But like I said, the Fantastic Beast movies continue to churn out during all this controversy, so I'm not worried about the game being threatened.
  18. I think the video game is disassociated with her enough to not have to worry about backlash. I don't recall any of the Fantastic Beast movies facing boycotts or bad press over the past things that Rowling has said on Twitter.
  19. They need a lot more than Montas or Manaea. They need about 3-4 bullpen arms, at least 1-2 more SP and more position players. Look at their roster, it's not good. Correa gets them to .500, maybe?
  20. Are you guys mad about this? Why? Twins aren't good and this keeps him away from playoff opponents like the Astros and Yankees. This is good news for the Sox, especially if it makes them pony up for Conforto now. 🤷
  21. With an opt out after each year for Correa, there is no chance to count on him staying for 3 years unless he's bad.
  22. He probably wanted the Yankees and they decided to wait, so he is going to give it another shot next offseason. If he has a down year, then he opts back in for another $35M season and tries for a good team again. He gets 2 more bites at the apple and if he struggles he gets a $35M/year cushion. This seems like a good deal for him to me.
  23. Nightingale confirms. This is actually hilarious. I would rather have Correa with the Twins (they suck) than the Astros, and he will almost certainly opt out after the first year, or definitely by the 2nd one. I kind of can't stop laughing at the Astros for this. 😂🤭
