  1. Could be a nice brisk wind blowing out tomorrow night. Floyd's gotta keep the ball down. Wednesday should be great day game weather. How about 15 runs in KC, and they come home 4-1?
  2. What would be wrong with a split in KC? Nothing. Come home 3-2, and have a 6-4 or 7-3 home stand. That would be great.
  3. Fine. Ozzie's dumb. And the Sox will not be going wire-to-wire, as the Royals just took 3 of 4 from the Angels.
  4. It doesn't work often, but you have Vizquel and Pierre hitting behind Alexei. I'm just chalking it up to non-execution more than a bad managerial move. But if he decided that he would never call for a bunt unless it's for one run in the 8th or 9th inning, it wouldn't bother me either.
  5. Too bad the Sox aren't playing the Royals tomorrow. They're going to the 13th inning. ...and the Sox dream of a wire-to-wire season is on the line.
  6. I'm going to give Ozzie a break. If Alexei gets the runners over, chances are he comes back with Omar trying to do the same thing with a squeeze play. And if that worked, everyone is happy. Alexei just didn't get the job done in a close game where Danks and Masterson were both pitching well. Now if it was Vizquel and Pierre on 1st and 2nd, I wouldn't want Beckham to sacrifice with his live bat and Dunn and Konerko coming up behind him.
  7. Mental note...stay out of game threads after losses.
  8. Peavy threw 59 pitches in a simulated game today. No problems.
  9. Temps should be in the 60's in KC. I hope that warms the bats back up. Thursday at home...53 with a chance of showers...Isn't that every Home Opener?
  10. Long season. You can question the bunt with Alexei, but I think today was more about Masterson. He pitched a real good game, and Danks made a bad pitch at the wrong time.
  11. Yep, it's official. He's going on the DL, and he could be out up to 3 weeks. 8 games with Tampa, and the Sox might miss him all 8. Reminds me of 2005 when the Sox seemed to catch teams at the right time...either missing their best pitcher or a player hurt. If rotations hold, we'll also miss Price when the Sox go to Tampa. Twins will miss him four games too.
  12. Longoria is out at least a week with an oblique injury. So at the very least, he'll miss the first couple games of the White Sox opening series.
  13. Hopefully the rain/snow moving in will be light enough to play through. They better not play two innings, and then have a long rain delay or something. That would suck for Danks.
  14. Probably more likely to see the "Sunday" lineup on Wednesday, when they face Francis. Day game after a night game, facing a lefty. Wednesday we'll see Milledge and Castro I'm sure...and probably Dunn at 1B.
  15. Cool. Might have to check out Hudson face the Rockies later.
  16. ^ Well played. And the first game after the All-star break.
  17. http://twitter.com/MDGonzales/status/54279866811559936 Ew.
  18. Good game. I don't know how that ball Rios hit didn't go way out. That wind must have been something. I'm sure Ozzie will play Vizquel at 3B tomorrow. Other than that, I don't want to see the classic Sunday lineup after winning the first two.
  19. I'm a uniform snob...I'll admit that. I'm big on home whites and road greys. If I was the uniform czar, I'd limit alternate jerseys to road teams on Saturday's and home teams on Sunday's. Every other game would be home white/road grey (or whatever shade). And definitely for opening day and the postseason, they should always wear their main home or road uniform.
  20. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Apr 1, 2011 -> 12:50 PM) Let's all hope we shipped that problem to New England in a pretty big package. I wonder if their fans know he sucks against the Orioles yet.
  21. I don't care if they lose. It's a long season. Just don't lose like the Brewers and Cardinals did yesterday. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Apr 1, 2011 -> 12:29 PM) If you are not anxious and nervous on Opening Day you are not alive.
  22. Hawk will talk about the great, Shin-Sin Chew.
  23. The Sox play the Rays 8 games in April, and the A's 10 games from April 11- June 12. I'll accept splits from both, but hopefully the Rays are a slow starter this season. The A's scare me because their starting pitching is tough, and they could be tight, low scoring games.
  24. If the Sox and the rest of the league somehow get as lucky as they did last year with no rain: 4-1 Buehrle- Carmona 4-2 Jackson- Carrasco 4-3 Danks- Masterson 4-4 4-5 Floyd- Hochevar 4-6 Buehrle- Francis 4-7 Jackson- Price 4-8 Danks- Shields 4-9 Humber- Davis 4-10 Floyd- Niemann 4-11 Buehrle- Braden 4-12 Jackson- Cahill 4-13 Danks- Anderson 4-14 4-15 Floyd- Santana 4-16 Buehrle- Kazmir 4-17 Jackson- Weaver 4-18 Danks- Shields 4-19 Peavy?- Davis 4-20 Floyd- Niemann 4-21 Buehrle- Hellickson
  25. Maybin with a 2 -out game tying homer in St. Louis.
