  2. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ May 9, 2012 -> 10:17 PM) Outside of Scherzer, all of those pitchers are having a very fine year Very true. And they're all due to have a bad start. Who knows, maybe Sale will be back in there, and then Danks and Peavy start at Wrigley on Saturday and Sunday. Those better be wins.
  3. Half of the season series is over with Cleveland. I'll take 5-4 right now. Need to beat them at home in a couple weeks.
  4. After this weekend with Humber and Stults, the next five games look like: M: Danks-Smyly T: Peavy-Scherzer W: Floyd-CJ Wilson R: Humber-Jerome Williams F: Stults-Samardjia Without facing Verlander and Weaver next week, it's a schedule that sets up well to get hot. It's an opportunity at least. Humber and Stults could be flipped. They haven't decided yet.
  5. Charlotte- Zaleski (Danks 2 homers) http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?s...tolaaa_chraaa_1
  6. Charlotte finishing up a suspended game... http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?s...tolaaa_chraaa_1
  7. Birmingham won today. Simon Castro had a nice outing. http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?s...tenaax_biraax_1
  8. Here's that Coop interview, or part of it... http://siriusxmsports.posterous.com/don-co...coach-on-mlb-ne
  9. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ May 9, 2012 -> 03:35 PM) And it is equally stupid to ask that question and expect any other reaction. No it's not. Not at all.
  10. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ May 9, 2012 -> 03:04 PM) Is this post serious? Yes. Wood is stupid for thinking a question about throwing his glove in the stands is out of line.
  11. De Aza cf Beckham 2b Dunn dh Konerko 1b Pierzynski c Rios rf Ramirez ss Viciedo lf Morel 3b Off day tomorrow. Maybe Morel's last game if he goes 0-4?
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 9, 2012 -> 12:57 PM) There's really no way that "The kid throwing again then going for an MRI" is good. Sure there is. It's what they should have done last week before they moved him to the pen. Again, we don't know if this is normal starting pitcher soreness, or if he has structural damage. So it's good they're going to take a look, and make an informed decision.
  13. And Sale will get an MRI as well. So that's good. I hope it's clean, and he can go back to starting.
  14. Is he just throwing this out there as his idea, or is this an actual rumor with possibly different players involved?
  15. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ May 9, 2012 -> 11:13 AM) A 23 year old, under team control, should never be in charge of his own career. He's employed by the Sox. How they choose to use him is their prerogative. I think in this case, Sale should have some say. I mean, he was drafted as a starter. He signed early and cheap to get to the big leagues. The plan was for him to eventually start. He was told on the last day of the season last year, to prepare for starting. He did that. He was successful in five starts, and he experienced soreness. Ok, so was this normal starting pitcher soreness? Or my elbow ligament is about to snap soreness? Where's the MRI? Where's the pitch count or innings limit? I just think in this case, Sale has the right to do what he wants.
  16. Sale should be in charge of his own career. As long as he's informed, given options and possible consequences, then it's on him if he gets hurt. If he says today that he wants to start, he should do it. But if he does start, then the Sox have to monitor it and manage him in the way they see fit...as a starter.
  17. Wood owes that reporter an apology. Of course he has to ask about the glove throwing, and Wood should know better.
  18. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ May 8, 2012 -> 09:42 PM) Oh Kerry Wood you are fun to watch. Wonder if he makes it to the end of the season, or he just hangs them up soon.
  19. I like how Reed keeps showing them and showing them. Are they watching? Has it become clear yet?
  20. Crain will throw Wednesday. If all goes well, he'll be at Charlotte on Friday and Saturday.
  21. The draft is about 4 weeks away. Here's some clips of the top players... http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/prospects/watch/y2012/#list=draft I saw one mock draft with the Sox taking a high school pitcher. I doubt that happens at #13, but who knows.
  22. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 8, 2012 -> 11:57 AM) Other than emotional attachment, which is understandable, there would be no reason to not be on board. PK is not 28. He's 35. He will not be with this team by the time they're ready to compete again. If you could get some legitimate assets, you do it. And he deserves to play for a winner anyway because he's so god-like. He's 36. I love what PK is about, but there's really nobody on this roster that I'd cry over if they moved them. Obviously, guys like Reed and Sale aren't going to be moved. But they need to move on without Kenny Williams, get some new thoughts in there, and let the bad contracts die off without handing out new bad contracts (see: Danks, John).
  23. It looks like they're giving Beckham one last shot at the 2-spot. Might as well.
  24. I don't even want to watch this one. I'll check at 9:30 and hope Danks did well, but I can't sit and wacth him get torched while Masterson shuts out our crap offense.
  25. Quintana's player page has a nice video package from yesterday if you missed it. http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/team/playe...l='ALL' I mentioned it yesterday, but he reminds me of Wilson Alvarez in his delivery. Very smooth. I hope he gets back up here real soon. Wonder what happened with him and the Yankees org?
