7/28 Sox/Indians Double Header thread
supernuke replied to southsider2k5's topic in 2020 Season in Review
I'm starting to regret my MLBTV purchase. Hope something turns around. -
I would prefer each Park installing cardboard cutout fans.

Zack Wheeler: To the Phils (5yr 118); Sox had made BIGGER offer
supernuke replied to Soxnfins's topic in Pale Hose Talk
It seems to me that Wheeler probably told his agent to gather final offers last night or early today then chose the one he preferred and signed the deal. In the end his desire to be close to family/stay in the NL/stay on the East coast was more important to him then the extra $2-7 million. -
Damn, I was hoping the site was broken due to something big happening.
-
How much of those second half numbers are due to his abysmal month of July? I don't think August ans September have been that bad for him.
-
Long lost twin, separated at birth maybe? Is it possible you were cloned in a top secret lab?
-
Well, I was laughing to myself as I typed it so I understand. He seems to be having a rough patch right now but if he can get control of his delivery I think he will get back on track. It is still a little early to determine if he can be an ace, but the potential is certainly there.

The first half was obviously a mirage. They should be trying to sell a contender on those first half numbers and trade him for a huge haul.

Will Nick "The Little Magician" Madrigal be called up this year?
supernuke replied to ron883's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I think we would need to consult "The Little Hurt" Craig Grebeck to determine if this is factual. Also Madrigals walk up music needs to be Strange Magic. -
This just made my day. Too funny.

Service time will likely be a major sticking point in the next CBA. Young players and their agents are realizing teams are not going to give out those sweet contracts to guys in their 30's anymore so they need to find a way to get paid earlier.
-
This glove thing is obviously done at Lozano's request. Trying to get the Padres to up the offer. Sorry, stirring the pot.
-
If you wanted to sign him on day 1 without him checking in with other teams you would have had to offer something that would have broken the total dollar and AAV records for sure. Maybe even a record for total years.

The print is really small.

According to my source, Manny Machado will sign with the White Sox on January 16th, 2029. Terms of the deal will be one year $20 million.
-
Machado: Update - Manny, do you officially like us?
supernuke replied to Chicago White Sox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
What do you think has the Sox not liking their chances? Is it that they don't feel they can beat the other offers financially, that they don't feel they are a desired location or both? -
Ahh yes, ncorgbl. The greatest poster in soxtalk history. I too unfortunately missed the story of his demise, I was quite upset when I came back to the boards and found out I missed all the drama.
-
My guess is that they will finish their meeting with Philly tomorrow then tell the teams who are in it to make their best offers on Friday. A decision will be made over the weekend and White Sox fans will will get an early Christmas present on Monday evening.

Julio Franco disagrees.

Watching the videos I still think it is his left hand that hits the box and his right knee hits the wall. QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Dec 21, 2017 -> 10:41 AM) No, he hit the big, shiny metal box in the lower left corner of your screenshot.
-
QUOTE (ptatc @ Dec 20, 2017 -> 04:12 PM) I would agree. Not impossible but highly unlikely. Could the injury happen from impacting the inch or so of concrete wall that appears to be exposed above the padding on the wall?
-
It looks like there is about an inch of exposed wall above the padding. Possibly that is what the knee hit?
