  1. for the record, 25 teams passed on trout, INCLUDING the angels. (they had the pick above him as well.)
  2. I like anderson, but the sox should have been calling the mets or giants the second the Correra deals fell apart.
  3. Most SXM plans include the app access now. If you are paying for it in your car, you likely are already paying for the app too.
  4. if he held out a few more years, and not sold to cablevision, the sox would be in a different place financially. NESN was a diaster fo rteh red sox until it went to basic cable. and Fenway Sports Group owns four teams in four sports, and its financed by NESN fees.
  5. White Sox baseball: enjoy our last attempt of competition before the next white flag trade!
  6. His dad plays golf with jerry. #job4lyfe
  7. 11 million reasons over the next two seasons he stays with the sox. Pedro will likely have a full time job for Leury after Rebuild 2.0: This time we mean it! is underway after july 31.
  8. Exactly. He is under investigation, and according to the cba, can't face team discipline until after the investigation is over.
  9. the likely scenario is they would just release him. a player can't be suspended or "sent home" for an extended time without a reason. and if they can free up a roster spot as a result, they would do so. as long as he gets paid the amount of money he is contractually owed, and is not denied the ability to work, the union wont interfere. that's what the dodgers did with bauer after his MLB suspension was terminated.
  10. I wish he just stayed away like his father in law, Greg walker.
  11. Sad considering we used to get 20 tv games a year
  12. So you DON'T know this, then?
  13. The naming rights money did not increase. US Cellular paid a buy out fee, and that reduced the payments from the new sponsor. That's state money. But the deal that GR underpaid was the partnership with the team directly. The sox never got the money from the naming rights. The only brokered the deal.
  14. I'm not sure what you can get for a "presented by" sponsorship, but likely in the 500k-1 million range per year. enough for maybe a rookie or bench guy. the 7-11 deal for the game times was 500k a year for three years.
  15. You’d only see something if they sold out of FSE(full season equivalent) tickets. And they haven’t done that since 2006
  16. Three possible outcomes: 1. espn/Disney buys back the RSNs below what they sold for. And we see them migrate to espn local networks. 2. FOX rebuys the RSN network below what they sold to Disney. And go back To fox sports insert name here. 3. MLB buys the RSNs and rebrands.
  17. The trump tax laws have greatly decreased cap gains as well as inheritance taxes. Jerry wins no matter what, but the win will be bigger after he passes, as his family would only face taxes on the portion he actually owns.
  18. Jerry answers to the board, but has operational control. This is per his contract dating back to 1981, when he owned 5 percent of the team.
  19. I don’t know what the $ was, but yes. The Sox deal with GR is less than what wintrust offered. again, the actual naming rights money doesn’t go to the Sox. It pays for the 2003-2008 renovations that gave us the name US Cellular Field. That original deal would have ended in 2026, but the Sox and ISFA agreed to a three year extension(with another non guaranteed year in 2030), to make the moving parts work. The payments go toward the bonds issued in 2003. the deal that the Sox care about is sponsorship above that naming rights deal. And brooks hooked his brother in law’s employer up.
