2019-2020 NCAA Basketball thread

Alan Griffin makes a lot of dumb emotional decisions. Another reason why bringing him off the bench is the right move at this point, IMO. -
So different that he turned white and changed his name to Matt Moore

Illinois first 6 big ten games were all against KenPom top 35 teams. Record 4-2. I figured Underwood had the team trending upward going into the year, and here we are. -

Agree with this. There are only two above average 3 point shooters in the rotation (Frazier and Griffin) and it just makes more sense to stagger them a bit, Griffin still gets starters minutes and can close games out. The shooting should be a bit better next year with the additions of Hutcherson and Adam Miller. Good sign that Underwood is making a strong all around roster. -

Agree with this. Real time I was shocked they let it play on. Thought it was incomplete as it happened. -
Who the hell is saying they would cut or trade Miller?

Kofi is so damn impressive. Unbelievable. -
So many this year.
-
Their inability to stop the run is the main difference between this year's defense and last year's defense. Losing Hicks was just so massive.
-
Is it really 60? I understand dropping him off in coeverage sometimes, but 60% is insane. Do you have a link?
-
It's amazing how many opportunities for interceptions there have been this year that they just can't come up with. Two already today that they probably would have come up with last year.

You should still be excited. His original timeline was January and decided to commit earlier than that. Illinois fans have been burned by Gordon and Snider in the past, so I get it, but this is pretty awesome news. -

I read that was the case early on, but by the time he hit campus everyone seemed to be shooting for 2 and done. Maybe that changes with how he's performing, but I don't think he's leaving unless he's a first rounder and guys like him are just hard to place in today's NBA. -

Kofi is a monster. -
Khalil Mack doesn't appear in the stat sheet. 1 sack in his last 6 games. If he's not hurt this is not good.

Interesting article: https://www.nbcsports.com/chicago/bulls/bulls-offensive-system-working-and-math-backs-jim-boylen The Bulls are getting almost 89% of their 3s open to wide open, but converting on 31% of them. Lauri, for example, shot 43% on wide open 3s last year. This year he's at 25%. If the Bulls just start shooting like they're capable of, maybe they can turn things around.
-
He should be given the rest of the year no matter what. Then they'll know. Chase Daniel is trash and in his 3 starts he lost to the Raiders and Giants. He's not changing things.

You > Shaheen.

The best is Bears get 5 yards out of I formation on the first play and then immediately go away from it. Nagy the offensive genius.

If the rumors of the Whitman-Antigua thing blow over, this guy might be the best AD in a very long time. -
https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/28021754/barnwell-ranks-best-qbs-never-reach-super-bowl-philip-rivers-no-1 Cutler #8 on the list. Really sad the Bears wasted that guy.

If this year goes like some people expect, the Underwood hire might have turned out to be an absolute grand slam. -
That was one route play. It was a bad throw by Mitch, but an absolutely atrocious play call too.
-
Crazy how much of a difference Hicks appears to make on that d line.
-
Nagy needs to relinquish play calling duties.
