  1. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Sep 5, 2008 -> 08:36 PM) Let's get Linebrink in tonight. Second
  2. Nice recovery MB. Side retired, 2 runners stranded
  3. Official word from the team here: http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/news/artic...sp&c_id=cws
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 5, 2008 -> 09:45 AM) It was said in the usual cutesy doublespeak and and lack of respect of referring to Palin by a lesser title. That's a reach. Please show me where she was referred to as "Mayor Palin." The Dems have referred to, but have in no way similarly mocked, her mayoral experience.
  5. Palin said community organizers don't have "actual responsibilities." I don't recall the Democrats having said that with respect to small town mayors. What they have said is that those mayoral responsibilities don't necessarily prepare one to be president or VP. The same doubtless is true about organizers' responsibilites, but to say they don't have any to begin with is a HUGE difference.
  6. That list almost writes itself according to electoral magnitude. Ohio first (historically its an absolute must have for the GOP, and I think he will get it). Then the southern states listed, with an obvious emphasis on FL. I think IN is pretty safe, I would skip that in favor of CO and NV.
  7. "My friends, if you find faults with our country, make it a better one. If you're disappointed with the mistakes of government, join its ranks and work to correct them. Enlist... Enlist in our Armed Forces. Become a teacher. Enter the ministry. Run for public office. Feed a hungry child. Teach an -- an illiterate adult to read. Comfort the afflicted. Defend the rights of the oppressed." Just don't become a community organizer after leaving college. My surrogates will mock you mercilessly.
  8. Permit me a slight hijack, but Jays beat Twins 5-4 in 11!
  9. QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 03:07 PM) I want to see pictures of her from 20 years ago. Um, that's it, that's all I got. They're out there. Here's one I've seen a lot: http://wonkette.com/219635/gilf-update-gov...as-miss-wasilla
  10. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 02:17 PM) It's Open Mic Day on MSNBC. WOW! (Some language here, so be careful) The voices are Mike Murphy (Republican political consultant) and Peggy Noonan with a little Chuck Todd. Church Todd: "Was she really the most qualified woman?" Noonan: "no... I think they went for the political bulls*** about narratives". She added: "It's Over" for McCain. This must somehow have been fabricated. I have heard that only the liberal media is deriding this pick.
  11. I think Carlos deserves and should get league MVP honors, but Bad Bobby Jenks is right up there as team MVP.
  12. QUOTE (SleepyWhiteSox @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 02:16 PM) About how many pitches was that for Bobby? 10
  13. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 10:08 AM) With the playoff roster deadline passing, they didnt really have a choice True, I see your point as to why he was activated. Handing him his job back over a semi-hot Uribe when Joe hadn't hit in forever though was a different story. I guess I just would have liked to have seen Joe hit in the minors before he sent Uribe back to the bench. I'm bothered that Ozzie doesn't seem to think hitting in the minors is needed to get playing time in a pennant race (See Owens last night and Josh Fields, starting DH, today).
  14. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 09:49 AM) Saying he was rushed back from a rehab assignment isnt that simple at all. He had surgery late in the offseason, started the season slow in ST, popped in April-May, and now is back to square one. Maybe he was rushed at the beginning of the season because he is showcasing for next year, and it started the downward spiral that got him to where he is now I'm certainly not a doctor, but in this instance, given that this particular rehab assingment had already been aborted once (on August 1st), I don't think its too much of a stretch to say that activating him after he played only four games in Charlotte following his epidural was a rush. Of course, we'll never know whether that contributed to or had anything to do with yesterday's flare-up, but I never said it did.
  15. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 09:37 AM) Its not that simple. We don't know anything about his rehab regimen or what the docs and trainers knew. In any case, this sucks. Crede's career may be ending here as well, which would be really sad. You both miss my point. Uribe was playing well in Joe's absence. Joe went a mere 2 for 16 in a short rehab assignment in Charlotte, and only went 3 for 19 since coming back up. This is a pennant race, and right now, believe it or not, Uribe is a better third baseman than Joe Crede. Joe shouldn't have played unless he was the better option. He couldn't and didn't show that. Your right though, this sucks regardless. We've likely seen the last of Joe in the Silver and Black.
  16. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 09:30 AM) They rushed Joe? Yes, his rehab assignment in Charlotte lasted how many games?
  17. http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune....-future-un.html Uribe was filling in well. They shouldn't have rushed Joe back.
  18. I think it was an error, but I'm not sure how I feel about them possibly changing it back. Part of me feels, "that's baseball," but on the other hand I realize that these hit/error calls can be and are often changed by official scorers after the fact, when much less is riding on the line. Its a shame though, because even if its changed to an error (correctly imo), there's likely to always be a taint or stigma of controversy associated with CC's game.
