    Alright begin

Why are we doing this, exactly?
  2. QUOTE (Knuckles @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 04:18 PM) Hahn says when talking to scouts name that comes up the most: Lenny Dykstra EDIT: Fixed! Well, Lenny certainly was a "dirt bag." I like what Hahn is doing.
  3. I found this quiz amusing (and difficult). I only got 60% correct: http://extramustard.si.com/2013/12/09/ikea...y-players-quiz/
  4. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Dec 6, 2013 -> 03:36 PM) Women be crazy. Those women are the ones that will be crying on their couch ballooning themselves up with Ben and Jerry sobbing about being lonely. This is a generalization but from my experience it seems women really want to have their cake and eat it. I laughed to myself when I read "cake."
  5. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 8, 2013 -> 09:05 PM) Always nice to play Florida. Q says he doesn't think Coreys injury is serious., but we all know how it goes with hockey injuries. He looked pretty hurt. I'm worried.
  6. That deal is like what, $70M more than what NY was offering? Plus, Washington has no state income tax. That's a mega-difference.
  7. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 4, 2013 -> 10:58 PM) Tie. I blame Illinois. That's fair, but I blame the nation's #1 team that played at home.
  8. Greg Doyel is kind of a troll, but I've been wondering this same thing : http://www.cbssports.com/general/writer/gr...buckeyes-do-not
  9. In the run up to a Justice League movie, Wonder Woman is joining Batman in the Man of Steel sequel: http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/movies/...-movie/3869533/
  10. Hawks have had Dallas' number lately, but I can see the "first game back from a long road trip" cliché playing out tonight.
  11. Where are everybody's B1G/ACC Challenge predictions? I'll start: Illinois @ GT Indiana @ Syracuse Penn State @ Pitt MI @ Duke ND @ Iowa FlaSt @ Minn Maryland @ OSU WIS @ Va NW @ NCSt NC @ MSU BC @ Purdue Miami @ Neb
  12. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 11:46 PM) Ran the program into the ground? Did you see what he inherited from Ron Turner? You were there then. Look at what Turner inherited from Tepper. The program has been in the ground several times, Zook didn't ruin some blue blood football program. Plus, you are ignoring the most important fact: I agree with LittleHurt re the Zookster. Sadly, 3 bowl games (1 BCS) in 5 years plus hilarity and barefoot water skiing awesomeness is good enough for me at my basketball school. I go back 30+ years. Bad as he was, Zook was the second best coach Illinois has had since then who didn't blatantly cheat.
  13. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Dec 1, 2013 -> 01:42 PM) So assuming he gets in (he should) Im gonna request a couple days off in Cooperstown NY and go to the ceremony. Any other STers making the trip? I'm thinking about it.
  14. BTN's "Tiebreaker" doc on the 1973 season and the conference's controversial vote to send OSU to the Rose Bowl instead of UM was excellent.

    JFK Assasination

There are nuts who believe almost anything, including Oswald's claim that he was just a "patsy" and not even in the building, let alone up on the sixth floor, when the shots were fired. http://www.veteranstoday.com/2012/11/14/jf...even-a-shooter/
  16. Has anyone used the website "Project Free TV" to stream episodes of TV shows? "Is it safe?," or will it break my computer?
  17. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Nov 21, 2013 -> 11:23 AM) I've read every word that's been written about the case, so yes I know a thousand f***ing percent more than you about it. Yes, it's tragic that she took her own life, but that doesn't change the reality that once it happened, there is no case. Get over it. Go hang around ND's campus and hand out money to players to try and play gotcha. And how many words have I read, genius? How much do I know? Why don’t you answer that since you obviously know so much? She suffered anxiety order and clinical depression; like millions of other Americans. To say that's why she killed herself assumes egotistical omniscience beyond measure, dishonors her, and grossly insults millions of Americans with similar afflictions, myself included. I don't care how much you've "read." Your fandom and familiarity with what's been written in the popular press doesn't mean jack s***. What you wrote about her “snapping” due to her “mental condition” embarrassed yourself and, indirectly. your school. That may be your belief (and you are entitled to it), but is so far from a “fact” that its ridiculous.
  18. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Nov 21, 2013 -> 11:17 AM) No, those are facts. I feel bad this all happened, but the reality is that's what happened and once it did, the investigation is over and there's nothing the university can do. I'm sorry that the facts of the story don't fit right in with your hatred for Notre Dame, but that's too bad. And you know these "facts" not because you are some hyper-domer-homer, but because you were both her treating therapist, her coroner, and are an empath capable of divining her mental state. Yeah, I totally get it.
  19. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Nov 21, 2013 -> 10:21 AM) The victim has a mental condition that caused her to snap and commit suicide. That isn't on the university. And investigating it becomes pointless once the victim is dead. It's hard enough to prove anything with a cooperative victim. This post is disgusting.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 18, 2013 -> 10:42 AM) I am going to have to get ahold of Bugliosi's book. I am very interested now. It's almost as long as the Warren Commission report.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 18, 2013 -> 10:16 AM) The more I have read and seen, the more I agree with the Warren report. A lot of the basic assumptions that have gone into conspiracies have been blown up over the years. (such as the "magic bullet" and not being able to get off three rounds in the time described) I think the tide really went for conspiracy with Oliver Stones JFK, and since then, there has been a ton of interesting research done that really has pushed my belief back to the Oswald did it alone theory. Same with me, and I've come completely full circle from what I used to think. For me, it boils down to the fact that the conspiracy theories are all predicated on coincidences (although there are many; lots of which are legitimately eyebrow-raising) and point in different and conflicting directions (Mafia, CIA, Cubans, KGB, etc.). However, an abundance of the actual EVIDENCE points to Oswald acting alone. The scholarly books by Gerald Posner and Vince Buglosi go over all of this evidence in detail (Buglosi's painstakingly so). I enjoy his movies, but Stone in particular is a bozo.
  23. Take Andy Kaufman off the board: http://www.cnn.com/2013/11/14/showbiz/andy....html?hpt=hp_c3
  24. QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 14, 2013 -> 07:03 AM) It almost feels like when I listened to the OJ verdict in high school. You're confident it will be one decision but there is a possibility you'll be shocked when it's the other. Disclaimer: I'm in no way comparing high school recruiting to a double murder. "If Groce's offer is legit, Cliff must take it." Lame, I know. I'm no Johnnie Cochran, or even a Jackie Chiles.
