No offense, but saying anyone is going to win the World Series three years out is pretty stupid. Regardless, I’m not sure the timeline has really changed. 2019 was always going to be a development year. Guys like Moncada, Anderson Giolito, & Lopez could take massive leaps and change the entire equation of the rebuild. There’s a non-zero chance that guys like Jimenez, Kopech, Burdi, & Hamilton are impact players fairly quickly and speed things up. Then there is the ultimate wild card that is free agency. Point is we have no idea how things will look a year from now. 2020 can still be part of our contention window.

The Red Sox have nothing to complain about yet. Sale has been as good as you could possibly imagine in the regular season. The only way they’ll have buyers remorse is if Sale doesn’t do something big in October before he hits free agency. I’m not sure the return really matters if Sale leads them to a championship.

Collins just missed a HR off a lefty.
-
WA postponed now.
-
Eloy & Rondon back-to-back HRs. Stephens with three scoreless innings to start the game.

We better hope Lucas brings it tonight! Go Sox!

Kannapolis looks they were supposed to have a double header, but one game slows delayed and the other postponed. WS also delayed. The rain has been brutal lately for our affiliates.

Top 30 White Sox Prospects, Midseason 2018 - FULL LIST

I’m actually higher than most on Collins, but I just feel like Dunning has a very good chance of being a #3 caliber starter in the majors. I think the stuff is a bit underrated around here and he’s got plus plus makeup. If Collins had a better chance of sticking at C, I would have it your way, but reports this year have generally been disappointing in that regard. -
Top 30 White Sox Prospects, Midseason 2018 - FULL LIST

Great work as always guys! The biggest issue I have is with Dunning behind Collins. To me, Dunning is a sure fire major league SP, whereas Collins has big question marks around his defense & some smaller concerns with his swing & miss issues. I know Dunning is out with an elbow injury, but IMO until we hear the words Tommy John he’s the clear #6 prospect in the system behind the first five you listed. -
If we’re doing a prospect for prospect trade, the OFs I imagine being on the table are Basabe, Rutherford, Adolfo, & Gonzalez. So realistically you’re looking at a 3B prospect in the 80 to 150 range best case scenario. The guys that make the most sense IMO are Colten Welker & Ke’Bryan Hayes. Welker is blocked by Arenado now, but even if he leaves the Rockies will still have Story & Rodgers on the left side of their infield. I could see them being very interested in one of four OFs. As for Hayes, it depends on how they view Moran. He hasn’t been great this year, but also hasn’t been terrible. If they feel he can still be the answer, they may be interested in one of our OFs as a potential replacement for Dickerson when he hit free agency after the 2019 season. Admittedly that seems like more of a long shot, but I think I’d like Hayes over Welker simply because he’s further along.

We really can’t afford to trade Lopez at this point in time IMO. We need to start building some certainty in the rotation and he’s closer to filling the #3 spot than Giolito is.
-
Which is why he needs to stop taking first pitches for a strike. Is there an easy way to pull that stat?
-
I agree with the second part. For the most part, Yoan just has to be a bit more aggressive. I’d love to see how often he’s taking the first pitch for a strike. Seems like he’s always down 0-1. And as we all know, he needs to learn how to protect with two strikes. These aren’t even crazy adjustments, but it just doesn’t seem like the coaching is getting better through to him.
-
Looking really bad? We don’t know what Moncada is yet, but Kopech looks like a future ace & Basabe has made massive leaps this year. If we hit on two of three it’s a trade well worth it given where we were at the time.
-
If you can’t understand why the 70 grade, former #1 overall prospect with top 5 tools in all of baseball who was the centerpiece of the Chris Sale trade is so important to the rebuild then there’s more to say here.
-
I think we’ll have that for the most part next year. AAA: Cease, Guerrero, Adams AA: Dunning, Hansen, Lambert, Flores, Medeiros, Puckett A+: Henzman, McClure, Battenfield, Parke A: Pilkington, Stiever, Heuer, Bilous
-
Who has three or four good pitchers at every level out of the Braves? That’s not even remotely realistic.
-
? He’s been worth one WAR already, unless you’re suggesting that’s going to continue to drop. I doubt it gets worse though.
-
He’s got one option left, they won’t be wasting it this year. If Moncada shows no progress by the end of the year, they pretty much need to fire Steverson & Sparks and bring new voices into the organization. Yoan is too important to the rebuild to give these guys the benefit of the doubt unfortunately.

It was a ball, but it was close. Maybe these umps are just bitter Yoan can eat a couple dozen twinkies a day and still look so good. -

Just embarrassing offensive display tonight, especially for all our young guys. Moncada, Anderson, Davidson, & Sanchez were 0/19 with 12 K’s. -

He’a got to protect, but that would have been a tough pitch regardless. -

I think it’s far more likely than ever having ties.
