  2. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jun 26, 2012 -> 10:46 PM) I honestly thought he was pretty mediocre tonight again. It's easy to cherry pick, but there was a lot of trouble in the first few innings, and even the outs were hit hard(Morneau flyout to the track, Span JUST missing a bomb down the line). Solid W, just don't feel any better about Floyd right now. I kinda felt the same way. Also, it seemed like a pretty generous strike zone for both sides tonight. That said, he did have his moments.
  3. QUOTE (Markbilliards @ Apr 15, 2012 -> 04:47 PM) I'd like to see Tank moved up in the lineup. Agreed
  4. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 5, 2012 -> 10:07 PM) GO YOU WHITE SOX!!! I don't care how bad people think this team will do, its Opening Day tomorrow and I'm psyched. I don't post often, but this is my thought exactly, LET'S DO IT SOX!
  5. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 03:00 AM) I agree. The people that act like the White Sox are the most inept organization in baseball really get on my nerves. It's one of the 10 most successful organizations over the past 20 years but some people on this site make it seem like were the f***ing Pirates or something. I'm not blind to some mistakes obviously(Pierre, Edwin, Swisher), but I don't dwell on every single mistake and still cheer for every player on the team, every night. I'm mostly a spectator on this site, and I appreciate all the information I get, but I get sick of seeing nothing but negativity, and I agree 100% with this post.
  6. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 19, 2011 -> 11:24 PM) When you have a WHIP higher than your ERA. You are either doing something really good, really bad, or a combination. His statline is an enigma. It can be done. See David Robertson, getting the job done for the yankees this year. G GS W L SV BS HLD CG SHO IP H R ER HR BB K ERA WHIP BAA 32 0 1 0 0 2 13 0 0 29.1 21 5 4 0 20 47 1.23 1.40 .193
  7. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 18, 2011 -> 03:09 AM) I'd like to see this: Alexei Lillibridge (whether he plays CF or 2B) CQ PK Dunn Rios AJ Morel Beckham Like I said, Lillibridge should hit second for the time being and rotate between CF and 2B. I think he could handle that. This certainly isn't a perfect scenario. But honestly, is there one with this lineup? So many guys are producing at a below replacement level offensively that even the most advanced baseball mind couldn't come up with an ideal lineup. I like it, but here's what i want: Lillibridge LF Ramirez SS Paulie 1B Dunn DH CQ RF Viciedo 3B (at this point I don't care if he's a butcher at 3B) Rios CF AJ C Beckham 2B
  8. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 18, 2011 -> 02:22 AM) Problem is Beckham and Rios are just as bad as JP. I don't want to see either getting the most PAs. Alexei is probably the best option to leadoff at this point. Fantastic. Make it Alexei, bottom line, bring him up.
  9. OK, enough already, bring up Viciedo. Beckham could lead off, or Alexei, or Rios. This is getting ridiculous, they pay the guy millions of dollars, and he does exactly what they ask of him. Bring him up to the big show and inject some life into this team. What's the worst thing that can happen? If it's all in, for god's sake, bring this guy up. Do it right now!! So frustrating.
  10. I've been one of the biggest Ozzie supporters, but it's so glaringly obvious that Lillibridge just brings more to the table right now than Pierre could dream of at this point With Rios coming around, and you have to believe that Dunn's not gonna suck all year. Put Lillibridge in LF every day and let's have a dangerous leadoff hitter, but it probably isn't gonna happen
  11. its hilarious b****in about KW trading away Gio a half decade ago when he'd be our 7th pitcher right now. OK 6th with peavy hurt.
  12. QUOTE (knightni @ May 12, 2011 -> 03:35 AM) I just saw the highlights. How in the world can Ozzie continue to have Pierre starting? He can't hit. He has been poor in base running, and he continually makes poor plays with his glove. I wouldn't mind it at all if lillibridge got a shot at starting LF. He's been outstanding this year.
  13. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 12, 2011 -> 02:25 AM) Peavy averaged 91.35 on his Four seamer, 90.5 on his two seamer. Fastest he got on any pitch was 93.3. I have to say that I'm impressed. He had good control, too. It's good that we have 6 starters who can give us a chance to win every game. Hopefully, Peavy keeps on progressing and he can average 92-93 on the fastball like he used to. He also had a lot of emotion out there. At first on his errant throw where that lil' grinder for the angels was running toward first on the grass (and was called out for it). Maybe I'm making too much out of it, but I loved how pissed off Jake was when they pulled him from the game due to pitch count. Probably not, but maybe he lit a fire under this team's collective behind.
  14. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 12, 2011 -> 01:13 AM) That wild pitch on the intentional walk was hilarious. I have never seen that before on an intentional walk in a Sox game. Lot of heroes has to help team morale. Omar: Big hit and sac fly. Thornton: A save. AJ: 4 hits. Dunn: 4 hits including a bomb. Paulie: Defense. Teahen: Defense with nice scoop by Paulie. Thank you Angels for pissing it away as well, but we've pissed away so many it was good to get one given back to Sox. Paulie's play at the end ... wow. Well said, I'd like to add a couple: Serge: it's easy to omit him because he did what he's been doing all year. Lillibridge: didn't end up needing it, but his Sac Fly was enormous, especially knowing that Santos couldn't come out to close the game.
  15. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ May 12, 2011 -> 12:58 AM) They were just comparing the two on ESPNews and the anchors said "it was in the ballpark". I tend to agree but it won't get the shelf life or public acclaim. Many will never see it (as the play happened on the west coast) plus you are missing the hype of opening day. The more I watch it, the more impressive it looks. It's also a great play by Thornton, but I will stand by my statement. It is funny to see sportscenter flash up the other "top play nominees" for the night. Paulie's play is a no-brainer as far as that's concerned
