  1. This is the key, yes. I was expecting Madrigal up tonight and Mendick over at 3rd, give Moncada four days off, wonder why that isn't the case today. But the Yolmer up to put Moncada on the IL is not something I had considered.
  2. "He hasn't gotten as many days off." *goes ahead and inserts him in the lineup anyway* Cool cool cool.
  3. "Whatever, we don't even care about this series, why do Sox fans care so much about us? They talk about us all the time and we don't care. It doesn't bother us, like for serious."
  4. I love the perspective you always bring, Dick. Well said.
  5. I don't know who it was that said it in the McCann thread earlier today, but I'm already sick of these little league attempts by Contreras to try and frame things 8 inches off the plate.
  6. Maybe this is the cynic in me, but Bauer just screams of the free agent that will come here and have the wheels fall off. And once they do, his attitude and antics are going to poison the well. Indians knew it and moved on. He's killing it now, but I look at him as a huuuge risk, both in terms of continued performance and what he does in this clubhouse.
  7. Why not? Dude was having fun. Our guys now are flipping bats, watching their shots, dancing in the dugout, waving at the camera, and dancing for dubs - I see nothing wrong with Yolmer having fun too. Hell, A-Rod used to run around like a child trying to catch the helmet tossed by whomever hit a walkoff HR and that was for the damn Yankees. https://www.pinstripealley.com/2013/8/13/4616636/alex-rodriguez-walk-off-home-runs-hitter-helmet-chase-gifs Yolmer is fun. This team is fun. I say bring him back and punt Goins into the sun.
  8. Hold on... The main point is that they thought they could get back on track against us, but has Detroit really lost TWENTY STRAIGHT GAMES to Cleveland, or was that the writer's hyperbole?? Really burying the lede there, ESPN.
  9. I'm torn between being annoyed that people keep trotting out the corpse of that trade, but also entertained each time I'm rick-rolled into thinking something is a genuine thread/post.
  10. And then stealing bases once he's on board. The table setting threat he poses is incredible to have.
  11. First 6 game winning streak since April 2017. It the immortal words of jhonnydanks {or whatever his username was}, "don't stop, get it it".
  12. Not sure if this is a brainfart on the White Sox twitter account after posting the left shoulder injury for EE, or if this is genuinely a left shoulder injury? We all saw the wrist being the issue - could it be a stinger from the hit to the wrist that was felt up in the shoulder? I don't get it.
  13. He may have just found it, depending on the severity of Madrigal's injury.
  14. It sounds like the vuvuzelas from the World Cup.
  15. If it's true some of the positive cases stemmed from them going to the casino despite all of the warnings, the rest of players in the league have got to be pissed. Shutting down the season because a few guys were too selfish to follow the rules impacts everyone else too. Lot of players going to lose their livelihood this year because of a handful of guys thinking they're above the game. I'd be livid if I was one of the other players.
  16. This play alone locked up the league-lead for out of zone plays.
  17. If he was slap hitter that only rolls over on groundballs to the same side of the infield in every AB, he wouldn't have been called up. He looks to be the type of hitter to "hit 'em where they ain't" and should be able to make a career out of finding the gaps.
  18. I've also wondered this, but also very curious how the players would react to a 30 year old manager. This is primarily targeted at vets - are there old-guard vets on our team that wouldn't respond well to him? He seems to have the respect from all of the younger players he's managed and that may extend to vets, hard to say. The Hawks have Colliton a shot in a similar situation and they seem to have buy-in from their vets.
  19. Do we, though? Mazara has to be back soon and Madrigal is up, it's not like we need Leury to play all 7 games next week.
  20. It begins. If the league won't enforce the rules for all players, we're going to see more and more opt op until we reach a breaking point. The players will take it into their own hands and force the issue.
  21. Can we update the thread title to be an MLB catch-all of covid updates and how they'll impact the season?
  22. Put anyone up against Shane Bieber and they'll be exposed. I imagine Madrigal will have greater difficulty with a number of pitchers in our division alone. But I'm ecstatic we have a high-contact guy like him around, they can be energizers for a team watching your teammate grind and battle through a 13-pitch AB.
