  1. Good line-up. But at this moment it's hard not to put AJ in 4th and Dye 7th. AJ is swinging the best stick of his career, and unlike Thome does NOT need a hanger to make contact.
  2. Yessir. If Sox win this game in convincing fashion, that Ramirez HR might be even bigger than the 3-run jack by Beckham in Cincinnati that led to a comeback & officially marked the point of season turn-around. But yeah, Buerhle, Conteras and Co. can't have any more of those 5- inning, 5+ run outings.
  3. the "problem" with Buerhle is the unrealistic expectations his fanboys have. And I like the guy, min'cha. Buerhle is a very good #2, has never been a dominant elite-ace. Certainly not for 3 years (2006-2008) going into 2009. Funny thing is, if he plays until he's 40, he may amass HOF-caliber win total. But that STILL would not change the fact that he is not a true ace.
  4. KW is doing his job as a GM. If Dye and Thome don't like it, they could try to, I dunno..... HIT A PITCH THAT'S NOT BP-QUALITY!
  5. Because apparently as rumour has it, while in college Beckham was as close to being a real-life Glen the oversexed Commercial Pilot from the Family Guy (complete with that chin) as we'll ever gonna have. Ergo, great SS.
  6. He's no Chyson Tandler that's for sure, it just goes to show that without that pesky thing we call "pitch-recognition and hand-eye coordination", no amount of "physical" tools will lead to Major league success.
  7. Speaking of Palmeiro..... my g-d, how unbelievably stupid was he?! Manny Ramirez, too, but at least Manny can claim he is chasing a huge contract and/or HR milestones. Whereas Palmeiro could have hit that 3000th hit from a wheelchair in 2005.
  8. I forgets, why were Lance Broadway and Marshall McCluhan chosen back-to-back 1st pick, again?
  9. []His fastball topped out at 94mph How reliable the gun? I hope it's not like Hoover Met --- what with 99 MPH for Aaron "Mike Porzio" Poreda and all.
  10. hell Soriano of this year, I'll settle for. The musculature, not the swinging at 55-foot bouncer part.
  11. O' RLY? Cuz Jermaine's Dye slowly deteriorating reaction time/batspeed/poise that has basically rendered him useless against good pitching in late innings......... and his horrible defense.....................neither confuse nor excite me. Methinks Jermaine needs that "decaf" coffee and a few flinstone vitamens.
  12. As they say in real estate..... velocity, velocity, velocity. If Freddy is throwing 91+, he is welcome back. If he is still throwing 86 soaking wet, no thanks.
  13. There is no need to shop him whatsoever. His struggles at SS have been wildly overstated (just as Uribe and Cabrera were overrated with the glove). He needs to bulk up as Soriano did earlier in career, and continue to gradually improve walk rate.
