  1. Jimmy is averaging 44.6 minutes in 16 games he started this season, insane minutes while having to deal with the oppositions' better or best wings throughout the game. He could be our two guard of the future, Thibs, please ease off the gas pedal on this kid!
  2. I've been keeping an eye on Micah Johnson down in Kanny. 22 years old, a bit old for the league, but off to a good start so far. Based on the sample size this year and last year, he looks like he can get a base and also has above average to plus speed. Anyone has a scouting report on his defense? If he gets promoted to Winston Salem later this year, he's definitely worth following.
  3. QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Apr 11, 2013 -> 04:47 PM) Defensive runs saved by all AL 2B with at least 2000 innings, since 2009 Just one slice of the pie, but noteworthy I think he's a good defender, but that looks like ranked 9th out of all the AL defenders playing full time since 09. That's really not saying much.
  4. So apparently Rock torn the abdominal and adductor tendons off his pelvis in his match last night and had to have surgery today, according to his Facebook page. Get well Road Block.
  5. The real question is will fans boo Rose if he doesn't come back till next season?
  6. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 7, 2013 -> 09:46 PM) Kevin Ware will be back playing before Rose comes back. Haha I thought of the exact same thing last night
  7. WWE doesn't want him to blow Flair's 16 time record out of the water either. That's why Cena hasn't hold the title in almost 18 months, due to Punks long reign. I think at the end of his career he will be a 17 or 18 time champion, barely breaking Flair's record. BTW the Rock Cena match tonight is disappointing, and that is an understatement. I am now officially over Rock because he's no longer able to wrestle a good match, and he's too busy to ever be a full time member of WWE again.
  8. QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 7, 2013 -> 08:42 PM) Unless you're a shareholder or on the board of directors, I don't know why this is something that matters to you From the OP's point of view 1)When I attend games, I would rather be at games with better crowd and better atmosphere, and you would want other Sox fans to cheer with you. Going to games on a Sunday afternoon with >50% capacity feels dead 2)Over the past several years (since attendance decline after 06-07 and economic crisis), I hear Sox fans every where, on the radio, some people I know, and even people on this board using price of attending the game as an excuse. The fans spoke, the organization heard, yet the fans are not showing any loyalty to the organization. 3)People on this board complains too much about an uneventful off season. If this continues, you can complain about it again next off season and the one after.
  9. Looks like Rios is turning the calendar to 2014
  10. Embrace yourself, I love a Derrick Rose return April Fools joke as much as the next guy.
  11. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Mar 31, 2013 -> 05:39 PM) NCAA THREAD I was trying get at Derrick Rose could be further mentally scarred by knee injuries lol
  12. If Rose saw the Louisville-Duke game, how would he react to Kevin Ware's injury
  13. This is random. But just saw on Jimmy Butler's ESPN page that he and I were born on the same day. No, I am not black though. He has now ascended to be my second favorite Bulls player.
  14. Unfortunatelly I watched ESPN's broadcast last night. This is how the Jimmy Buckets dunk should be called. Stacy King has been waiting all year to call a dunk like that.
  15. http://24.media.tumblr.com/13e5e3e03e85b77...yuig7o1_400.gif Just a GIF file of Rose dominating in practice. I do think that even if Rose comes back this week or next week, he should be pretty close to ready in the playoffs, because one he's dominating in the practice, and two he's been doing drills and practicing for a while now. It shouldn't take him as long as other players to get back to game shape again. Also, I don't get all these nonsense that if Rose doesn't come back tonight or the next game, he shouldn't come back at all. We still got like 12-13 games left. Even if Rose comes back with 7 games left, he should be able to play 25 minutes by the time playoff comes. If we can play Rose those kind of minutes the first round, we should be able to hang with anyone in the first round. It also buys him some time to get into better shape for the latter part of playoffs.
  16. If you still need 1, I can join.
  17. BREAKING NEW: There are a couple memes floating around Facebook from a semi credible source that ROSE WILL #RETURN TOMORROW AGAINST THE HEAT.
  18. Another terrible episode of Rock vs. Cena tonight. You would think after two weeks of absence, Rock would do more than come out here, answer a few questions and deliver the same insults to Cena he always did, and predictably lay the Rock Bottom on Cena. Their feud right now is so bad, you can tell Rock just stopped giving a crap about this company.
  19. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 19, 2013 -> 10:17 AM) I love the analysis. Green font? Your original comparison of Rose at 110% to Lebron is unfair. Rose at 22 was a debatable MVP. Rose at 25*110% (assuming you mean he's healthy as well) is a bonafide MVP and 3rd best player in the league. Like I said, there is a glass ceiling for small players in the league.
  20. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 19, 2013 -> 09:56 AM) I don't know if we can just assume top 3-5 player about Rose coming off that horrific injury. I sure as s*** hope so, though. Hell, I'm praying he plays Thursday. Major injury, but it's very common these days. Rubio has been dominating lately, Shumpert seems as quick as he was before. Assuming Rose regains just 90% of his athleticism, with natural progression, improved basketball IQ and jumpshot, will be a top 3-5 player in the league, it's not out of reach.
  21. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 19, 2013 -> 09:22 AM) You tell us these things as if they are not well known. Of course Rose was an insane talent before he blew out his ACL and grew a vagina. I love him to death. However, Rose at 110% couldn't sniff what LBJ is doing right now. Individually no, but team success-wise, maybe. But everyone needs to stop comparing Rose to Lebron. They do whatever it takes for their team to win, but they do that very differently. There is a glass ceiling for small players in the leauge, no doubt. If you make a list of top 10-15 players all time, none of them is under 6'5 This is a slippery slope, but Magic Johnson will not be a top 5 player all time if he isn't 6'9. The point is size matters in this league. Lebron can take it strong to the rim against any big in the league night in and night out his entire career, because he isn't giving up that much in size, that's what makes him special, and the other parts of his game builds off of it. Rose can do the same, to an extent, but he will shorten his career because a 6'3 player cannot take that beating night in and night out. Lebron is a once in a lifetime talent, no doubt. But let's not take anything away from Rose here. Next year, he will be a consensus top 3-5 player in the league. That is also a very special talent right there.
  22. If his full name is Steve Henry Eric, he would put shame into the great Rick Bobby
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 13, 2013 -> 02:40 PM) Exactly. It doesn't bother him enough to actually do something about it. This is becoming a pointless argument. So now you're criticizing him for not telling his brother to STFU, instead of accusing him of using Reggie's mouth to call out the organization, when he just came out and said the organization has done a good job so far. People these days.
  24. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Mar 13, 2013 -> 11:47 AM) Do you know Derrick personally? Because I know I don't. I've always heard he was a class act and family man and blah, blah, blah, but then he did have somebody take the SAT for him so he could get into Memphis. So honestly I really don't know what to think about his moral fiber. Bottom line is that I'm just getting sick and tired of this crap. He really needs to ass out there and play. He's to the point of no higher risk of re-injury and he says he has no limitations. What the hell is the problem? He's never going to have his confidence back until he actually gets out and plays. I think he's just afraid to fail and I don't like that. He's the biggest superstar in Chicago since Jordan, and if I were to ask myself would Jordan being playing by now if all circustances were the same, I know the answer would be yes. Proof? I don't know him personally. But judging from what he has said and done so far in his career, my analysis is far more plausible than what you have thrown out there, which apparently stems from your lack of patience to await his return. Too many people expected him to return by January, or after ASB, and March hits, there's a chance he's not coming back this year at all so people are just getting frustrated because they won't see him play this year. He is physically cleared to play, but no one knows his body except for him. His biggest issue right now is he's not able to put too much pressure on his left knee mentally, which leads to overcompensation of other parts of his body, i.e. hamstring. That's also why he's experiencing burning hamstring after practice. This will actually lead to a higher chance of injuring other parts of his body if this continues on. So while his knee has healed, he needs to be mentally be able to use his knee the "Derrick Rose way" before he should come back and play. People are comparing his injury to Shump Rubio and AP, but just go look at a Derrick Rose jump cut, he puts pressure on his knee far more than others do. If he's not able to do the things he's able do before, then he should not come back. I am one of the few people who actually appreciates his maturity in handling his return. He could have just made decision like any other headstrong young kid and rush back to play before he's fully ready, but now he's making sure he's taking the safe approach for the long term interest of the orgranization and the fan base. Grow some patience man. You will appreciate this when he's fully healthy again in the future.
