You're nuts. No one is expecting him to steal 40 bases in the majors. But stealing 20-25 bags along with great OBP makes him a great lead off candidate. On top of that he can probably stick at a premium position. Guys like Thompson and Mitchell always have higher upside, but there are serious issues with their swings hence higher bust potential. Until they can produce at a consistent level, Saladino will be the more promising and safer prospect.

I think we have been pretty good at developing bullpen arms the last few seasons. With that 97 mph heat, Nate Jones is starting to look eerily similar to Sergio Santos.

I think Saladino might be our best position prospect right now, and I think he can be a pretty good one. He has an insane K/BB rate of 10/2 over the past 10 games. He's not showing as much power as last season, but I think he's trying to hit for contact instead, as evident by his lower K rate. He's on pace to steal 40 bases as well, a great improvement from last season. With the rate that he gets on base, and his improved base running, if he can stick to SS or 2B, he can be our leadoff hitter for years to come.

Does Ventura has a man crush on Santiago? He's clearly not a late inning guy. He needs to be sent down to Double A and stretch out as a starter.

Mitchell with 8 strikeouts in his last 15 ABs. Yikes. Anyone know what is the dimension of Kanny ball park? Kevan Smith hasn't displayed the type of power as expected of a power hitter, and I am still waiting for a game where he simply explodes, like last year.

People are raving about Shoemaker and Black, but no one is talking about this Earley kid. Quietly, he is hitting .425/4/12 with an OPS of 1.303 in his last 10 games. He only struck out 8 time in 78 ABs. His hitting is probably not a fluke, as he did hit .307 in GF last season, it just look like he's developing more power this season. And he's a year younger than both Black and Shoemaker.

The only, ONLY remote possibility I see the Bulls winning the finals is Lebron or Wade get knocked out by the Pacers in the second round. I love Derrick Rose as a player. I wish the best for him. I have friends who went to the same high school with him. I want to see him succeed and become the best in the NBA. Even if he is no longer a part of the Bulls team. If it takes trading him to Phoenix to protect his knee for the next couple of years, I am all for it. I want to see him regain his form and become the fun player I enjoyed watching the last 4 years, even if it means to see him in a Suns uniform. But seriously, can we get JR to sign the entire Phoenix Suns training staff this off season? They have done wonders to Grant Hill, Michael Redd, and Amare's knees, and Nash is still going strong at 38. Time to get rid of this current garbage training staff and get a useful one.

If this knee injury is anything serious, Rose may never be the same player again. He's gone through toe, back, groin, foot, and ankle injuries this season, but the knee is the last body part I want to see damage on his body. Knee injuries has changed the careers of Brandon Roy, Oden, Jermain Oneal, Elton Brand, Mcgrady, Grant Hill, Michael Redd, Yao Ming and so on. As good as Chris Paul is this season, he is no longer the same player he was 3 years ago. And out of all those players, Rose requires his athleticism the most. At least point, I might actually prefer to shut him down the rest of the season to preserve his long term health.

There is complaining, and there is over exaggerating. Some of his complaints are the most well worded. Comments like "I got to be the only superstar in the league to not get any calls" aren't going to win him any media or fan support.

I don't get all the pessimism on Rose. Yes, he has had two horrible games after the injury, but considering he's probably still injured and not in rhythm right now, it is not the time to panic. People just have incredible short term memories, when healthy, he is still an MVP caliber player and still going to improve from here on out, but he didn't lose the ability to play basketball just because of a groin and an ankle injury. The Heat are a flawed team as you can see tonight, and they are terrible against good teams on the road this season. I don't see a reason to panic even if we lost tonight.
