  1. QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 09:51 PM) I just graduated with a BA degree in the human resources field. I also graduated with a 4.0 gpa. :-) Now I'm looking around for an entry-level job in the human resources field. The going has been tough, since I've been looking for a job since November. Any leads? Any tips or advice? Don't bring up your fantasy baseball history. #2006-present And especially don't bring up #FOBL. Keep your chin up, brah.
  2. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jan 18, 2012 -> 02:39 PM) jorgearangure Jorge Arangure Waiting for confirmation from Rob Lowe about Gavin Floyd trade to Blue Jays 5 minutes ago Favorite Retweet Reply I'd more likely trust if Sam Seaborn confirmed it.

  4. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 19, 2010 -> 03:00 PM) I was saying after he got called up if he doesn't play 5 of every seven games it's a dumb move. Should be interesting cause we know Oz loves Omar. If Oz doesn't play Viz a lot, there should be an all out fistfight with Oz and KW brewing. Who wants to lay the odds? I got $15 on Ozzie.
  5. Tradeable assets: Paul Konerko: This is the best time to sell. The Angels are beckoning, I can see us getting Mike Trout, or at least a package containing Mark Trumbo. Rangers could be an option as well (Smoak would be great), likely a package with Chris Davis would take place. If we could get Martin Perez or Holland in a package deal (package on both sides, it could go a long way in the rebuilding process. Lastly, The Brewers could be an option. This is the least likely scenario and would involve Fielder... really just including them because of concerns over their ability to re-sign Prince, though I think Reinsdorf is even less likely to open the proverbial wallet. A.J. Pierzynski: The Rangers could be a potential destination... could be a monster trade if packaged with PK. San Fran could be possible since they are not please with Molina and not confident with Posey's defense (yet). Mark Buerhle: Cardinals would be the best send-off, but in terms of yield-of-return, I'm not certain. He can without question bring in a good package of prospects. Jenks: Frustration alone warrants the trade... this would be closer to the deadline however. Possible trade partners: Atlanta, Philly, Cleveland, Milwaukee. Thornton: It was said in another thread that Thornton has the best trade value of anyone on the team. I don't agree with that, but I could see either New York team being interested, as well as above listed teams for Jenks. Keepers: Beckham Rios Pierre (it hurts me too.) TCQ (for now) JFP Danks Hudson (promotion)
  6. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 08:21 PM) Holy, s***. I just got home and we got CHRIS SALE. This is awesome. The future is starting to look like shades won't be required. Isn't that a bad thing. future not bright?
  7. QUOTE (Real @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 08:02 PM) wow, that delivery looks like something that needs to be watched carefully as he develops he hides the ball perfectly though, nasty His delivery adds deception to his pitches, and being a strikethrower who challenges hitters, that is likely a main factor in his impressive K/9 and k/bb ratios. The deception sacrifices mechanics however, and put him at risk for an injury (elbow.. or more appropriately: forearm).
  8. QUOTE (southsidetony @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 07:55 PM) http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=7243409 Fwiw, I think his stats are filthy, and could be Hamels-esque at his peak. I am however, a pessimist with this team, hence my conerns.
  9. QUOTE (Real @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 07:51 PM) any videos of his mechanics/delivery? http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=7243409
  10. The durability concerns me. I think he can (with seasoning and mechanics tinkering) be a great #2/#3 for the rotation, or an elite set-up man. But I think long term he could be a Brian Fuentes type.
  11. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 20, 2010 -> 11:14 AM) end of discussion. We arent asking him to be a GM, we are asking him to be a scout, which he has excelled at. The end of his NBA tenure really has nothing to do with this at all. Thus far. But I'm done, given you inability to tolerate sarcasm on any level.
  12. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 20, 2010 -> 09:09 AM) Except that Krause's history as a baseball scout pre-dates his history as an NBA GM, and he is been pretty successful in both sports, despite the fact that he "resembles the michellin man"(which has nothing to do with his ability to do the job). Last I checked he wasnt going to become the GM, correct? Only director of intl scouting? Im sure Reinsdorf is worried about his ability to mesh with players and management The guy only has 36 years of experience as an MLB scout, so he must be bad because he is fat, right? http://www.suntimes.com/sports/baseball/wh...cout-11.article Did I say his weight has anything to do with his talent? No. Weight was part of the reason he retired from the Bulls... hence why I want that to happen again. Did he build a great team around Michael? Of course, but I think any chimp working in the front office at that time could have built a decent team around the GOAT. And you can build a dynasty, sure... it's easy when you have MJ. I'm not denying he did a good job with surrounding Michael, I'm saying he wrecked the Franchise in his final years like it was the Edmund Fitzgerald. That has nothing to do with his ability to scout, but everything to do with him as a human being and as member of an "organization" that prides itself on family (Ozzie, KW, et al). I'm not a fan of the guy, nor am I a fan of Reinsdorf. Apologize for the Jerry's elsewhere.
