  1. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 23, 2017 -> 02:00 AM) Leury supposedly lost it in the lights and never touched it so no error Ridiculous. 🙄
  2. Why did Lucas get 4 ER? Shouldn't he get 3ER due to Leury's error?
  3. Dudes hitting .327 in AAA after hitting .306 in AAA last year.
  4. Does anyone know what inning southpaw goes to the fundamentals deck each game? My daughter wants to go see him.
  5. love benetti. hawk "jumped the shark" years ago.
  6. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Mar 9, 2017 -> 05:22 AM) An interesting read is about Trump and Deutsche Bank. Agree 100%. How that's not getting more attention is beyond me. And Bank of China.
  7. QUOTE (greg775 @ Mar 7, 2017 -> 11:54 PM) Since this is the Trump thread, rate his performance so far. I'd give him a 5 out of 10. Despite all the screaming from never-ever Trumpers who would never give him a chance, he hasn't done anything despicable yet, though the new healthcare plan might be even worse than Obamacare. I could give him a 3.5 or 4 after that comes out. I'd give Trump a 9-10 as a businessman. I read somewhere he's worth $3.7 billion. That's a lot of loot. p.s. I'd give Obama a 5-10 as President. As a person I'd give Obama a 9-10. Seems like a great man. Just throwing this out there... years ago my company turned him down for a $40k loan request because his business credit was so bad. There was also a time when no American bank would lend him $. He was "black-balled" industry wide, forcing him to borrow from foreign banks, some of which are owned by their respective governments. Many of those loans are still outstanding and not paid in full.
  8. You want to follow someone in the medical field, check out dr. Aaron Carroll.
  9. QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Jan 23, 2017 -> 06:34 PM) Have you seen Lemonis? Dude is a whitey white guy. He wouldn't get that any more than any other Democrat. Bigger problem: he's not a natural-born citizen. not sure you need to be a natural born citizen to be Gov of Illinois?
  10. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jan 26, 2017 -> 03:01 AM) Direct action/doing something to feel you're actually making a difference >>> raising money you're not even sure will be spent wisely. That's why Bernie Sanders kept his donor list away from the DNC for so long. For that very reason. It's a shame. I've got some good ideas and I hope I'll get a chance to share them. Can't keep running the same plays from the 80's/90's and expect them to work today.
  11. Went to a county dem meeting last night. Was told that it was record attendance. Had to move the meeting into a bigger space to accommodate. First time going to a meeting like this. Actually came away disappointed. The attendees were in the mood to discuss specific ideas. Moderators wanted no part of it. Kept talking about needing to go to other meetings and pimping some fundraiser dinner. I understand it's a marathon and not a sprint but man we're party leaders tone deaf. No wonder we lose elections.
  12. More on Lemonis. Check out some of the personal stufff http://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/10341916
  13. Here's the thing that I think is lost on trump and a lot of republicans. After a very bitter presidential race, where the person who got the most votes, didn't win, this county needs to heal and be brought together. Only trump can do this. It was the same thing after 2000. Whether it was Bush or 9/11 the country came together rather quickly and moved forward.we don't need to agree on everything, but we need to be civil to each other. So either trump needs to do something to make this happen, or something will happen to all of us forcing this to happen, or this country will be in a very bad place 4 years from now. In addition people need to start acting better too. Including the asshole speeding down my sleepy suburban street today, with kids outside playing mind you, in his gigantic pickup truck with trump flags flying and his stereo at max capacity. Can trump be the "adult in the room" and bring us back together again???
  14. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jan 16, 2017 -> 05:26 AM) He's originally from Beirut? What's his story, if you could explain what you like about him in one paragraph or less...? He did run for office a long time ago. I just like the fact that he "appears" to be a compassionate businessman. Seems wise and has good business values. Would love to see him run so we could see the non-scripted part and learn more about him. Also think he'd have the $ to take on Rauner. I suspect he's similar to me... a pro-business Democrat.
  15. For those who don't know, impeachment requires simple majority in the house and 67 in the senate. So that would mean dems + 24 r's in the house And then the tough part... dems + 19 r's in the senate. So for the senate the obvious r's would be 1. Graham 2. McCain 3. Rubio 4. Murkowski 5. Sasse 6. Flake 7. Collins 8. Paul 9. Portman 10. Heller 11. Burr 12. Toomey Then find 7 more???
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 16, 2017 -> 02:56 AM) I keep seeing this said, but why do people think that enough Republicans will vote to impeach him for this to actually happen? Let's not forget that the Democrats haven't held this few legislative seats in what, 100 years? Trump is he conduit to having Pence as President. Every Republican in the house/senate would rather have Pence. I think if there's a serious enough issue, you'll get some serious movement on it. It'll be political theater for the ages.
  17. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Nov 30, 2016 -> 03:13 AM) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Empowering_Patients_First_Act This is likely to be the Republican Health Care plan introduced by Price/Ryan...as the replacement for ObamaCare. Judge for yourself whether people will be better off today or in the future. [iThe Act intends to fund itself through cuts to future spending increases, more commonly known as sequestration, and expected declines in the uninsured population. The Act's effects on the general public and the federal budget have yet to be assessed by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) and the Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT).[/i] As for this piece, I'll quote wolf of Wall Street MARK HANNAH: It's all a fugazi /fuɡɑzi/. Do you know what fugazi /fuɡɑzi/ is? JORDAN BELFORT: Fugazi /fuɡeɪzi/, it's a fake ... MARK HANNAH: Yeah, fugazi /fuɡeɪzi/, fugazi /fuɡɑzi/. It's a wahzi, it's a woozy. It's ... fairy dust. It doesn't exist, it's never landed, it is no matter, it's not on the elemental chart. It's not f***ing real.
  18. There has to be an individual mandate or coverage rates are going to decrease again. People don't want to buy insurance. It's the sad truth. Many would rather "roll the bones" and hope they never need anything serious. And if they do, they'll skip out on the doctors/hospitals on payment because they don't have it or file bankruptcy. In turn these providers will charge more to other patients/insurance companies to offset the losses. Then insurance rates will rise to offset the additional charges. I don't care what they call it. Call it Trumpcare for all I care. Just leave the individual mandate in.
  19. Weirdly more people voted in the democratic primary in 2016 than in the republican primary?? 311k to 301k
  20. QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 29, 2016 -> 04:50 PM) Has there been any follow-up polling to Foster Campbell? Not sure why I should care, obviously all of the secret voters come out of the woodwork. http://www.fostercampbell2016.com/ Donated again. He's really going to help the khaki caucus reassert dominance. Louisiana is the classic case of democrats not getting voters registered or out to the polls. See the 2010 census below. According to the 2010 Census: White Americans – 63.7% (59.9% non-Hispanic white, 3.8% White Hispanic) Black or African American – 30.4% Asian – 2.8% Multiracial American – 1.6% Native American – 1.0% Other race – 1.5% Hispanic or Latino of any race – 6.5% So it's basically 60% white and 40% non white For dems-- get 35% of the white vote and 80% of the non white vote and you win. 53-47% Even at 75% non white vote you're at 51% Used to have democratic senators.... Clinton won it in 1992 and 1996. Gore lost it by 7.7% Kerry lost it by 14.5% Obama lost it by 18.5% in 2008 Obama lost it by 17.2% in 2012 Clinton lost it by 19.7% in 2016
  21. Democrats are defending 23 senate seats. 2 independent seats. 8 seats for republicans. A lot can change in 2 years (retirements, running for governors races etc) but right now it looks like 7 big races per cook political report. 1. Heller ® - Nevada 2. Flake ® - Arizona 3. Brown (D) - Ohio 4. McCaskill (D) - Missouri 5. Donnelley (D) - Indiana 6. King (I) - Maine 7. Nelson (D) - Florida Personally I think that #2, 6, and 7 won't be too competitive and that the incumbents will win. I'd replace them with Heitkamp (D)- North Dakota, and Baldwin (D) Wisconsin.
  22. Greg don't get your hopes up. Unless it was a nationwide "hack" the narratives don't make sense. She did very well in areas with educated individuals. So rural Wisconsin performance mirrors how she did in sat rural Illinois or Montana or any other uneducated area. She did even better than Obama in the cities/burbs across the country. She even won Orange County, ca. It's been like 70 years since a dem won out there. But in states that matter she lost uneducated America at a far higher rate than obama did. http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/educat...vote-for-trump/
