  1. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 01:21 PM) Yes September service time counts. Moncada currently has 31 days service time. 172 days service time is considered one full year. A player needs 6 full years before they become a free agent. If the Sox keep him down in the minors long enough to prevent him from achieving 172 days service time before the end of 2017 they will get 7 years out of him instead of 6. There are roughly 183 days (though a player is only allowed to accumulate 172 days of service time per season) in the MLB season. To prevent him from achieving 172 days service time they will have to keep him down about 6 weeks. He will probably end up being a "Super 2" player but all that means is that he will get paid through arbitration for 4 years instead of 3, it doesn't affect how long the Sox have him for. He is still obviously eligible for ROY when we call him up right? We can have our own Kris Bryant; Minor League player of the year, Rookie of the year, MVP and World Series champion.
  2. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 01:19 PM) Ya, I think we all know that. Just spitballing at this point This could be an interesting trade with the Nats, if we get Robles and Gioloto we can move our farm ranking from 25 (before sale trade) to 15 (after sale) to atleast a top ten farm in two days. Not sure if I expect anything more this week but them continuing to lay groundwork to see who will give the most talent back. I almost prefer to try and see if the braves are interested I love Albies and the young kid who compares t0 Miggy.
  3. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 01:10 PM) Not sure how this deal is possible without Turner, Giolito and Robles. Otherwise I want Ross, Giolito, Robles, Lopez and my pick of 5-6 other prospects. As much as we all want Turner it's not going to happen. Maybe a Gioloto, Robles, Lopez, Servino, Difo, Freede. I can also see us getting back other MLB guys along with Gioloto, Robles, and Lopez such as Ross or Taylor or something along those lines. But there aren't going to give up Turner it just isn't going to happen.
  4. QUOTE (PolishPrince34 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 07:26 AM) Agree I'm not making a deal with the Astros unless Bregman is involved. I hate to say it there is no way we're getting Bergman or Swanson or Turner for Quintana. Even Reed, Tucker, and Paulino is a big ask their 2,3, and seven prospects respectively. I'm down to trade Quintana and anyone else for the right players and after the Sale trade the FO gets a little leeway to target and acquire guys we have to imagine they've done their homework on. But we should temper expectations a little Sale couldn't bring one of those guys back either will Q. It'll be interesting to see what we actually get, if we can get a reed, tucker/Cameron, Paulino Id be estatic. Just as if we had a chance at getting Robles and Gioloto. Just don't know if that's actually feasible. I think we will be targeting Guys who's ETA is between late 2017-2019.
  5. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 07:14 AM) I still think Houston makes the most sense here. They can get Quintana without having to include Bregman. A package built around Tucker, Reed, and an arm like Paulino would make a ton of sense for both teams IMO. Preston or Kyle tucker? And I like the thought of Cameron over Tucker.

  8. YO! Minor league player of the year. Good article by badler. https://t.co/89XMYqBUu6
  9. Moncada is what arguably a solid spring training away from the majors at best and a half a season of AAA from the majors. What's the deal with Kopech how far away is his arrival to the MLB? Also I know he throws heat but does he project as a starter or reliever? What's his best secondary pitches?
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 12:51 PM) FWIW I like Moncada more than Bregman and Turner and way more than Benintendi Agreed man. Moncada can be a future Star of the league. I know he's a prospect but between his back story and his 5-tools and unreal athleticism he can really help jump start the excitement on the South Side. Really interested in what other trades are to come, whether we are looking for a few year rebuild or we continue to get guys who need a half or full year more of polishing in the minors and we gear up for the largely talented 2018 FA class along with some of these core guys we have (Anderson, Eaton, Moncada, Rodon, Fulmer, etc) and other guys we pick up in future trades.
  11. I know this is a lot to take on Sale was a stud, but we got the number one prospect in baseball. A guy who has freakish talent along with a guy who throws 103-105, the jury is still out on the other two pieces but hell what a start.
  12. Braves "love" Chris Sale and are still trying to acquire him, baseball source tells SB Nation. Atlanta not making as much progress as others Chris Cotillo
  13. QUOTE (TheFutureIsNear @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 12:08 PM) I love how there's a Boston rumor and everyone here just starts thrwoing Moncada's name in without seeing/hearing it anywhere. If JBJ is the centerpiece then that's means we struck out on Benentendi/Moncada and settled for JBJ in my opinion. So I think we are looking at JBJ, Devers+ or Giolito, Robles,+.... I have no interest in JBJ without a Moncada. I much rather have Giloto and Robles plus. Robles is a guy who could be the number one prospect in baseball next year. We need a blue chipper and Gioloto and Robles arguably gives you two. Nothing against JBJ but I'm looking for a package of controllable guys.
  14. QUOTE (bighurt574 @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 12:05 PM) Going back to the Shelby Miller deal as a template (except for a real ace in Sale), JBJ could certainly fill Inciarte role, with Moncada filling the Swanson role. So it may not be crazy to get both. Maybe you net one more top 100 prospect (e.g., the Aaron Blair role), but probably not much more than that. I think I'd be okay with this. I wouldn't discount the fact the Sox just traded away a first basemen, it's said they want a lefty but a sale and Abreu for JBJ, Moncada, Swihart, and a pick of Rodoriquez/Devers/Kopech/Groome would be a great way to jump start a rebuild.
  15. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 12:00 PM) I don't think you can get both but if you I'd be shocked if there were any other pieces of value in that deal. So if you got JBJ, Moncada, and Swihart is that fair value for Sale? We also have the luxury of adding Abreu, or Jones, or Robertson to get some other pieces back (Devers, Kopech, Groome, Rodriquez).
  16. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 11:57 AM) Can anyone live with a deal that gets you Devers and Kopech but no headliner other than BradleyJr.? Who would the 4th/5th piece have to be in that scenario? Groome, Basabe, Swihart, Rodriguez, Owens, etc.? I rather have Moncada than JBJ. Moncada excites me more than any other potential piece we can get back. Robles is a close second if we are talking about leaving out Turner, Swanson, Etc.
  17. Is there any way of getting JBJ and Moncada as part of a package or is that too much? Maybe JBJ, Moncada, Swihart, and low A filler or two?
  18. QUOTE (Jake @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 12:40 AM) In spite of the current state of the rumor mill, I'd love to see Anderson, Turner, and Eaton batting one after another in some order. Would be an amount of speed in a lineup you don't see often, especially in Chicago What is Robles projected ETA in the big leagues?
  19. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 5, 2016 -> 10:04 AM) I would go Moncada, Benetendi, Bregman, Turner , Uriah, Swanson Agree. Moncada is by far the guy I want, I think he is not only the one guy that has all the tools to get excited about, he may also open the door to more international signings. Everyone preaches the Cubs for drafting and trading but they did a ton of huge international signings that helped speed up that process. My dream would be Moncada in any package with Boston with Dever, Kopech, Rodriquez, Swihart. And maybe a couple high ceiling low A prospects.
  20. CHW Trade Q and Robertson to LAD for Puig/Urias/Bellinger CHW Trade Chris Sale to BOS for Moncada/Bentendi/Devers/Swihart If Rodon/Urias/Fulmer develop over the next two months and next year and the position players prospects we trade for also live up to their potential we can compete in 2018 if not 2017. 1B- Abreu (2017) Bellinger (2018) 2B- Lawrie (2017) Moncada (2018) SS- Anderson 3B- Frazier (2017) Devers (2018) LF- Melky (2017) Eaton (2018) CF- Eaton (2017) Bentendi (2018) RF- Puig C- Swihart (2017)/Collins (2018) DH- Moreau (2017) Abreu (2018) SP- Shields SP- Gonzalez SP-Urias SP-Rodon SP- Fulmer (2017) RP- Petricka RP- Putnam RP- Yona RP- Burdi RP- Jennings CP- Jones Bench: Saladino Tilson Etc Etc Etc My two cents...
  21. The #Whitesox still want Joey Gallo and Nomar Mazara from #Rangers in any deal for Chris Sale Nightengale
  22. Interesting article on yardbarker I found about the 5 trades that make too much sense. Was surprised to see the white sox mentioned. Their trade is with none other than the Rockies. Here's their proposal: 4. Colorado Rockies trade Carlos Gonzalez and Ryan McMahon for Avisail Garcia, Carson Fulmer, Adam Engel, and Tyler Danish. See the link below for the other trades as well as why they think the trade makes too much sense. (Not sure if it was thread worthy) http://www.yardbarker.com/mobile/content/a..._12680_21012697
  23. Motion to ban Chisoxmike from starting game threads I feel like every time he does his negative energy has an effect on the team. I motion for Chisoxfan to start us on another winning streak tomorrow. 5 loses in the last 7 is beyond frustrating we need to get a grip and get off the snide. We have a big week after Houston leaves town, bows the time to play good ball.
