  1. Going into this year Fangraphs had Máximo Martínez #31 and 40 rating. Shocking after not pitching in 2022 with an elbow issue.
  2. Love this move. Was a huge fan of him. Shocked Rays couldn’t finish his development. Worth a shot. Haven’t seen him pitch in awhile, but stuff was sick with the Padres
  3. Jim Callis loves Eder raving about him.
  4. Has an oblique injury. Was going to play his first game today as a DH with the Astros before the trade.
  5. Bunch of guys : Burke, Sprinkle, Beard
  6. Nightingale was on Sox on 35th podcast. He believes the front office will be the same for next year. Kenny and Hahn’s contracts are up in 2024. You could totally tell he was sticking up for Jerry. Mentioned the White Sox having 4 different managers and they’ve been blamed for the issues. Organization is realizing the players are at fault. Fucking joke of an organization!!!
  7. The #WhiteSox signed 10th rounder Zach Franklin to a $10,000 deal. Slot value for the 299th pick is $167,600. Senior sign from Carlos Collazo
  8. Sox are going to have left over money. Could have went after another tough signing in the draft.
  9. Striking out close to 30% in college. The track record of being successful isn’t great.
  10. I like the Keener pick. Has 3 average to above average pitches. Arm is fresh and Wake Forest has good track record with producing and keeping their pitchers healthy.
  11. The 11-20 round selections don’t come with assigned slot values, though any money spent over $150,000* for those players will come out of the bonus pool. These dynamics are why you will often see college seniors with little leverage sign for significantly less than slot value in rounds 5-10, and high school players with more leverage sign for larger amounts after the 10th round. Moved to $150,000 this year!
  12. Looks like he has less power than Nicky two strikes!
  13. Bats: L Class: 4YR JR Height: 5' 6" Pick Value: -- Throws: R DOB: 05/06/01 Weight: 150 Birthplace: Japan
  14. https://www.prospectslive.com/prospects-live/2023/7/7/2023-mlb-draft-mock-4 Noble Meyer for the Sox. Don’t see that at all. Sox are big on the spin on his pitches and that’s one of his concerns is sometimes his fastball is hittable.
  15. Blake Wolters RHP MAHOMET-SEYMOUR HIGH (MAHOMET, ILL.) Scouting Report Bats: R, Throws: R Wolters is a 6-4 Arizona commit who didn’t do the showcase circuit, making him a hot name this spring as scouts have rushed in to see him. He’s been up to 97 mph already with a slider that’s at least a 55, showing a loose arm and high 3/4 slot that puts some riding life on the fastball up in the zone. He’s already somewhat filled out and has the classic “workhorse” pitcher’s frame that teams have targeted for decades. Some minor delivery help to get him to generate more power from his hips and legs could have him sitting mid-90s in a few years, although he’ll need to also develop a third pitch to reach his ceiling as a mid-rotation to above-average starter.
  16. Insiders keep on mentioning interested in prep players, but no one ever has them selecting the HS player in the mocks.
  17. ESPN 15. Chicago White Sox Chase Dollander, RHP, Tennessee The White Sox are checking out the prep bats here, but I think this pick will come down to Yohandy Morales or Dollander. Morales closed well and could hit 30 homers as a third baseman, while Dollander had a real shot to go in the top three picks when the spring started. He wasn't bad this spring, he just performed below the lofty expectations
  18. Keith Law last mock. Ton of new information on each team. Chicago White Sox – Enrique Bradfield Jr., OF Vanderbilt I think this is the floor for Dollander and they could be in the mix for Waldrep as well. I haven’t heard them with Wilson specifically, but he’d fit here given how they seem to scout and value players.
  19. Fangraphs 15. Chicago White Sox Pick: Chase Dollander, RHP, Tennessee At some point, Dollander’s fall will come to a stop, and I think it’s most likely to be with a team that seems to care less about fastball shape than others do. The White Sox fit that bill.
  20. Any word what happened to Jordan Sprinkle?
  21. I’m not sure I would call Davis one dimensional. Brings a lot tools to the table! Scouting Report Bats: L, Throws: L Davis is one of the most improved players among the college prospects in this class, cutting his strikeout rate from 22.8 percent as a sophomore to 14.4 percent this year as a junior for the Wildcast, while hitting for more power. A good chunk of the improvement came from closing up the whole he’d shown on the inner-third as an underclassman; he still does most of his damage on stuff middle-away, but he doesn’t whiff as much on stuff inside, and if there’s any weakness here, it’s on velocity up. His game power is at least a 60, and he’s a 55 runner who plays center now and should at least begin his pro career out there, with the downside of an above-average defender in right if he can’t stay up the middle. I think he’s at least a regular and has more upside than some of the safer college bats who’ll go before him.
