Weird move considering he just missed inducing a double play.
Can't believe I'm saying this but I get not wanting to let Sheets face him for a 3rd time

72 pitches for Singer to go 6 & 1/3 innings lol

You have to wonder how much playing in such a bandbox hurts the development of Sox pitchers.
The park doesn't seem to be doing any favors for the Sox developing hitters. The player dev is a trainwreck.

Gavin Sheets career slash line: .229/.290/.331 90 wRC+
Dom Smith career slash line: .248/.313/.407 97 wRC+Career walk & strikeout rates are practically identical. Neither guy can play the outfield at all.

I'll say that Dylan's held up healthwise far better than most and that should be worth something.
Cease leads MLB in starts since he debuted in the majors. I don't believe he's missed a single turn through the rotation. He gets nitpicked constantly for the 5ish inning starts, but him always taking the ball isn't something that's talked about enough.

There will be inevitable games next season when Robert + AV are out and the entire lineup consists of guys with sub ~.280 OBPs

Paul Dejong is a.192/.265/.353 hitter since the start of 2021

Korey Lee is worst player in Sox history
I came here to say exactly this lmao

There's a point to be made about Taylor having a vastly superior season to Benintendi and the Twins acquiring him on the cheap, but whatever. None of this stuff on the margins matters now anyway.

What are the odds of him needing another surgery?
The Yankees continuing to run him out there in a lost year when it's obvious something is wrong doesn't make any sense to me.

Rodon's final start of the season was a disaster. 8 batters faced, 0 outs recorded. Velo down ~1.5mph on all of his pitches.
hopefully he's alright.

Perhaps they'll fall ass backwards into another Quintana trade, but it feels (and felt in the moment) like a huge mistake not dealing Cease at the deadline

Bryan Reynolds just doubled off the wall. Keuchel's fortunate it wasn't a HR.
So much for that. Still pretty remarkable to see him having any success at the big league level in 2023

Keuchel is currently perfect through 6 against the Pirates

It's also not a coincidence this stuff keeps happening with the Dodgers. Surely there's nothing the White Sox can learn from the way they operate. 🙂

Betting on pitchers with elite strikeout rates and acceptable walk rates is always going to be a winning strategy in the long-term. The quality of contact Lynn allowed has been brutal, but there's a ton of variance in that. It's frustrating when every other start he was getting bombed, but nothing in his underlying metrics suggested he was completely washed.

Lance Lynn with the Dodgers:

Great job by all involved turning Andrew Vaughn into a slap hitter
