The White Sox have basically put the fans on the "pay no mind" list, so yeah, they should suffer.

"Face it, guys. We suck."

It's going to be a long 20 years with Getz in charge

Who wants any of these guys?

Time to call JR's bluff and tell him we'll find a way as soon as you publicly say you are going to kick up __ millions of dollars.
Won't happen, but you know Jerry isn't going to move the team.
This ends when Jerry dies. Not one second before.

Whatever makes Jerry mad. He's not getting a dime from me this year.

Getz has the most job security in the entire organization
I would argue if anything has something to Jerry a new owner would immediately give Getz the ax

No surprises here. Chris Getz is awful.
At least I won't have to buy the whole board churros.
-
If Getz wasn't the laughing stock of the MLB, he is now.

Well this thing is effectively dead. Why bother with 2024?

EPL is not an example for any league. Relegation just destroys the profitability of certain teams. The only way to get parity is to create it via a salary cap or at least more restrictions than they have now.

I get the feeling it's a combination of Fanatics and Nike.

Last season, I checked out after May. This season I may very well check out after April. How depressing.
It's the least ownership deserves. The fact that anyone cares is a miracle.
It's like getting into a cab and the cab drive throws it into reverse.

How many “I’m done with the Sox” comments do we need from them? Holmes is the worst of the bunch now. Can he go to Detroit with Benetti?
They're completely warranted. Jerry runs a joke organization.

What does a surge look like at Wendy's?

70 would be a miracle

The sad fact is that Tim Anderson could’ve “changed the game” and been the next superhero for young African American kids everywhere to want to play baseball over basketball and football, but he decided that extracurricular activities outside of his wife and family were just as important as his performance in his baseball season. Bad decision.
From the Field of Dreams game against the Yankees when he was at his zenith of being a star to absolutely sucking last season before he hit free agency because he was too busy worrying about his Instagram side piece…
Now he’s an afterthought of a player who has to sign with the lowly Marlins for almost the same money as 37 year old Martin Maldonado. What a pathetic and embarrassing fall from grace.
Any comparison of Anderson to Jackie Robinson has proven to be short-sighted and completely off-base. The guy will be forgotten in baseball history in ten years.
This is one of those classic meatball takes that means nothing.

Jerry is just so stubborn at this point. The league is leaving the White Sox behind on spending.

The best one is that three million in attendance will somehow magically make Ohtani and Yamamoto deals a realistic possibility…well, that’s just dumb because the Bulls are historically Top 3 in attendance and have signed how many true superstars since the Dynasty was disbanded?
Zach LaVine’s the only guy (internally) signed to a massive deal and that’s already turned into an albatross contract. They let Butler go instead of paying him. Rose and Ball eliminated themselves with injuries.
D-Wade is the closest but that was already too late in his career…like numerous HoF guys the White Sox have brought in during their final 2-3 seasons.
Well said. Most Reinsdorf money is dumb money even when he does spend.

The Allen Brothers who owned the team from 1961 to 1975 were the worst owners I ever witnessed. Actually John Allen screwed his brother out of his shares and took sole ownership from 1969 until the end in 1975. Sorry I called you a Cubs fan. Obviously your not.
All good. sorry for the escalation.

Maybe the real Chicago White Sox were the friends we made along the way.

They are actually super well understood. In general they’re not worth the money, especially if the entire stadium is publicly financed. They’re usually awful deals for taxpayers.
This concept is a little different from a normal one since it’s truly a blighted area that may not otherwise be developed. Some money going to put a stadium here is justified.
But not the government paying for the entire stadium and a large fraction of the rest if the development.
Yeah I was being polite. The data that indicate there is some big economic boon is looking at only specific gains but not the big picture.
