  1. You’re right, he isn't the guy. And I’m willing to take that chance drafting another QB.
  2. I’m glad, they didn’t deserve to win on a hail mary pass.
  3. This is definitely feeling like a loss already. And their call going back to the fourth down where they couldn’t convert is looking like a huge turning point.
  4. Shouldn’t we be applauding Ohtani then for taking less money to play somewhere he wanted to go?
  5. What am I missing here? Do we hate it just because the Dodgers were clever enough to create a deal that benefited them in the short run?
  6. In such a scenario, they may very well play themselves out of a Top 10 pick. Which doesn’t really allow a Daniels/Maye/Williams + MHJ scenario. I believe there would be a lot of pressure to hold onto Fields. Which is so aggravating because that’s potentially 2 straights years we’ve had the #1 pick. Are we going to look back and say we passed on Stroud and Daniels/Maye/Williams because….we were content with Fields? It’s absurd. Bears fans and management should stop being content with, good enough. Take a shot and develop a franchise QB. Fields isn't that guy for us
  7. Typical Fields game: several plays where you see the talent (Mooney pass, Scramble on the 1st half, 3rd down, last drive for 61 yards), and then there’s everything else (Fumbling again, holding onto the ball too long, double clutching open pass to Mooney, Red zone failures). Can we please move on from him next season?
  8. God i would love to hear Reinsdorf’s complaints with the contract. He has to have thrown out some comment anonymously to a writer by now
  9. That “have it or you don’t” philosophy is why it’s time to move on from Fields. A second tier QB is sufficient for a team built to compete right now. We’re not there, though. And honestly I’m not content with that. If there’s a generational Mahomes QB in this class then it’s the responsibility of the Bears to identify and draft him. No more excuses. No, “well how could have anyone have expected Penix Jr. to adapt his style so quickly to the NFL.” It’s just always something. And it’s time we elevate our expectations. Yes, there is luck involved; but we cannot luck ourselves into anything unless we take the chance and select a QB with one of the first two picks. I honestly rather take the chance on greatness with the draft, then hoping Fields is “good enough.” Now if they f*** it up and choose poorly, then they can try it again in two years. We could keep doing it until someone gets it, right
  10. Exactly. Or what is the worst case scenario for me as finishing outside the top six, having a bad record next year, and then getting the number two overall pick and missing out on some generational talent
  11. Lol i I thought you were being serious. Well done
  12. Didn’t many have this exact same thought process at the trade deadline? “Just wait until the offseason when there’s more teams looking for pitching.” Lets not act like we’re going to enter the season with Cease. We cannot take the risk, and I’m sure every team knows it
  13. LittleHurt didn’t set the expectations of drafting a generational QB. He said the right pick for QB can lead us to the playoffs, which is actually not uncommon for first year QB’s. Although I personally believe having the potential #1 pick in two straight seasons, we should all be setting that standard as a minimum. Kevin Warren can’t possibly look Poles in the face after missing out on Stroud (and say Jayden Daniels) and not feel physically ill if the justification is - I wanted to see how Fields would fare with additional weapons/protection. Whatever route he chooses, it must be the right one. And given these last couple seasons, he should be feeling the pressure
  14. I’m just tired of the excuses. We know what we have with Fields and all of his limitations. He should be gone. This Carolina pick is likely going to be #1 or #2, so there’s no reason every first round QB regardless of pre-draft hype shouldn’t be looked at.
  15. It’s amazing to watch the improvement in Love through his first season. Many had written him off through the first five, six games. Yet here we are, in Fields third season, still trying to decide if he’s our QB. It’s a joke.
  16. Again Jordan Love looks great. Do we believe in him yet?
  17. I’ll throw myself in too as a believer in Daniels. I don’t know if he’ll make it out of the top 10 though.
  18. I’d be perfectly fine with that route if there weren’t several very good QBs available in the upcoming draft. I just don’t see how Poles’ survives if he passes up on another potentially great QB because he is content with Fields. Look at it this way, we have been trying to build a foundation then find a QB who sticks for our entire existence. It hasn’t worked. Let’s focus on the QB position first. And if we don’t get it right in three years, then try it again. Because once we do get it right, then we are good for the next decade
  19. Whatever route Poles chooses to follow, he better get it right. That’s the position he has put himself in. No more excuses. Two potential #1 picks in two years, there needs to be a franchise QB at the other end of this. If he decides to keep Fields, and go with another head coach and/or OC, then he better be outplaying whoever is drafted in 2024. No more Stroud excuses of, “no one could have predicted that,” and “we were evaluating Fields.” Too bad. Get it right, or you’re done.
  20. So…the Sox need to overcome the low odds (17% chance) of selecting outside the Top 6 for the 2024 Draft. Then next year, they’ll need everything to fall their way to be selected for the 1st overall pick in 2025. Yeah we’re not that lucky.
  21. Who were any of us to doubt GB and Jordan Love? Not setting up the HOF placard yet, but he has looked great the last two games.
  22. The 4-D chess move for Poles would be improving the team outside of QB (MHJ, Olu), sitting back and buying more time for himself, while still holding onto the “Fields isn’t my QB” card. This draft may very well have future HOF talent taken as the 3rd or 4th QB selected overall. If they don’t select the right one, and go through another Mahomes scenario, Poles is done. Especially with a likely Top 5 pick, and another inside the Top 10.
