  1. It would’ve been better for Detroit just to run into the end zone
  2. Absolutely. And it helps draw a lot of attention to the coaches and their terrible decisions.
  3. It’s the, playing not to lose mentality that these coaches have. And it was so obvious to everyone in that stadium, Detroit stacked the line.
  4. With 3 minutes left, Here is where we need the Bears to try putting together a good drive, not just trying to play the clock and eek out a win with all run plays. too many teams get burned doing this
  5. And I honestly have no idea who any of the players traded for Bummer, are. No clue. I’ve been checked out of the baseball scene for several years now. Although from a purely numbers standpoint, you’re better off taking a flyer on five names than one or two slightly higher ranked players. We’re searching for bodies outside of FA to fill a ML roster. It’s not going to move the needle on our upcoming 100 loss season
  6. Whatever the true motivations behind declining Anderson’s option were, I give Getz this much credit - I didn’t see it coming. Would Williams and Hahn have let him go? I really doubt it. It went against White Sox logic and past practices. I didn’t expect Bummer to be traded (and definitely this early), either. I can’t foolishly believe that changing around a couple guys is going to somehow change the deeply entrenched White Sox culture; but I like the start of it.
  7. Even if we’re envisioning a best case scenario where he returns from missing three games and improves on ALL his decencies, I wouldn’t trust Fields entering 2024. I don’t believe the coaching staff would, either. Hopefully another NFL team would be willing to buy into it. There are quite a few good quarterback, options coming out in the next draft. We could easily pick up a generational quarterback outside the top 10, for the reasons bmags mentioned. And if Carolina keeps on sucking they can help us land MHJ. Patriots and the Giants (two serious contenders for the top draft pick) would both need QBs.
  8. Terrible call by the Panthers. After driving down the field for 5+ minutes they decide to chance the 4th down on a 59 yard field goal?!
  9. Talent finds a way. I believe the whole “Mahones wouldn’t be the same” on the Bears argument is just the coping mechanism our fans have created to justify missing out on a HOF QB. He wouldn’t have been at his current level given KC was the perfect fit; but I believe he’d be closer to his current level on the Bears, then, to believe he would’ve been ruined. Or just some average QB
  10. It will be another talking point if Stroud ends up become a generational talent, but I can’t really blame the Bears. In some alternate reality they’d take Bryce Young, if anything. Similarly, if they have #1 for 2024 they’ll take Williams. It’s like a team would rather fail with the hype than risking out thinking themselves with the #1 “consensus” pick. You of course want the higher pick for additional draft capital, but we could end up with #3 and #5, initially feel disappointed, but end up still having great options with Penix Jr. and Olu at OT.
  11. I wonder if we’ll be saying the same thing next draft, where Williams will draw the #1 pick but Maye ends up being the better quarterback for whoever picks him.
  12. It’s funny how everything worked out for the Texans picking second in the draft. Lovie Smith helped them more than they ever could have known. If Texas did have the number 1 pick, would they still have drafted Stroud? I’m sure they’ll say yes; but I doubt it.
  13. He doesn’t deserve the respect, but my god - that replay showed the defender holding him for 5+ seconds. The second Jones attempted to push off, a flag was thrown.
  14. Yep. Three INT’s now, and all of them were poorly thrown.
  15. There’s the “oh s%*# New Orleans has no penalties” penalty for the Saints.
  16. Probably not, and that’s how they will control him. No one else wanted Paul. No one else sure as hell wanted to put him in the position the White Sox did. So he better follow the plan of Getz or else he’s back to being an assistant coach. Reinsdorf has taught him well.
  17. Getz must be self aware of how he (undeservedly) made it through the ranks, and now feels like he has to pay it forward by bringing someone unexperienced (even by his standards) to fill his position. That idea of finding the next Getz makes me sense to me than any other reason. You could find a lot of other cheap options who have atleast coached one day in a ML system.
  18. Scott Merkin will happily provide the softball Q and A article that you’re seeking.
  19. They had to try very hard to make the hire sound legitimate. It was a step above saying, “he has 30+ years of professional baseball experience, and now we’re going to break down his time playing going back to t-ball.”
  20. Lol no kidding, especially since our third rounder will likely be higher than theirs! We outbid ourselves.
  21. Well, that was unfortunate. You felt watching the first half it was going to be a 50+ point game for LA. And any QB controversy stops right now. We should be seeing Fields next Sun
