  1. QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 23, 2013 -> 03:22 PM) Hell I had a Cardinals fan tell me they wouldnt give up even Wong for Peavy and we should prepare to be gravely disappointed in the return for Peavy. That talk just makes me laugh. If we arent getting the value we want for Peavy then keep him. We have the leverage here. Agreed. If the Cardinals want to improve their team and make a deep post season wrong, they will have to get rid of some assets. If not, then Sox will move on to another team or will just keep Peavy as he is a key piece to the rotation.
  2. If Hahn were to trade with the Cardinals, I'd try to get Carlos Martinez. I think a Peavy for Wong, Martinez and Kelly would be a pretty solid deal. If Cardinals don't want to include Martinez then I would do Peavy and Lindstrom for Wong, Carson Kelly, Jenkins, Piscotty and Ramsey.
  3. QUOTE (mike65 @ Jul 23, 2013 -> 02:26 PM) "Cards emerge as darkhorse for Peavy" is the bottom line ticker on MLB show "The Rundown". I mentioned that last night, Wong was not in the Memphis lineup or the night before and there is no injury. That was in addition to the Cards promoting a AA 2B to Memphis and a Hi-A 2B to Springfield. I felt last night and I feel today that something is happening althought I am not sure of what. I wonder if a package of Martinez Wong and another player for Peavy would be good.enough?
  4. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 23, 2013 -> 01:35 PM) http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/blog/jon-heym...l-peavy-suitors Not unexpected that Heyman says Red Sox and Cards emerging as top suitors of Peavy possibly with Az in the mix. That's all we've been talking about here. Peavy and Alexei makes so much sense to the Cards its scary . I agree. But they have to overpay for them.
  5. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jul 23, 2013 -> 01:19 PM) If Hahn doesn't get a Garza package or better for Peavy, he shouldn't make the deal, and he should tell those teams that are coming up short with their offers that he's going to text them a photo of Peavy every time their #5 starter is out there getting shelled in August and September. Lol I agree. You get a package that's equal or just as much as what Cubs got for Garza. Cardinals BoSox or DBacks definitely have to overpay.
  6. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jul 23, 2013 -> 11:54 AM) With Grilli out for the season, does a trade with the Pirates make more sense tha ever, given that we can package a reliever along with Rios and fill two holes for them? Is he for sure out for the season?
  7. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 23, 2013 -> 10:34 AM) No, I could really care less. I don't think this team is far off, even if the record indicates otherwise. I think you go out and get a legitimate CF next year (and move De Aza to LF), deal Viciedo off in a package for a solid, youngish 3B, and you have a fairly competitive team in those two moves. And, even with this said, if they sell off 3-7 pieces, I think a change would be refreshing. More than anything else, I want the season to be over I agree. That makes sense.
  8. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 23, 2013 -> 10:23 AM) We can tell. Lol yeah I think we all are.
  9. I know there still is 8 days left but I want a trade to happen with Rios Crain or Peavy. Anticipation is killing me
  10. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 22, 2013 -> 11:05 PM) I agree 100%...especially about Peavy and Rios. Cut bait, get something fair, and move on without them. Thank you. I love Peavy, but if he can bring a ton in a package I wouldn't hesitate to make the deal. Rios does need to go though. I just want this to happen already.
  11. Honestly if Hahn doesn't trade Peavy, Rios Crain and Lindstrom I'll be mad because I just want the rebuilding to happen and get young talking into the system.
  12. QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 22, 2013 -> 09:13 PM) Chuck Garfien ‏@ChuckGarfien 7m Addison Reed on the White Sox trading Jake Peavy: "It's probably going to happen." Story on Peavy and Rios on the way soon... Details https://twitter.com/ChuckGarfien That's interesting. I really wanna see Peavy win a ring
  13. Bucket, any new word now that Garza is gone what the Sox could be asking and what teams are offering?
  14. With Garza deal done, Sox now have arguably the best pitcher, relief pitcher and hitter available in the trade marke. Things could get very interesting.
  15. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jul 22, 2013 -> 02:22 PM) Nick Cafardo ‏@nickcafardo 5m We hear Red Sox prefer peavy over garza but remain active in talks on both. Much will hinge on buchholz second opinion with dr Andrews Expand Give me Webster Cecchini Bentz Marrero and De La Cruz for Peavy and Crain.
  16. QUOTE (beck72 @ Jul 22, 2013 -> 01:59 PM) Which is why a team like SF is supposedly not in the running for peavy, as they don't have the minimum young talent it'll take to acquire him. Along with the Rockies who have been reported to be on him too. For Peavy I would focus on Rangers, DBacks, Cardinals and Red Sox.
  17. QUOTE (Knackattack @ Jul 22, 2013 -> 09:28 AM) The site is run by a cub fan, clearly, the numbers were altered because I doubt that many people could be that stupid in the same place. Yeah it is. It's just a fan poll. Not what GMs think though. And the dude that runs mlbtraderumors lives 2 minutes from my house.
  18. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Jul 21, 2013 -> 09:05 PM) It's early in this dance with Texas. I will say Peavy should command more than they would send for Garza. You really think so bucket? That would be amazing.
  19. QUOTE (mike65 @ Jul 21, 2013 -> 07:48 PM) I have no new rumors because the Cardinals (my team) are as tight-lipped as the White Sox front office. You guys at least have Bucket so you get more than most message boards. You guys have a lot of message space taken up with Arizona and I don't blame you. They have a nice farm system. I got some information today that I think bears on this thread's subject. At Last night's White Sox game, the scouts present were from the Yankees, Orioles, Red Sox, and Cardinals. Apparently absent were the DBacks. What any of this means, I have no idea. Just an FYI. DBacks were there but Rosenthal said.they weren't looking at Peavy which I highly doubt
  20. If the Rangers offered that for Garza, what do you guys think we can realistically get for a package of Peavy and Crain from Red Sox, Rangers, DBacks?
  21. QUOTE (beck72 @ Jul 21, 2013 -> 10:27 AM) The sox definitely should hold out for the best deal. There's no rush to dump Peavy, even if he gets re-injured before the 31st. Then the Sox keep him for next year, worst case. Then they might have to trade a SP like Santiago instead in the offseason to help the offense. But I could see a decent offer come even before his next start. Other teams know they're getting a guy who won't wilt under pressure, as long as the medical reports look good. I agree. With Peavy, Hahn has to get a great offer that can help this team next year or in 2 years offensively. If that can't be the case, then our rotation next year when healthy again is top 5 in the AL.
  22. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jul 21, 2013 -> 09:58 AM) Matt Davidson + please. Or Chris Owings. Can't wrong with either. Preferably both but let's not get greedy
  23. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jul 21, 2013 -> 09:31 AM) Couldn't even get a number of players he expects to go out of him. He's usually pretty straight forward too. Does that mean he has no clue, or expects major change?
