You seem to get this but Mercedes has no value to the Reds. I don't think Mercedes has any value to anyone but I know Sox fans will throw him in trade packages anyways. He's only a potential "guy" for 15 teams. Look how the market treated a DH only in Cruz. Today's environment just doesn't value Mercedes. Maybe Tampa would like him (yes I know they've given up on him before) but that's all I can see.

Random thoughts/things I noticed -Sheets had his fourth error of the season in LF last night. That is not good -Curbelo's swing looks great... -Nik Turley has been one of the only guys in Charlotte throwing well. I wonder how soon he replaces mop-up duty Crochet. -Bilous has always had decent stuff and got the strikeouts, but if he keeps limiting the walks he could be interesting.

I think the big thing with Vaughn is composure. He just acts like he belongs. Hasn't made any miscues that came from the jitters. Crazy thinking about how Nick Williams had looked out there after playing the outfield (and Center specifically) throughout his career. Also Lamb has been thrown out there just like Vaughn and Vaughn has had less nerve-wracking moments in significantly more time.

I would love it if Rodon accepted a qualifying offer. At least if he doesnt we should recoup a pick.

Hahn almost always does a presser before the homestand. I don't think Cishek was reporting that it was happening but just tweeting on what he was expecting. LaRussa did his normal presser. Hahn was at the stadium sitting 30 feet away from me watching the game in the scout seats. It is really curious that Hahn didn't do his normal presser. Probably wanted to avoid having to defend things he doesn't agree with.

I was mostly joking because Adolfo is one of the most menacing dudes in the org. He's listed at 6'4 225 but I've seen him in person and he looks more 6'6 280. Sox should D-Bo on high alert at 1st base though. When Anderson and Mercedes are up he should be a lot closer to the plate than normal.

Sox should call up Adolfo for the day and cut Lamb since they have no use for Lamb anyways.

If the Twins are going to do something I just hope they avoid TA. Not that I want anyone else getting hurt, but the drama and reaction will be much bigger if TA gets hit.

Which is dumb. TLR is too rigid to play Grandal and Collins at the same time. Against righties they should both be in the lineup with Vaughn.
