  1. The Sox aren’t moving Moncada around and shouldn’t. He’s a good 3B.
  2. I’m not asking for much… Both burger and sheets are on the 40 man and have earned a shot. I’m not opposed to giving Beckham a shot either. Gonzalez is an easy option, and at this point, I think a couple weeks about bats in AAA for Yermin makes too much sense. Really don’t understand the reluctance to try some other things.
  3. The lack of willingness to shake things up is starting to piss me off. Why is Yermin playing today but sitting yesterday against a lefty? Why is Gonzalez on this roster? Why was Collins playing yesterday against a lefty. So dumb. This team is sinking and needs help fast.
  4. Don't get how you can not make a roster move. If Yermin isn't playing against a soft tossing lefty, what is he doing on the roster?
  5. Chances we see any notable roster moves today? It seems so obvious to shake things up, but I am not expecting it.,
  6. Shitty weather? Man, I was looking forward to sitting on my ass and watching the Sox this weekend. First plan free weekend in a while and for awhile.
  7. Still on this, huh? No one is pleading for Vaughn to play LF over better options. If Eloy and Luis were healthy, I would have sent him to AAA over a month ago. But they're not, and you can add Eaton, Hamilton and Engel to the IL-victim list. The only thing anyone here is saying is that turning Vaughn into a weak-side platoon player for AAAA retreads like Brian Goodwin and Jake Lamb is asinine. Realistically, all can play against RHP based on how dinged up the Sox are, so I am not even sure what you're arguing for at this point.
  8. Completely agree (probably don't need to cut Gonzalez yet tho), but I doubt we see it today. Also, where TF is Kopech? We need to get him back.
  9. I said preseason Mcp candidates. Luis is easily one of the best handful of OF in the AL with ginormous upside.
  10. To be fair, it’s a miracle the Sox have weathered this as well as they have. No team can really recover from losing 2 legit preseason MVP candidates and 33% of their lineup. Not to mention all the other injuries. No one is insulated for that.
  11. I think Yermin needs a couple weeks regardless. Let him get his confidence back in AAA. He has none right now.
  12. We missed ya, Stone Pony. Bring some Ws with you, my friend.
  13. I was all for extending extending Rodon to a cheap deal full of team options a couple years ago when he was recovering from injury. Posted about it a lot with a lot of people telling me I am crazy. Would have worked out pretty damn well for the Sox. Now? Extending Rodon would be crazy. He won't be cheap and chances he is both i) this good; and 2) healthy, are remote. Lynn on the other hand? He'll be 35 right after OD next year and is heading into an offseason with some uncertainties with the CBA. I'd be all over trying to get him to sign a similar deal to what he signed in TEX. 3/$30M won't get it done, but maybe something more like $12-13M AAV over the same term would? Probably not, but Hahn should be trying.
  14. Do they still do any form of "taxi squad" now that minor leagues are fully operating? My guess is not. Just thinking of possible reasons why they'd have gone with Gonzalez - really doesn't make any sense.
  15. I read here recently Cespedes' issue was almost sorted out and he'd be reporting to A+ or AA. Any update there? It is an absolute travesty this guy isn't playing. For all we know, we could be an option in the OF at this point if he had been getting game reps since April.
  16. Our starting LF today was hitting under .200 in a hitter paradise in Charlotte. So yeah….not a lot of great options.
  17. I think that is one we may regret moving. I could see him (and have felt this way for awhile) turning into an above average corner OF offensively. He lost so much development time and losing 2020 was horrible for him to compound all the injuries. He is an absolute monster of a man. But yeah - if they're not willing to try him out now with the OFs they're running out there lately, his days on this 40 man are numbered.
  18. Pretty sure Micker is out of options after 2021 even with the Sox being granted a "bonus" option on him. With that being the case, I see no good reason we shouldn't give him a shot with all the injuries. He's either on the 2022 OD roster, or he's in another org. He would strike out a ton and I am sure it will be super ugly, but he's pretty close to a do or die spot in this org. I certainly would rather see him than Gonzalez.
  19. The man absolutely hates Yasmani Grandal and cannot be reasoned with. Don't bother.
  20. The White Sox are not in a position to punt Vaughn's development in order to give Jake Lamb, Brian Goodwin or Leury Garcia at bats. Those guys are all who they are - below average players who are lucky to have MLB jobs right now. Andrew Vaughn is a consensus top 15-20 prospect in the game who is widely considered to have the potential to be an elite MLB hitter. IS he right now? No. Will be be buy August 2021? Probably not. But we already know who Lamb, Goodwin and Garcia are and it isn't pretty. Vaughn has enormous upside, especially as a LF/RF. I also don't think playing any of those guys over Vaughn puts the Sox in a better position to win now. If Eloy, Engel and Luis were healthy - I'd have no problem sending AV to AAA to get a year of control back and let him get his swing hitting bombs in a bandbox. But we just simply don't have that luxury at this stage, and I am dumbfounded that some posters (frankly just a couple) can't wrap their head around that. There are no better options than Vaughn in LF right now.
