  1. Can the mods ban this ass hat?
  2. Don't watch them then. Baseball games are long. So what. Its what makes the grind of a 162 game season so beautiful. I absolutely love parking my ass on the couch and watching a 4 hour baseball game. Are there areas where we could see things speed up a bit? Sure. I am all for 30 second shot clocks on pitchers. Replay reviews take WAY WAY WAY WAY too much time and this should be the easiest thing to speed up yet the genius' at mlb can't figure that out. Filling the beautiful game of baseball with gimicks to speed it up isn't the answer.
  3. Its terrible. National media should STFU. Shortening a game by making it some gimicky little league length game is not the way. Manfred seems more concerned about the folks that don't give a rats ass about the game as opposed to its true fans. No one who doesn't love baseball is watching a full length double header anyway. I don't think the 7 inning DHs are really there to speed things up. I think it was put into play last year because they figured there would be a ton of double headers due to covid PPDs, and they wanted to make it easier to get the games in. Maybe that is still the case this year, but I just think it was Manfred sticking it to the players union for not agreeing to expanded playoffs. Wielding the power he does have. With a 6 month season and 162 games, there was absolutely no good reason for 7 inning double headers in 2021.
  4. This is personal for you, eh? Wowzers.
  5. He’s also looked quite capable in LF. I have no real qualms stating that I’d prefer Vaughn to Eloy in LF for a litany of reasons. Not the least of which is keeping Eloy in the lineup.
  6. Lol the pen has been bad, but these dudes shouldn’t have ever been pitching in this game. Now Hendriks!? My oh my.
  7. Happy learned how to putt.
  8. Just coming here to say it’s been another head scratching night of TLR and his own usage.
  9. Wasn't trying to pick any certain sample to prove a point, honestly. Just think Yermin has looked pretty human the last 8-10 games. That's all. I personally think that is more the Yermin we're going to get moving forward - not the guy that somehow hit .500 the first week or so. Like I said in my previous post, I am rooting like hell for him. I am not posting this to wag it in people's faces in a few months. I'd love to see nothing more than him becoming a premier hitter in this league. I just don't think it is very likely.
  10. You're right - I was actually counting the 1 AB in the 4/11 game which drops it to .258. Look - I am rooting for Yermin. I hope he turns into a mainstay. But I am going to take the Parkman route on this one and expect very little and be pleasantly surprised. We know he can hit - he always has. But I don't think his torrid pace for the first week is something we're going to see all that often, and without it, his numbers are fairly pedestrian for a DH only. Obviously you take out any hot week like that it skews the numbers, and I am not trying to discount what he has done to this point. He, in my opinion, has been one the best stories in baseball so far in 2021. I just think people that are extrapolating these 60 PAs out as if the Sox will even get 75% of that production out of Yermin moving forward are going to be pretty disappointed. You have to hit a lot to be a DH-only player in this league.
  11. He is hitting .260 in his last 8 games. One multi-hit game. That is more the guy we thought he was. He is starting to expand his zone and swing at more garbage. Starting to K more. Outside of the HR in Boston, most of his contact lately has been weak. His magic wand is starting to falter. I like Yermin - he was a super fun little story line the first few weeks. It is obvious he can hit a bit. I don't in any way shape or form expect him to be a lineup mainstay for the next half decade, and nor should anyone else. I think the chances are higher than he is out of the league in a year than the chances he is getting every day MLB PAs by mid-2022. I would be happy to be wrong.
  12. True, I just think people who have preferred the Sox keep Dunning, and spend $ on a FA SP or two. Instead, we traded 6 years of Dunning for 1 year of an underpaid SP. And then we didn't even use those savings to upgrade the team in the meaningful way. I think its fair to cast criticism at the move. I hated it. Still don't love it. Happy to have Lynn as he is what the Sox need in a #2, but it sucks to have given up 6+ years of Dunning for just 1 season of him.
  13. Maybe, but he had 2 options left after this season and plenty of space between him and the cutline. He’s got at least another year IMO.
  14. Where Nick was drafted is somewhat irrelevant at this point, but it comes up all the time. Its akin to what you paid for something is somewhat irrelevant once you own it -- all that matters is what it is worth now. We can debate until the cows come home if Madrigal was a good pick with #4. But its pointless. He is here, and he is the 2B. You can not like him because he doesn't have a huge ceiling due to his skillset, but not liking him because of where he was drafted is silly. I still feel like Madrigal is great fit for this roster. We have a ton of free swingers and guys who K a ton. He adds nice balance. I was expecting better defense and I've been hard on Nick at times for his lack of defense so far in MLB, but he's looked much better recently and still feel he's the perfect complementary piece on this roster.
  15. Sort down or IL. Whatever he had going on with his thumb didn't look great.
  16. Is he still our hottest hitter? TA is that, probably. Yermin has 1 multi-hit game in his last 8. Hitting .259. Still been pretty solid, but reality is showing its face.
  17. Fair. He's played well since the shaky start though.
  18. I would have taken a split in Boston if you asked on Friday before the game. Get out there and try to get 2 in Cle.
  19. Seemed a tad early for the position player pitching IMO. 6 runs isn't impossible with 6 outs. Oh well. Was entertaining at least.
  20. Well hope Jose figures it out soon. He's a pretty easy out right now.
  21. I never really shared much of an opinion on an extension. He's a 1B/DH (at least we thought) that we could control for 7 seasons. Don't really see the point in extending Vaughn. I just would have started him at the alt site and called him up this coming weekend. Then we'd have the extra year. My stance was moreso if he is on the MLB roster, the dude should be playing most everyday. I still feel that way - but he's really scuffling, so I am OK with giving him a few more off days while he figures it out. He should still be playing some of the time, though. And his transition to LF has going very well IMO. He looks solid out there.
  22. The haters have piped down.
