    Your Trade Target Wishlist

QUOTE (gosoxgo2005 @ Jun 2, 2016 -> 03:12 PM) Let's trade for Bryant, Arrieta, Kershaw, Trout, Arrenado too while we're at it Huh? His proposals weren't that farfetched.... I too think Kelly Johnson would be nice addition to the bench. Hope we shoot higher than Carlos Beltran for the big bat acquisition though.

White Sox Prospects of the Month, May 2016

QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 2, 2016 -> 11:23 AM) Is Hayes a contender for a Sox bench spot? Makes more sense than Sands with Shuck also on the roster, IMO. Need Austin to get healthy, though.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 01:21 PM) Yeah, I would do that move in a heartbeat. Few reasons. First off, I wouldn't be outraged or anything if that move was made, but... I like Fulmer. If Fulmer is in the deal, I don't think the Sox should be picking up the full tab on Cargo. I wouldn't necessarily say that McMahon is a "better asset" than Fulmer - but its close. We all know the Sox develop pitchers better than hitters, and I suppose I'd rather see a guy closer to the majors than McMahon if Fulmer is the price, even though he is only a year or two away. While the Sox aren't exactly stacked at 3B in the minors, it is one of their better insulated positions. I am a big fan of Trey Michalczewski and think he is the third baseman in 2018 after Frazier leaves in FA. But there are other options on the farm in Davidson and Delmonico that could feasibility become average major leagues, even if that likelihood isn't high. If I am trading Fulmer, I think I'd prefer a high upside OF coming back. Basically, I think the Rockies need to kick in some cash in that deal if Fulmer is dealt, along with Engel and Danish. I do like the idea, just not that particular proposal, though it seems to be a pretty well thought out offer for a hypothetical.

Cashing in on Todd Frazier at the deadline?

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 11:08 AM) Todd Frazier's BABIP is 191. Should normalize at some point to his 280 career average. That will be fun. That's wild. The 16 HRs help though.

Why is Jerry Sands Still A Thing?

    Yeah, I don't get it.

    Early Trade Speculation

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ May 26, 2016 -> 08:12 AM) I'd do Adams and Michalczewski for Lucroy for sure. Brewers probably wouldn't though. Tough pill to swallow for a guy you control for only 1.5 years. I think Trey is the replacement for Frazier in 2018. With so many guys off the books after next year, giving away the few offensive pieces we have in the minors doesn't seem wise.

    James Loney

QUOTE (The Mighty Mite @ May 24, 2016 -> 04:08 PM) Living in Florida and watching the Rays almost every game, I have always been a Loney fan, great glove at first and would be a nice backup for Abreu and is a damn good contact hitter, would be a good fill in at DH also. I don't need to see Sands anymore. I agree. He's nothing special, but an upgrade to Sands for sure. Just call up Shuck and send Kahnle back down. Acquiring Loney for nothing don't preclude the Sox from acquiring a better LH bat later in the summer when the sticker price drops.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ May 24, 2016 -> 03:57 PM) Last I heard he was destroying the ball in Japan. Haven't checked in a while though. Yup - didn't realize he went to Japan. .310/.401/.592 with 10 2B, 13 HR and 35 RBI in in 174 AB. Its the Dayan we had all hoped for!

    Early Trade Speculation

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ May 24, 2016 -> 08:03 AM) Avila is a real problem at catcher. Outside of drawing some walks, his bat is completely useless. Whether it's Lucroy or a lesser option, we desperately need to add another catcher IMO. Agreed. Time to let Navarro take 80% of the ABs. Avila can catch Sale and thats it IMO. The dude's only plan at the plate is to walk, and if that doesn't work, he's pretty much an automatic out. His ABs are hideous.

    Early Trade Speculation

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ May 23, 2016 -> 12:20 PM) He's due the prorated amount this season plus $13.5 in 2017 and $13.5 in 2018, with a $1 million buyout for 2019. That is what pitchers cost. I'd rather have Santana for a low prospect cost and take on the contract than someone like Teheran where they'd definitely be trading Fulmer. This.

    Early Trade Speculation

QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ May 23, 2016 -> 11:44 AM) Because he's already 33 years old and is due at least $40 million through 2019. Unless he came very cheap, I want nothing to do with him. I bet you could get Santana for next to nothing prospect-wise. The Twins would be happy to save the doe. And realistically, Santana is worth what he gets paid ($13.5M per year). Just look at last winter's FA market for starters. I am not super in love in Santana, but it'd be a nice move and decent way to spend LaRoche's $. Team still needs another good left handed stick, though.

5/20- Kansas City @ White Sox- 7:10 PM CT

QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ May 20, 2016 -> 11:53 AM) I know it's not representative of their fanbase as a whole, but as someone who frequents /r/baseball (Reddit) and Fangraphs a lot, their fans in both communities have become absolutely insufferable over the past year (and this started happening well before the World Series). I don't doubt they're a bunch of idiots (most fan bases are) - but when trolling some other teams message board, you can expect to be treated with some disdain.

5/20- Kansas City @ White Sox- 7:10 PM CT

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ May 20, 2016 -> 11:34 AM) I'm starting to hate their fans. Because you, a white sox fan, decided to go over to their message board and start talking s***? By the way, how do you have the time to do that? C'mon man. Whats the point? A Royals fan would be received the same way if the roles were reversed. That said, fu** the Royals!

    Early Trade Speculation

QUOTE (joejoedairy @ May 19, 2016 -> 12:19 PM) I think we should make an offer for James Shields. Price tag is a little high but its only two more years after this one and perhaps SD could throw in a couple million. I'm thinking an offer like Sanchez and EJ and maybe another lower level prospect. Is that enough? The Padres would give the Sox James Shields. If you're giving them Sanchez and EJ, they need to pick up more than "a couple million".

    Sox Re-Acquire OF Jason Bourgeois

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 17, 2016 -> 06:26 PM) We're almost to the point where we can field a team of former Sox prospects. Trayce Thompson OF Micah Johnson 2B/OF Montas (granted, he's injured) Chris The Dragon Devenski SP Gio Gonzalez SP Marcus Semien SS Daniel Hudson Closer Chris Young OF Chris Carter 1B/DH Josh Phegley C Chris Large Mouth Bassitt, SP That team would be a mediocre in the Pacific League. Gross.

    Early Trade Speculation

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ May 16, 2016 -> 08:40 PM) He's probably attainable for sure but I doubt they would take a token Soxtalk offer of: Beck/Johnson, Sanchez, other random guy for him. I bet they would. Bully Burns is a mediocre baseball player.
  22. QUOTE (raBBit @ May 16, 2016 -> 02:23 PM) "In all probability, it's conceivable, that much like any of the other 29 teams, we are going to use the resources at our disposal to exhaust any plausible form of an upgrade in one way or another all things considered." Well done! I laughed.

    The Bench

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 12, 2016 -> 03:16 PM) Because there's nothing inherently terrible/bad/negative with wanting to get better? What team is completely satisfied with where they're at...? I hate that argument, that we should just be contented and that looking for ways to improve and make the team even more competitive is a bad thing? Or even worse, that we're not supporting Sands/Carrol/Sanchez/Erik Johnson/Saladino if we're talking about trading or replacing them? It's kind of like that old axiom about "supporting the troops" but not in general being for war. Just because you're thinking of ways to get better doesn't mean you're a "bad" fan or whatever. Just like those folks who don't want to see war after war bristle when they're called "unpatriotic." There are always two sides to every coin. I don't have a problem with getting better, I didn't say I am completed satisfied with where we're at or the roster as constructed. I made a post regarding a few roster moves earlier in this thread. What I said is - I don't understand why the Cubs need to be mentioned every other post.
