  1. $4.5M with $1M in incentives. $7M option for 21 with $500k buyout. Home run terms.
  2. The team won’t announce Officially until he takes the physical. But I do think it’s strange we haven’t heard anything from reporters on dollar amount.
  3. I love the guy. But he is a bit of a softie. Hope that changes as he matures.
  4. I will believe Yoan is able to play 155+ games when I see it.
  5. Even if you project Robert and Madrigal to be 4 WAR players in their rookie seasons (which is incredibly generous), and assume replacement level players are replacing them in the meantime, we're talking about less than 1 win during that timeframe. Punting a year of control on Robert and Madrigal for a couple weeks of games is so incredibly shortsighted at this point. Try to take the long view on things.
  6. I imagine the Sox have the sights set a little higher than Alex Wood on the final SP add at this point. Plenty of payroll space - should be around $92-93M range assuming Gio is in the $4-6M range.
  7. Not yet. Also surprised nothing has leaked on that, but I would be surprised if its more than $6M.
  8. Unless he is like god awful, I think the Sox will give Cease all of 2020 in the rotation.
  9. Does Arenado really even have much surplus value?
  10. Honestly, I am fine trading Vaughn if the return is mid to top rotation pre-arb or arb1 SP. Not exactly sure who would fit that description that could be available tho. Trading Madrigal makes zero sense.
  11. Gio is actually covered by CAA not Boras.
  12. David Price by himself is worth about -$50M.
  13. Had to step away for awhile. No word on dollars yet? Looks like 1 year deal has been confirmed.
  14. And FG projects Nova at 1.3 fWAR for 2020. WAR is a counting stat - and they project Gio to throw 150 IP. Nova pitched nearly 200 last year. FG has Nova at 165 IP on the 1.3 fWAR projection. So, in other words, they prefer Gio.
  15. Having too many SP is a good problem to have and certainly one the Sox will be happy to address if need be. Guys get hurt. Guys are ineffective. Shit happens. But I do think you pretty much hit the nail on the head on why the Sox aren't super keen on backing up the truck for a long term deal for sketchy long term assets like Ryu and Keuchel.
  16. Really only appeared at 3B, 1B and DH in the bigs. Played a handful of innings at 2B, but not much. No OF.
  17. They're never going to officially say this until they option him to the minors in March. So no. But the people in charge have alluded to it many times. So yah, Kopech is going to be in AAA. Stop penciling him into your OD rotations.
  18. I liked him if only because I feel he could be a decent pen piece once we no longer needed him in the rotation. But I am totally good with Gonzalez.
  19. For about the 1,000th time, Kopech is starting in AAA.
  20. Thanks Bennett. You can go back to Twitter now.
  21. He's also a ground ball machine and has really limited homers. He is a good fit for the Cell.
  22. How anyone could be mad about this move is just so silly.
