Interesting…had not seen that yet.  Actually makes sense though as it sounds like Robert will miss at least two months.

I read someone surmise Robert to the 60-day IL

I doubt it. Getz literally said Friday that Robert may only miss 6 weeks. Seems unlikely to make that statement and then guarantee 8 weeks 72 hours later. Davis Martin 60 day is my guess.

And good for the Sox to secure the extra year. 32 starts of a potentially decent to good SP in a potentially competitive season >>>>> 2 more starts in a punted one.

yeah, that one guy is literally named "bum" and is making $6mil. looks like he's taking a step in the right direction though, his ERA is down to 5!

With a 1.7 whip. I like Bummer, and I think the Sox did fine on that trade. Soroka has been disappointing but Soroka, Schuster and Shewmake alone were a very reasonable gamble.

Why didn't they just put Moncada on 60-day IL and call up Remillard to begin with rather than waste Colas' time?

I think the idea was that they didn’t know the extent of Yoans injury until the next day and Colas was the only healthy position player on the 40 man. But yeah…we’re on same page that Colas should have just stayed.

At Charlotte he has clearly been the better of the two. He’s also a better defender and has experience in the outfield.

They probably don’t want to lose Mendick and don’t really care if they have to DFA Remillard again in a few days when Eloy is ready.

Reinsdorf liked him and knew who he was. haha.

I would have loved it if they did a full exhaustive search.... but just because I didn't agree with the way he got the job... or that he got the job at all (!), I'm not going to waste calories trying to bash everything the guy does to prove I was right.

I actually like some of the things he's done since he took over.  Its pretty obvious that the plan this season was to find pitching and field a lineup of guys who can defend, and hope the three hurt morons finally stayed healthy.  I don't believe he was dumb enough to think the team was going to be good.  So far, the pitching has been ok.  By the end of the year, I think we'll have a decent idea of our staff moving forward.  They'll bring up Montgomery and Ramos and we can see how they look in addition to a guy like Fletcher.

If we could see the following lineup by August, it could be mildly interesting to watch.

C : Lee, 1B: AV, 2B: Sosa, SS: Montgomery, 3B: Ramos, LF: Beni, CF: Robert, RF: Colas/Fletcher, DH: Eloy/Sheets

    BN: Sheets, Fletcher/Colas, Stassi/Maldonado, Shewmake/Lopez

So when's the next Colas Call-up going to be?

    My guess is before 5/15.

Hopefully.  He should be playing RF every single day to be honest.  There is zero good reason to play Grossman and/or Pillar over Colas at this point.  If the Sox had started 8-4 or something, I could see the arguement.  I was fine with Colas starting in AAA this year.  But considering the injuries and state of the roster, Colas should absolutely be playing.  Even if he boned Pedro's daughter, or whatever he did to get deep in the doghouse.

I thought this was a discussion about Colas?

P.S. Did he actually get optioned? Or bad reporting?

He got optioned.  Its listed on Sox website under transactions.

    I bet they activate Stassi.

Why? Guy has hardly played in Charlotte, routinely getting pulled mid game and not hitting at all.

Good.  I've seen more than enough of Colas.  I want to see what DeLoach can do.

Lol, yeah that 246 PA sample is surely enough to write him off for good!

Your complete flip flop from hating every move the Sox make to now championing every move is quite comical.

Really stupid, but its kind of funny that a baseball reporter doesn't know how options work.

I don't understand how these injure lists work. If he's going to be out potentially the entire season why is he being put on the 10 day list?

You can shift from 10 to 60. Once Sox need a 40 man spot, they’ll shift Yoan to the 60 day. As for why they wouldn’t just automatically put him on 60 day? Idk, I’ve wondered the same myself but I guess it’s effectively the same thing since they can shift him there immediately if/when needed.

"White Sox sign Mike Moustakas to MLB deal."

Nah, but I’d sign Yoan to a milb deal next year tho. Someone’s gonna get a good year out of Yoan at some point. Feel like the Sox deserve it. But moving on is completely understandable, too.

I'm going to ask the question:

Did Getz f*** up by not trading Robert this winter?

I know none of us wanted to trade him this winter at the prices that were being floated around, but now what are they getting? Anything at all? For all we know he might end up in a Moncada situation next year and his option isn't going to get picked up.

LOLzzzzz  Your takes are something else.
