  1. White Sox's pursuit of impact RH bat (Yoenis Cespedes/Justin Upton) might lead to Jeff Samardzija trade, either in 3-team deal or 2 trades. https://twitter.com/philgrogers/status/627162584370814976
  2. I really hope the sox are at least entertaining both buying and selling. If they can't get a bat that they need at least be still listening on shark in case someone offers them something good.
  3. If #Padres don't get what they want for Upton, they'll keep him and get draft pick;the #Tigers more urgent on Cespedes since no compensation https://twitter.com/BNightengale/status/627156078082404352
  4. If #Padres don't get what they want for Upton, they'll keep him and get draft pick;the #Tigers more urgent on Cespedes since no compensation https://twitter.com/BNightengale/status/627156078082404352
  5. price tag is high on cespedes. belief is, with orioles, they'd seek gausman. last guy o's want to trade. https://twitter.com/JonHeymanCBS/status/627145252000940032 It's probably going to be even higher for sox.
  6. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 10:30 AM) I'm starting to wonder if maybe the Sox should deal Samardzija. The Sox have some tough teams between them and the second wild card. And the issue is the teams are making moves to get better. Sox have been sitting on the sideline going are we in or are we out
  7. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 09:55 AM) There is no chance Tim Anderson is the starting SS on opening day 2016 for the Sox. It will be Alexei. Maybe, just maybe, it Alexei sucks balls, they'll call up Anderson midseason, or maybe, they'll let Saladino or Sanchez give it a go, but it won't be Anderson. Admittedly, I haven't watched Anderson in person, but by all accounts he is extremely raw. His defense has improved ten fold since last season, but he'd still be an absolute butcher at SS in the majors. Give him time. They should play saladino at short or some other fill in next year if anderson isn't ready. Already learned this year that ramirez should have been gone and that 10 million next year is way to much for him. Can use that money for some of the more needs around the team.
  8. Sources: #Mets worked into night on trade for #Reds’ Bruce. Expectation among many in industry is that deal will happen. https://twitter.com/Ken_Rosenthal/status/627094860521164800
  9. QUOTE (woods of ypres @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 12:58 AM) I really hope that the guys the Reds got from SF, and the Tigers from TOR aren't the deals we walked away from because we got hot. I wouldn't be surprised if the sox did. Probably will still getting offers today cause teams still are desperate for starting pitching.
  10. QUOTE (Springfield SoxFan @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 06:55 AM) If the Sox trade for Upton or Cespedes and give up Anderson, Montas, or Hawkins it clearly shows that KW and not Hahn is running the show. I want the the Sox to win desperately, but player development needs to be the key trait of this organization. If the Sox were in first place by five games, different story. I'm pretty sure I read that anderson will not go for cespedes or upton. Hopefully not montas either. Hawkins I'm starting to think he might not turn out much into anything. He has pop but doesn't hit for average and his still striking out a ton over is last 3 season
  11. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 10:03 PM) Same here. The overreaction after the inevitable loss, while expected, is still mind-boggling. My overreacting isn't over the fact of a bad loss but the fact of looking at a small portion of 25 games against consistently bad for most of the year. Again the sox have to win a lot of game the rest of the year to contend. They've shown winning for a stretch of the last 25 games but alot of losing before that. Maybe they changed but time will tell.
  12. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 10:02 PM) Which is what Upton/Cespedes would help. The fact that we're under .500 is irrelevant when we're what, 2.5, 3 games out of a playoff spot? So you replace one bad bat with a better one but still have holes. And yes being under .500 is relevant cause the can't consistently win to get over it and stay there
  13. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 09:59 PM) Yes, but it's also very hard to give up on a team that was built to contend and has won 17 of 26 games. And yet the team is still under .500 with quit a bit of offensive holes
  14. QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 09:53 PM) There's only one piece to sell. That Samardzija. You might as well listen to offers. If something blows them out of the water, do it, otherwise, this team has nothing really to sell. With so many teams needing pitchers somebody hopefully should make a decent offer. Heck the jays are still trying for more starting pitching. Yankees need it horribly after sending nova to dl
  15. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 09:50 PM) Still 17-9 since the first Cardinals series And yet they are still under .500 and have been for the majority of the year
  16. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 09:49 PM) Yes, it should have... we were literally inches away from being 3-3 those games, and don't forget we went something like 9-3 right before that 1-5 stretch. What the actual shows is how inconsistent this team is. They win some then play bad then play good.
  17. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 09:45 PM) Losing one game shouldn't change their minds Yes but going winning 7 games in a row after starting off the Second half going 1-5 shouldn't have changed their mines either
  18. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 09:43 PM) Lets get to .500 and go from there.............Sox brass in a very tough spot tonight, should be interesting to see. Last time they were at .500 was may 17 and 19. They unfortunately went 1-7 their next 8 game after
  19. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 09:18 PM) Need to take 2 of 3 this weekend at least. Keep winning series and things will work out Sox will still be under .500 even taking 2 of 3. Sox need to win and do it in bunches
  20. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 09:01 PM) .500 is so f***ing elusive. That's what is disappointing Not that elusive. They were there twice this year. Tho last time they were on this type of winning streak to finally get over .500 the lost like 6 in a row.
  21. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 01:11 PM) It's very quiet. Almost too quiet. Makes me think something huge is in the works. Probably just going to stand pat to drive us nuts
  22. By the way: Tyson Ross left after five innings because a comebacker hit him in the thigh and it tightened up. No trade there. Yet. https://twitter.com/JeffPassan/status/626589238285484033
  23. Gomez's camp was told a trade was done pending physicals. I assume the physicals were not approved. #Brewers #Mets https://twitter.com/Joelsherman1/status/626588920382402560 People are saying it's probably wheelers medical stuff that might of stopped the trade
  24. All those tears were for naught, Wilmer. https://twitter.com/JeffPassan/status/626587983026724864
