  1. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 12, 2016 -> 02:52 PM) Sabes people can say that all they want. The baseball announcers and writers go by wins and losses and ERA and strikeout vs. walk totals. And those announcers are moronic and sound stupid.
  2. There was one where the kid looked like he robbed it but he didn't. It didn't get counted and Frazier even called a timeout a few pitches later asking if it got out.
  3. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 10, 2016 -> 08:19 PM) I'd be surprised if he doesn't start next Sunday in Anaheim. He looked very good and the other options aren't that good. Why is this the date? Can't they run out Sale, Q, Shields, and Gonzalez Friday-Monday? (Also, I get that 2 of those guys may pitch in the All-Star game, but that shouldn't discount them from throwing the first 2 games of the next half. Edit: or did they already announce the rotation for next half?
  4. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Jul 9, 2016 -> 09:46 AM) Fulmer one start maybe and then moved to pen when Rodon comes back I can dig it.
  5. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jul 8, 2016 -> 08:49 PM) Fatigue has always been an issue with Sale in July/August. He's an ace, but I wish they would manage his innings better. He has such a heavy workload that he's bound to slip up sometimes. They HAVE done a great job of handling his inning workload every year.
  6. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jul 8, 2016 -> 08:01 PM) Sale wouldn't pitch in the All Star Game if it was up to me. He looks gassed tonight and needs some extended rest. Pitchers throw on the side anyway. He can throw an inning in the All Star game and then throw Saturday or Sunday and it is extended rest.
  7. QUOTE (daggins @ Jul 8, 2016 -> 05:42 PM) I'd actually prefer to trade for his inverse, Jon Jay. Jay is a better fielder with less power, and left handed. Both are hurt now, though, which makes them tough to trade. Wish they would have just given up a bit more and gotten Jay along with Shields in that trade.
  8. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Jul 8, 2016 -> 10:14 AM) http://m.milb.com/video/907111583/?vref=redirector Link of the video Please be better than Avi. Please be better than Avi.
  9. QUOTE (FT35 @ Jul 8, 2016 -> 08:24 AM) You're right...I think Eaton is the best "leadoff hitter" for this team as far as OBP. However, if he's up 2nd, what difference does it make? You still have your top 2 table setters causing havoc at the top of your order--both of them are tough outs and demand attention on the bases. Eaton gets on base more, but we will soon see that Anderson turns singles into doubles QUITE often with his base stealing ability. You can make a case for either. I actually think it is smart for now to have Eaton batting 2nd instead of Anderson because there are so many roles the 2nd spot plays. Hitting first allows Anderson to get up with 1 focus--get on base. Leave the situational hitting up to Eaton to move Anderson over or draw a walk in front of Abreu. If Anderson's power continues to develop and he keeps getting his hits, you might eventually see him hit 3rd in more of a run producer spot. The only other spot you put a low OBP guy is 7-9 and I think you want to see him bat more than that. In my opinion, he's a top of the order guy that you want to maximize his ABs and like you said, over time let him learn to be more selective. Yeah as of now I wouldn't change anything. But if they were to acquire another OBP type of bat, you could put that bat leadoff or second and move Anderson down in the order to lengthen the lineup. For now I guess it does make sense to not mess with anything
  10. Here's to a Sale CG. Last start before break where he will get some time off (besides a possible inning or 2 in all star game hopefully).
  11. I love what Tim Anderson has done so far but what is the ideal spot in the batting order for him? If his obp is mostly going to stay close to what his batting average is, he needs to hit like .330 to be considered a good leadoff hitter in my opinion. A .301 obp from your leadoff hitter is not good. Edit: I do know he may make adjustments and become more patient over time but I'm mostly talking for now.
  12. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 7, 2016 -> 09:21 PM) Abreu was .972/.948. Weren't his homers down though? I was kinda aiming more towards the homers. My bad.
  13. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Jul 7, 2016 -> 12:47 PM) http://nypost.com/2016/07/06/yankees-prosp...-got-suspended/ The White Sox inquired on Wednesday about Yankees catching prospect Gary Sanchez. The talks never got serious when, a source in the know said, the Yankees’ asking price was “far too high.’’ The White Sox are looking for a catcher after placing Alex Avila on the 15-day disabled list with a hamstring injury. What would be considered "too high?" If they want a top pitching prospect or two, it could be worth it to bring in another top position player into the org.
  14. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 7, 2016 -> 07:02 PM) 2015 Before playing home run derby/ after playing home run derby Frazier=0.922/0.644 Rizzo=0.955/0.833 Pederson=0.851/0.617 Pujols=0.855/0.707 Donaldson=0.844/1.011 bryant=0.848/0.867 machado=0.886/0.832 Fielder=0.924/0.742 How'd Abreu do the second half of 2014 compared to the first half when he chose not to participate? Most on here were glad he didn't do the derby in fear it would hurt him in the second half. If he had participated, everyone would have pointed at the derby as the reason why he wasn't hitting the same. Could be other factors we just don't know.
  15. (In before angry rants and pitchforks) Edit: didn't take long haha
  16. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jul 7, 2016 -> 07:06 AM) If they're going to limit his innings they might as well give him a taste of the MLB. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 7, 2016 -> 07:11 AM) Agree 100%, especially when he's likely to be a sizable upgrade over Beck & Ynoa. Can you imagine adding him and Burdi to our playoff push? And possibly another acquisition for the pen?
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 6, 2016 -> 03:23 PM) whitesoxdave ‏@barstoolWSD 10m10 minutes ago Chicago, IL Buster Olney just said on ESPN Radio the White Sox should sell high with Quintana to the BoSox and that they'd def overpay #Benintendi Depending on how we play over the next 3 and a half weeks, I might agree
  18. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 5, 2016 -> 04:54 PM) I'm honored to have 3 rivalries, lol. We need to bring back Marty34, TheUltimateChampion and LDF. I'd add "GreenSox/Heroes and Anti-Heroes" rivalry with many. Greg vs. Las Vegas Back in the good 'ol days, Ncorgbl/Sat46 vs. Everyone at chisox.com For my money, Disappearing Balta vs. the Collective Conscience of the Remaining, More Pro Sox moderating team...because it encapsulates the fight for A CLEAR direction to be set by Sox organization in and for the future. LIP vs. Younger Generation who don't have as much respect for "traditional" journalism Greg vs. Hillary Clinton (pretty sure he's losing that one) Hickory Huskers vs. Rock (sad misunderstanding, and a good example why taking any of this online stuff TOO seriously is probably bad for your health) Thad Bosley vs. 35 Years of Sox history under Reinsdorf/Einhorn Fathom vs. the Cubs I died at this comment.
  19. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 6, 2016 -> 01:17 PM) Hopefully he heals quickly. The good news is there are about as many off days in this 15 days as any. Certainly. And being a catcher, you get more days off more often than other positions so it's really not that terrible.
  20. Isn't it possible Q can still make it? Surely someone will pitch on Sat or Sunday and be unavailable, no?
  21. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 6, 2016 -> 09:03 AM) Yes, let's consider him guilty before all the facts come out. Brilliant. Must be the same guy who said Kane was 100% guilty.
