  1. QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Jul 28, 2014 -> 05:01 PM) Just sign him in the off-season without having to give up anything of value. If you think Danks has been bad, Masterson has been awful. One year plus option? Maybe Coop can fix him and get him back on track.
  2. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 28, 2014 -> 03:20 PM) I don't know what C means but I'm all for A. South Park reference
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 28, 2014 -> 10:27 AM) Buster Olney ‏@Buster_ESPN 55m Some rival officials feel that the Dodgers' best chance to move Kemp is to tie him to one of their elite prospects in a deal. To assess Matt Kemp's current value, asked 2 execs what they'd give him as a free agent today. 1st response:2 years, $16m; 2nd: 2 yrs, $15m. There's a growing expectation from rival execs that Jon Lester is going to be traded before Jdeadline; LAD viewed as likely landing spot. Is this a thread suggesting that we should try to bring him in under these circumstances?
  4. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jul 28, 2014 -> 08:15 AM) I'm not worried about who takes Danks' spot this year. I'm worried about who takes his spot in 2015-16*. If the trade doesn't net somebody who will do that, then it doesn't make sense to trade him. * Don't say Rodon. Rodon fills one of the other two holes in the rotation. I don't count Rodon as I don't even think he will be up til about May to start. Obviously Sale and Quintana are locks, maybe a Noesi or Rienzo or other minor league deal kind of signing as 5th, one of those guys or Erik Johnson as a place holder for Rodon (depending on Spring Training performances), and I think we also end up signing a RHP. Who it will be? Who knows.
  5. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 27, 2014 -> 11:51 PM) Phils's right - there is zero pitching depth. Still, if we get a couple of young pitchers for him and we hit FA, twie'd still be better off. They've got depth just not good depth. Knowing we aren't going anywhere this year, if they traded Danks for a couple of prospects and tossed out Wang or Rienzo every 5 days I could live with that until the off-season to fix it.
  6. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 27, 2014 -> 09:25 PM) The last few pages have been fantastic. I think the fact that people defend Beckham is fantastic/hilarious
  7. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jul 27, 2014 -> 06:48 PM) I'm not against trading Danks, but for me the price needs to be hefty. They have shed enough salary that they don't have an urgent need to dump his, and he can be a #4 starter on a contending team in 15-16. Need at least a Top 50-75 prospect for him. Eh they could pay someone half of what he is making to put up his kind of numbers.
  8. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 26, 2014 -> 03:50 PM) Semien needs to be the starting 2B come August 1st. I can't deal with Beckham any longer than that I can see him getting playing time in August and then when September hits, Sanchez can come up too.
  9. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jul 25, 2014 -> 09:01 PM) Hooray! Anywhere but Chicago! Ironically enough he will be in Chicago tomorrow
  10. Yankees are talking to Padres and Rockies about Kennedy and de La Rosa. Hope talks can heat up with us.
  11. Andy Wilkins for left-handed bat!
  12. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 24, 2014 -> 03:25 PM) If only we still had Addison Reed He's been bad this season....
  13. QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Jul 24, 2014 -> 01:55 PM) Probably not. I see Dunn going in August as a waiver claim
  14. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 24, 2014 -> 02:14 PM) Either Jack Z is crazy or he really believes that only left handed hitters can have success at SafeCo. Except Morales is a switch hitter Jack
  15. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 12:59 PM) I feel like Jonny Gomes would make Tank redundant in Boston. I don't see a fit either.
  16. QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Jul 21, 2014 -> 12:53 PM) We'll see, this could be just a 10 day audition to determine whether they need to make a move or not. Let's hope Beckham has the best 10-day stretch in his career. Of course the Beckham lovers would all come out of hiding and say that we need to keep him haha
  17. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 21, 2014 -> 12:45 PM) Uggla to the Giants. So that could take them out of middle infield trade targets. Just came here to post this. Guess he's worth a shot at league minimum over Beckham.
  18. Does Hawk have to mention how great Abreu has been on D every game? It was probably a ploy from a scout of a team yhat wanted him to drive the price down anyway...
  19. QUOTE (WKamm @ Jul 19, 2014 -> 01:35 PM) I'd like to see Charlie Blackmon on the Sox, but I don't believe we have enough to offer COL for him. Agree, he would be a good fit.
  20. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jul 18, 2014 -> 01:54 PM) I think they like La Stella, though. Yeah doubt they have plans for trading for Beckham especially while still paying Uggla next year. They can play La Stella for minimum.
  21. Keep him. Let him work on left field in off season and let him get at bats between DH/1B/3B/LF next season.
  22. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jul 14, 2014 -> 02:47 PM) Maybe if we are that intent on trading our DP combo it would behoove us to wait until after the season. I think there is too much pressure mid-season and we might not get a good return. I think Adam Dunn is the exception as far as waiting unless we figure on a new deal at less money Beckham isn't going to suddenly become a better trade asset than he is now.
  23. If they don't get any good offers, I hope they don't just give him away for best offer. He's not very expensive and we need a shortstop if he is moved. I have a feeling he won't be.
  24. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 12, 2014 -> 05:41 PM) Deunte Heath. All of the reporters are saying it will be a position player. Carlos Sanchez was pulled from the Charlotte lineup. Yeah i meant Duente Heath. Would Sanchez be called up to play short tomorrow?
  25. Guessing Duente Heath as a fresh bullpen arm. Why else was he scratched?
