  1. QUOTE (SoxSteve @ Dec 8, 2016 -> 12:17 PM) Who cares about next year. I hope we win only 60 games and get the first pick in the draft. That is unless Q and some of the rest our still on the roster and in that case i want those specific players to do good so we get more in return. I wouldn't burn anyone's service time anyway in case they turn out to be real good. Rodon and Anderson are the players i want to excell. If Leury Garcia get a game winning hit I'm not going to be excited if that makes sense. i don't care about next season but there is a fan base out there that isn't educated about this rebuild and think that these prospects are going to help next season. that's all i'm saying. i'm not saying it's you or anyone specifically. i'm just reading a lot of ignorant comments from people on different outlets NOT in here.
  2. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Dec 8, 2016 -> 12:09 PM) Anyone expect Q to get dealt today? doesn't sound like HOU wants to deal, so i'd say no.
  3. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 8, 2016 -> 12:04 PM) Cant help it, Im too worried about attendance next season so i get grouchy but it's posters like you that make South Side Sox a much better place to get my Sox news from.
  4. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 8, 2016 -> 12:04 PM) Cant help it, Im too worried about attendance next season so i get grouchy did i SPECIFICALLY say YOU in any part of this. my comments were directed towards fans i've seen on twitter, instagram, facebook, and OTHER outlets NOT on ST who are expecting this team to be good next year with all these prospects. but you took that and ran with it. turned my comments into some personal attack directed at you when it wasn't. kudos bruh.
  5. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 8, 2016 -> 11:58 AM) Honestly, i still dont care. I am all in on the youth movement and I am ready for a s***ty season because I have dealt with s***ty seasons for the past 8 years. Thanks for telling us all to tap the brakes though, we all appreciate it. None of us would have known that some prospects dont pan out if you didnt tell us and thanks for being a condescending dick.
  6. this is my biggest concern with White Sox fans. will they have the patience to see this all the way through? because this isn't going to be (realistically) good again for at least 2-3 more years, maybe 4 depending on how the development comes along. if the scouts are right and let's say a little more than 1/2 of the prospects we get in return after all is said and done, we'll be in MUCH better shape than we would have been with the same roster as last season en route to winning 75 games.
  7. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 8, 2016 -> 11:28 AM) Who cares? Were the seats gonna be full if everything stayed Status Quo? Nope. people expectations need to be tempered because i see a LOT of people talking about how exciting next year or 2018 is going to be when in reality these kids aren't ready to play in the big leagues yet. come back to me when you see the roster this upcoming season and let me know how many games you plan on going to.
  8. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Dec 8, 2016 -> 10:47 AM) I agree with you. Fans hated that teams inability to win. There was a glimmer early last year but then it did not fade, it crashed and burned over a three week span. Fans will tune in to see what is happening. If things break for the Sox as they did for the cubs, in 2020, they could be the best team in baseball. Nobody went last year, it really could nto get any worse at the game. but NONE of these kids are going to break with the team after ST ends. they all need more development. i'm sure next year's roster is going to look pretty s***ty, so i'm not sure that's worth going to watch. and in all honestly, upper management deserves the empty seats next season for all the s*** we've endured as fans paying for a craptastic products since 2005.
  9. QUOTE (guapotaco @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 04:28 PM) Nationals Twitter is so funny right now. Keep refreshing, keep seeing the new anger
  10. QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 04:09 PM) According to this ranking we got their 1 and 3 best prospects. http://m.mlb.com/prospects/2015?list=was but the top position player and the top pitching prospect.
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 03:52 PM) Without Turner or Robles, we have to be talking about a quantity type of deal, otherwise I am going to be pretty pissy about the return. i hope Turner is the main return piece, but i'm sure they aren't giving him up for Eaton.
  12. QUOTE (Baron @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 03:50 PM) It would be hilarious if some other team swooped in now and got him. The Nationals deserve it. Well...mainly Rizzo but same difference. watch the Cards swoop in and offer us Weaver + Bader/Perez + Carson Kelly!
  13. QUOTE (TheFutureIsNear @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 03:48 PM) Ok so what's the infatuation with a light hitting catcher like Severino? It it just desperation for a C in general or am I missing something? scouts think he can possibly hit for a decent average, but say he was the best defensive catcher in the minors last season FWIW.
  14. QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 03:47 PM) Servino is a defensive catcher who's bat is way behind developing. I just don't get why we wouldn't insist on position players. I get pitching is king but man we need some hitters to go with these guys. but do you really see Collins being that guy behind the plate? i've read his defense is lacking behind the plate.
  15. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 03:19 PM) Soxtalk translation at the moment is any prospect that isn't Trea Turner, Benintendi, Swanson, Urias or Bregman are second tier.
  16. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 03:12 PM) To be fair, Eaton has never won a GG. Q has never finished higher than 10th (2016) in Cy Young contention and nobody has suggested trading them for second level minor league players. yeah we're talking about top-tier prospects that are close to being MLB ready in a year or two.
  17. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 02:51 PM) I mean, that's fine, but you can't expect to receive a top 10 P and a top 3 OF in 2016 without moving him. They would be acquiring 2 all-star caliber, major award-caliber players. Keep Turner, but no shot at those 2 paired together. ^^^THIS
  18. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 01:17 PM) Maybe this is Rizzo try to waste RH/KW's time after they used him to perfection yesterday. if that's the case, then you leverage the players you want from WSH and you use that as your benchmark for dealing with any other teams. the White Sox are dealing from a position of power. they have the pieces other teams want. there's no need to rush or settle for anything less than what Hahn wants.
  19. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 08:00 AM) A potential dodgers-chisox deal could be bigger (Frazier, robertson) but LA's top targets r jansen, turner for closer, 3B https://twitter.com/JonHeyman/status/806496502596124673 i could see them being moved to LA. people who don't think Robertson has value are crazy. once some of these other closer names come off the board, the market will be there for him. he's a quality closer and can get the job done for most teams.
  20. if the Cardinals are interested in Eaton, what do people know about their catcher Carson Kelly? i saw some rumors yesterday that he would be a piece the Sox might be interested in acquiring if a trade happened.
  21. I'm OK with the trade (I wish Sale the best of luck) because we got some nice pieces in return (Moncada #1 prospect in baseball, Kopech throws over 100 mph) but it remains to be seen how successful this off-season will be depending on what other moves Hahn can make (e.g. Quintana, Eaton, Frazier, Jones, and Robertson).
  22. ESPN Chicago this morning... "We will consider any trade, with any team, that improves the Chicago White Sox,” Hahn told the media, including Paul Sullivan of the Chicago Tribune. "As I have said many times over the years, we are always open to discussing trades with all 29 other clubs. We even have completed trades within our division, despite facing these teams 19 times a year, and while trades between the Cubs and White Sox will always draw heightened scrutiny and attention, it makes no sense for us to ever eliminate any potential trading partners." Buster Olney is an idiot.
  23. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 1, 2016 -> 08:59 AM) Gleyber Torres is on the Yankees. Do you mean Eloy Jimenez? ahh...yes. we could use an OF in the deal instead of a SS. thanks.
