Uhhhh have you noticed the date that this thread and most of the posts started?
On the previous page, it literally jumps from "March 1" to "5 hours ago" (earlier today almost 3 months later).
good point. LOL

i sometimes HATE coming to this board and read people talk shit about our guys. Giolito has found something positive in his pitching, he's having success with it, so i just don't understand why Sox fans can't be happy about it and support what he's accomplished since coming back from the hamstring injury.
i understand how difficult it is to be a Sox fan, but a lot of you SERIOUSLY need therapy. 😂

I think if you sign Keuchel to a 3 year deal, you're waving goodbye to Rodon. I'm fine with that. He's too unreliable.
agreed. i just don't think he's THE ace we need to anchor this pitching staff for the future. and if he's not then, then he's expendable imo.
-
with Rodon going down, for what i'm guessing is the rest of the season, does it make sense at this point for the the Sox to just add a veteran to the rotation like Keuchel after the June draft? i feel like we're just treading water again with all of these injuries.

love how bi-polar this team has been so far this season. of course i turned the game off after the top of the 8th and they come back.
happy to see them stick it out and steal another walk-off win.

i'm not digging through 32 pages of comments, but i'm sure someone already asked - why did Renteria not go with Herrera in the 8th?

Gio to sign with the Yanks on a $3M deal...
do we not have $3M in the coffers? seems like Gio is a low risk, high return type of player at this point...
hmmm...

well worth the money if you base it off what Machado and Harper just got.
Trout is way better than both of them.

If it would only cost that much it would be a steal.
but a 31 year old pitcher just coming off a 1-year deal with 2.62 WAR is going to get more than $13M
-
i would love to have Keuchel in our rotation, but i don't see us acquiring him.
he made $13M last season and i just don't see us spending anywhere near that to sign him.

MM is not turning down $200M+ to take a 1 year deal. I promise you.
if the "market" (or lack thereof) this year dictates it, why not? he'll still get a big contract this season and still be worth over $200M next season and may have more suitors next season.

I think this only has to do with the Sox not caving in to Lozano's demands. The Sox seem more than willing to wait this out. No doubt Lozano is doing everything he can to draw in other bidders or to scare the Sox into increasing their offer. It doesn't seem like he's succeeding in either, unless you buy the legitimacy of the "mystery team". But it seems to me that mystery teams only show up when actual teams can't be found.
Manny isn't sitting out 2019, and he's not signing a short term deal. IMO, the longer this goes on, the better the Sox position. At some point, Lozano is going to have to re-engage the Sox on their current offer.
OR the more likely MM signs a 1-year deal with someone and tries his hand at the market next season in hopes that it's better.

If stone retires I hope they can convince konerko. I've been really impressed with him
would LOVE to hear Paulie call games for us if he were interested in the job.

My overall problem with Benetti & Stone is the age difference and how that gap plays out in the booth.
Stone is a little more than twice as old as Benetti, and had finished his MLB pitching career and was already in the Cubs’ booth with Harry Caray before Benetti was born. So they are hardly peers in one sense.
Yet Benetti engages and often needles Stone in a way you might expect two old college roommates would at Benetti’s current age. It seems awkward at many points in any given broadcast when the 71 year-old Stone tries to play off that approach.
I like the fact that the two genuinely seem to enjoy one another’s company in the booth. I just wish they could develop a better dynamic between them that was more age appropriate to both.

I'm not a big fan either. He's okay but he's not nearly as funny as he thinks he is.
i think he has a great baseball voice, he just needs to temper some of the b.s. about his toys and giveaways and sometimes concede the arguments he tends to get into with Stoney.

what a shit show this is becoming. i mean i care about the team, but this is becoming such a turn-off to sports in general.
squabbling over money that these kids aren't even going to be able to spend in a lifetime.

For anyone not following along on Twitter (lucky you), some Sox fans were tweeting and Hector Gomez about everything that keeps coming out regarding MM and he's still not backing down and defending his sources, FWIW.

god i hope so. because i find it EXTREMELY difficult to believe the Sox only offered $175M and someone out there should be held responsible for posting these lies.

or maybe the White Sox are setting a new standard and starting a new trend to ensure that these crazy contracts stop getting so high.

might as well throw in Gio Gonzalez into that mix as well.
