  1. Really do not like the idea of trading Burger or Sheets for a rental A few months of Escobar should not end up being all that costly
  2. Not a fan of either of these trades. Seems like a pretty poor use of assets, especially Burger/Sheets/Kelley
  3. Madrigal will never have the power to become a true star, but he absolutely could be an annual 4 ish WAR guy Moncada still has the greater upside
  4. Guessing today, EE and a reliever
  5. Sheets/Burger have both outperformed expectations since getting called up. I'm not sure where either will get consistent at bats once Jimenez/Robert come back, but it is a good problem to have
  6. Baez looks foolish to not accept that deal right now
  7. Some team may be desperate enough for pitching to overpay Rodon, but I do think the extensive injury history and short track record of elite performance will give most clubs pause on a big money deal. Sox best bet is to offer the QO and see how things play out
  8. A rebuilding club absolutely could give him a shot. The power is legit, and even modest hit tool improvement could lead to him being a viable corner OF.
  9. Me too. Cannot argue with stupid
  10. If I had to guess the trade deadline haul it would be Escobar and possibly a pen arm (not necessarily in the same trade) Sox may aim higher, but I think they will find pricetags too steep
  11. Sox twitter can have some real meatballs on it
  12. Twitter debate going on right now I'm a bit surprised at how many Sox fans seemingly would do this deal for Frazier. It's a hard no for me. Burger/Stiever/Ramos/Rodriguez/Dalquist for Frazier E6boObpXMAwDQFM.jfif
  13. I don't see Gallo to the Sox happening 2B or bullpen help seem more pressing needs
  14. Escobar makes a ton of sense as a rental. Cost cannot possibly be all that high.
  15. Is Ramos capable in the field? Huge difference to his prospect status vs. if he can only DH
  16. Walker's .738 OPS is not horrible, but he also turns 25 years old at the end of the month. To profile even as a 4th or 5th outfielder he would need to start hitting better
  17. I'd bet against the farm improving much during our competitive window. Prospects will be used in trades to bolster the MLB roster. It's the reality of building a championship club outside of the Dodgers/Rays, who are in another league in terms of scouting/development.
  18. Is he THAT bad in the field? Would be a major knock if so
  19. Agreed. Many scouting departments dock a prospect big time as a 19 year old prep player. The advantage of being 19 and playing against majority 17-18 year olds cannot be overstated.
  20. That is a crazy stat In fairness, a lack of pitching has been the reason why the Angels have been so mediocre the past decade. No excuse when you have Trout, Ohtani, Rendon
  21. Not a crazy take, but I'd argue Ramos has staked his claim as the best position prospect in the system (pre-draft). A 121 wRC+ in A ball at age 19 will certainly grab attention.
  22. Montgomery/Kath are likely in or near top 10 system prospects at this point, with Burke likely being in the top 15 The system has had so many graduations as of late that it should be no surprise that the cupboard is pretty bare. Colas signing will help over the winter, but this is still a bottom 5 farm.
  23. He's about as old as a draftee gets at age 25 already Test him and see what he has got
  24. Kath, McDougal and possibly Burke will be overslot deals
