  1. This is basically the same thing the Sox did with ReyLo a few years ago. He wasn’t cutting it as a starter, and then improved a lot out of the bullpen. Hopefully Kopech will be the same way so they can trade him for something.
  2. Yep. The only teams with actual 40 man crunches are teams like the Braves and Dodgers. Not the bottom feeding White Sox.
  3. I’m not even really referring to those guys. I’m more so referring the Tanner Banks, Sammy Peralta, Jesse Scholtens types. No one is going to be that devastated if those guys get claimed.
  4. And that’s fine. The White Sox still do not have a real crunch at the 40-man at the moment. They just don’t.
  5. It’s very easy to navigate right now. The Sox have tons of guys they could cut who would likely clear waivers and in the event that they don’t, it’s not some devastating loss. They should absolutely be using this time to upgrade the 40-man when possible.
  6. No they don’t. A real 40-man crunch implies they would lose someone of significance. This roster is trash and there are at least 10 guys they could cut today and very few people would care.
  7. Then who would they trade? It seems like everyone of significance is “off limits”
  8. This might be the first good post you’ve ever had on this forum.
  9. What, what? The pitching prospect the Mariners traded is not anywhere near the best.
  10. His scouting report didn’t seem that encouraging but now that he’s a Twin he will hit 30 homers and drive in 100 every year.
  11. Yeah I don’t want any more unathletic right handed hitters who can’t play defense.
  12. That is not an overly encouraging scouting report at all. No thanks.
  13. Is that what you’re hearing or just speculation on your part?
  14. Willing to bet that the vast majority of fans on social media have no idea who was behind that pick.
  15. Even if they do land Bellinger they still aren’t really any better than they were last season.
  16. I like it. Should be a good candidate to trade at the deadline assuming he’s decent.
  17. The thing that concerns me most with Bradish and Rodriguez are their workloads. Both guys pitched a lot more innings in 2023 than they did in 2022. Not sure how that will impact them going forward. Might not be a factor at all, but who knows. That’s why I think a guy like Cease fits them, you know he’s durable and will always take the ball so they can give other guys breaks if needed.
  18. There are just way too many question marks on that pitching staff for my liking. Bradish and Rodriguez: both had great seasons, but are relatively inexperienced. It’s not impossible that one or both of them takes a step back to some extent. Means: great pitcher, but has had a lot of injuries. Who knows what you’re getting from him at this point. Kremer: Decent, but not someone you want starting a playoff game. Wells: Tends to fade in the 2nd half. That’s not even getting to the bullpen which is obviously a lot weaker with the loss of Bautista. Bottom line, they need more pitching. Too many question marks right now for my liking.
