  1. At what point do we stop rooting for actual competitive players to be traded away for prospects that may or may not work out, and start actually rooting for winning baseball? Like I understand the rationale behind it, but we already did this once. Under the same ownership. It did not work. I guess people think this is the only hope this team has but, if Jerry didn't let it be successful the first time, why the hell would he let it be successful the second time?

Should have won both games. Pitching has not been that bad. If offense picks it up, they might win two in a row. Keep Sheets in the lineup.

If these guys could even be league average with hitting they probably would be at .500 with how decent the pitching has been, unfortunately they put out the worst offense ever assembled. I don't care how good your defense is, if you can't hit the fucking ball you're not going to score runs, and your product will not be interesting.

Playoffs are a crap shoot. All you can ask is that they put themselves in a position to make it and do damage. They did that for two seasons.

And we were promised multiple championships. This new rebuild happening under the same ownership group, what reason is there to believe we won't get similar results? Please show me why I should believe that these players will develop into what their potential says they will develop in to. What have the Sox done to improve in the area of developing young promising players?

And despite all that they were still a pennant contender for two seasons (a rare occurrence for this organization). Unfortunately, the peak was much shorter than expected but they had a legitimately strong roster for two seasons.

And didn't win any postseason series. It was a complete debacle. The only thing good to come out of that rebuild was TA's cornfield walk off, Gio's no-hitter, and Leury Legend's bomb in the post season game. That's it.

Wow - Sox fans advocating for the demise of our franchise so that Chicagoans can make a "Super Cubs" franchise a possibility.   Simply incredible.

I've said it before and it's worth repeating, the Sox must have the only fan base with diehards practically offering to drive the moving trucks out of town.  I guess that's what 43 years of emotional abuse at the hands of Jerry and Eddie will do.

Something somebody once said not too long ago...it's die-hard and not never-die. I think we are witnessing the very definition of fans dying hard to the team.

They are not a national laughing stock or national disgrace.  They are ignored.  They can’t even get their championship from twenty years ago recognized by local media.  Nobody nationally is paying enough attention to the White Sox to laugh at them.

I was reading a MLB article yesterday, they were talking about the AL Central. Went into detail about the other 4 teams, because they are actually somewhat interesting. The last sentence literally said "oh, and the white sox play in this division." And that was it 🤣 At least with Oakland they have the intrigue of playing in Sacramento, even if it is ridiculous, at least it's intriguing and a transition to something better than what they have now. You can actually put a timeline on seeing the light. You can't with this scrapheap of a team...because there is no timeline for change or success. It's just perpetual lukewarm, bland, mediocre, irrelevance, led by a bunch of people who have no idea what they are doing and every time they utter words, it confirms what everyone thinks and believes about their ability to ever put an actual major league team on the field, let alone a winning product.

"That moved me to the thought -- what is it I owe to the fans? I think one of the things I owe the fans is to get better as fast as we can possibly get better. Speed is of the essence. I don't want a long-term proposition.

"It became clear to me that he [Getz] would be one of the major candidates, alongside these other candidates. And then when I started thinking about the speed I owe the fans, I realized that if you bring in somebody from the outside, it's gonna take him a year, he's gonna have to evaluate everybody in the organization. So you'll lose a year."

I really, really hope someone has the balls to ask him about what he said.

Never in my lifetime did I ever imagine the White Sox being as bad as the 1962 Mets. This is all on the jerkoff of an owner we have and if the man cares this little about the franchise and it’s fans and has any conscience at all he must do the right thing and sell the club.

Either Jerry doesn't realize how bad it is (in which case he's either completely oblivious to the rest of the league, or too prideful to admit it), or he flat out doesn't care. Either way there is nothing we fans can do about it. When Jerry fired KW and RH last year, he literally said in response to questions about selling the team, that he doesn't play cards so what else would he do other than own the white sox. He won't be selling unless he admits he just cannot run a baseball team anymore, and gets over his stubbornness. Who knows, maybe this year will do it. If last year was the worst year of his ownership tenure, according to him, then this year would certainly have to beat last year. Until he's out of the picture we'll be forced to be a part of this losing culture...or we jump on another team's bandwagon lol.

Just don't think we should give up on Vaughn or send him to AAA based on 12 games.

That's all.  He's already pretty much a sunk cost for this season anyway.

That said...it's doubtful the Sox have anyone other than Frank Thomas in the studio to fix him, either.

    Konerko has already tried

I just meant when Eloy comes back and takes the DH spot back from Sheets. Don’t want him back in the OF (though I guess it doesn’t really matter at this point).

Sheets should not be in the outfield, nor should Vaughn, nor should Eloy. We still have the problem of too many 1st baseman/DH's. When Eloy comes back, if Sheets is still hitting like he is, it's my opinion that Vaughn should either be benched or sent to AAA to receive the playing time. If Sheets' bat is actually something and this past week is not a fluke, he should be the primary at 1B. He's left handed obviously and taller, which gives an edge over at first base, and the lineup needs left-handed power especially if Eloy is in it (not that he would stay in the lineup very long anyway until his next injury).

Yeah Alot has to do with inflated salaries which I agree with are too high but he needs to spend SMART.  Hahn did a lot of dumpster spending to fill the roster because the lack of young developing talent.  You can spend 100 million on 3 or 4 superstars and win if you spend 100 million on 22 more guys wisely through development and scouting.  I get sick seeing Moncadas salary but they refused to spend on a superstar for 5-10 million more per year.  We are paying 10 million plus to players not even on the roster this year

This is what blows my mind. They're okay giving money to guys that don't even contribute to wins. So many guys have been dropped from the roster due to underperformance and were still getting paid (Leury, Kuechel, and there's more), or are always injured (Yoan, Robert, Eloy) and still getting paid, or are still on the roster and contributing nothing and still getting paid handsomely (Benintendi, Grandal for a few years, etc). Money could have been spent so much better and wisely.

They should just roll with this until Eloy is back.

Vs RHP: Fletcher CF, Sosa 3B/SS, Sheets DH, AV 1B, Colas RF, Benintendi LF, Shewmake SS/3B, Lee C, Lopez 2B

vs. LHP: Grossman DH, Sosa 3B, Lee C, AV 1b, Pillar CF, Benintendi LF, DeJong SS, Colas RF, Lopez 2B

    🤢

I actually don't even mind Robert and Eloy being out. I'm happy to see Fletcher, Lee and Sosa getting any ML at-bats.

Sorry to break it to you, but it's very likely none of those guys are going to amount to anything in the league.

What a surprise! Moncada, Eloy and Robert all out injured at the same time. Before the 11th game of the season. Rinse and repeat.

Someone really needs to make a documentary out of this failed rebuild. It would be fascinating for all baseball fans if done well... and probably provide closure for us Sox fans.
