  1. I think we are getting both. Getting one increases the chance of getting the other. Sox will overpay. The y have to. But so what! Make it back on better TV deal. Mr Reinsdorf is 83! Everyone is sick of losing. Going for it!
  2. Alonso has value! It’s not like the Sox gave Drake a contract to keep LaRoche happy. Alonso is a left handed bat with pop. PLUS his brother in law and friend might want to play with him. PLUS he might be a good influence on Machado.
  3. I’m actually getting excited about our chance of getting Machado now! They seem like genuinely good friends in the video. Sox are going for it! raBBit is well known and respected I think. Well enough known to be used as a smoke screen. Machado!
  4. I still can’t figure out ignore. Ima moron. OR it is bad UI and isn’t intuitively designed.
  5. If the Dodgers were to clear salary, anyone the Sox could get that would help? I prefer Machado so, I'm not too concerned about what Bryce Heyward does.
  6. I wonder how many millions of dollars the hustle comment and the dirty play cost him? I still want him because he is better at baseball than Harper.
  7. The stats support Machado over Harper. Machado had his success in the American League. Eloy will be the face of the franchise. Sign Machado. Probably for less than Harper.
  8. Just because I've been reading this all day and thinking about it way to much, I will throw out another crazy thought. What if Machado is the target? What if the Sox are using Boras as a smokescreen the way Boras used the Sox when ARod was a free agent and signed with Texas?
  9. Actually if they have the cash, getting one would increase the odds of getting the other. There would be no doubt that they intend to compete. I would be stunned. That kind of National buzz would be good for the TV money. Mr. Reinsdorf is 83. Go for it!
  10. I might be scarred for life because of Dunn and LaRoche, but seems like a lot of money for a National League player who hit 249 last year. I’ll take Machado
  11. Appreciate the informative article! As an ex-catcher myself, the Booker stealing home made me cringe. He'd better wear some extra padding next time he faces that catcher because he's probably getting drilled. What an exciting play.
  12. How about if you intentionally walk someone, the next hitter automatically gets ball 1. People pay money to see the best hitters hit. Let them hit.
  13. QUOTE (Con te Giolito @ Jan 22, 2017 -> 01:36 PM) Why is Hahn excused for settling on Sale (a superior player to Q btw) deal that was more realistic when he won't do the same for Quintana? Because they wanted to trade Sale. They are just pretending to trade Q. Trouble makers gone. New manager. Go for it!
  14. Keep Q! Drake trouble makers are gone. New manager. Go for it! Infusion of young talent mid season will help put them over the top. I guarantee something similar to this has crossed KW's mind.
  15. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Dec 27, 2016 -> 02:34 PM) Writer Bill Madden was on MLB Now today and said that he has talked to people from both the Yankees and the White Sox and they said there have been no talks about a Quintana trade. He also said the White Sox guy told him the Sox have no inclination to move him either, unless they were to get a package GREATER than the Sale return. Proof of the fake rebuild/ get rid of Drake supporters conspiracy theory!!! /green I think
  16. I like that Hahn seems to be insisting on a good return no matter how long it takes. I have enjoyed the rumors. Happy to have some interesting Sox stuff as the Bears are depressing me.
  17. Something should happen today if the Sox demands have been met. If not, they should shut down talks until after the holidays. In my opinion, it wouldn't be right to trade a player during Christmas.
  18. QUOTE (ozzfest @ Dec 21, 2016 -> 06:20 PM) They aren't going to deal Q. The roster isn't going to be dramatically different aside from Robertson gone. That's how Reinsdorf does things. This would not shock me at all. And if that happens, it would not shock me that somehow the Sox compete. Baseball can be funny that way. All indications from Hahn point to rebuild.
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 21, 2016 -> 12:03 PM) Basically, if you trade for Glasnow, I think it puts you in a position where you have to trade one of the other starters within a year, and I don't like being forced to trade young guys to create playing time. Being forced to trade one of those guys undermines the reason for trading them. Add in Glasnow and suddenly I start switching from "it's ok, we need pitching" to "stop acquiring pitchers!" I want position players as well. I don't think having a 6th young pitcher is unreasonable though. One of the 5 we have could regress or get injured. And if they don't, Rodon could be moved since he is a Boras client and will have more service time than the others. I want Meadows or no deal with Pirates. If the deal doesn't make the Pirates say ouch, it is not good enough. I would much rather keep Q and watch him pitch than settle for a lackluster return.
  20. I would love a deal with the Pirates where the Sox actually pay some of Q's salary so that they get the best possible prospect return. It may be a better investment than a broken down veteran to flip at the deadline.
  21. Adam Eaton was my favorite current Sox player. I liked that he was not a genetic freak but made the most out of his talent with hustle and hard work. I would show replays of Eaton to my daughters (who play softball) to show them how I want them to play full speed. I was fortunate enough to go to spring training a couple of years ago and I watched Eaton sign autographs. He seemed like a cool guy. I will keep rooting for him.
  22. QUOTE (Coach @ Sep 22, 2016 -> 05:51 AM) My vote? Tom Hanks. Solid choice! He did an awesome job managing the Rockford Peaches. He also saved Private Ryan. Get him signed!
