  1. You are gonna get flamed for this post man. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Moncada. Everything is going according to plan with him. Just be patient. He will be putting up numbers that put Javy Baez to shame in two years.
  2. This team looks like it cannot wait for this season to end. I don't think they will win more than 5 games the rest of the way.
  3. Does anyone remember what it is like to watch a meaningful baseball game in September? Also, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if the Sox FO just sets their out of office email responder to turn on after Labor Day weekend every year.
  4. I don't see JR shelling out 100 million plus for any pitcher ever. The Sox rebuild was built mainly around pitching. They should use their FA $ to go after position players. They are gonna need a catcher, first baseman, third basemen, and probably a center fielder if they want to be competitive anytime soon.
  5. The White Sox used a first round pick on a third baseman in the 2017 draft. I think they will just let Yolmer play there every day until Burger is ready. Also, I don't see the White Sox adding any significant payroll this offseason. Hell, they might even shed payroll by nontendering Avi and trading Abreau and Rondon. It might be time to embrace the tank for another 2 or 3 years.
  6. Why is he still around now? Shouldn't these starts being going to guys like Stephens, Adams, Guerrero, and Fulmer?
  7. Yep. Lots of strip malls, spray tans, McMansions, and breast implants. I prefer Malibu, Silverlake, and the canyons of LA. Trout cost himself 100 million or more by signing that extension.
  8. The Angels got Mike freaking Trout to sign a contract extension and we don't think we can do the same with Eloy and Rodon?
  9. Trout will be a free agent after the 2020 season. That lines up pretty well with the Sox window...
  10. These guys are just playing out the string. Kinda like most of us on the job on Friday afternoon before a holiday weekend.
  11. Yep. Dude still hasn't played in a playoff game though. Angels FO is a clown college.
  12. You are wrong sir. No love for the Cubbies from me and tagging bathroom stalls is against the law. I called Carla for a good time back in 99 at the Rainbow on Division and Damen. Still waiting for her to call me back...
  13. I gotta disagree with this plan man. This screams half assing it to me and will most likely only result in the Sox winning 75 games or so the next few years. This team either needs to break the bank with some impact FA signings spread out over the next few offseasons or they need to trade guys like Rodon, Avi, and Jose and embrace the tank for another 2-3 years until Kopech is back at full strength and all the other prospects are ready to rock.
  14. Yoan Moncada= 1.1 WAR Edwin Jackson= 0.8 WAR Is this real life?
  15. The rebuild is most certainly not on track. It is careening and wobbling like a 50 cent carnival ride at the old Kiddieland in Melrose Park.
  16. Trading Rodon means you are punting 2019, 2020, and 2021. The goal would be to continue the tank and stockpile top 5 draft picks while guys like Moncada, Anderson, Eloy, Engel, Palka, Gio, and Lopez continue to develop at the MLB level. It would also allow time for top prospects like Cease, Burdi, Robert, Dunning, Collins,Madrigal, Adolpho, and Burger to develop. Shields could be resigned for 2019. A guy like Derek Holland or Edwin Jackson could also be signed dirt cheap for a couple years. It would also be a tryout time for guys like Guerrero, Stephens, and Adams. The rotation won't matter too much as the goal will be to continue to tank until all the prospects are ready in 2022-2023.
  17. Enough of the excuses. This team was expected to be ready to get after it in 2020. Maybe Rick Hahn and company are in over their heads and not the right guys for the job?
  18. 2020 will be year 4 of the Sox rebuild. The Cubs made it all the way to the NLCS during year 4 of their rebuild. I thought the Sox were trying to follow a similar blueprint? The Sox will have Rodon under control in 2020 and 2021. These are years that they should be competing. Rodon should be a major anchor of the rotation during those years.
  19. Hahn should be shitcanned on the spot if the Sox trade Rodon for "prospects" any time soon. The Cubs sure didn't trade away Kyle Hendricks nor did the Astros trade away Dallas Kuechel during their rebuilds. I thought we were following their models?
  20. No one is going to give up a Chris Sale type package for Carlos Rodon. The Sox have Rodon under control for 3 more years after 18. U don't think this team will be competitive at all in the next 3 years?
  21. So you are pretty much okay with punting away the 2020 and 2021 seasons? A trade of Rodon for more prospects is pretty much conceding those seasons.
  22. U guys really think this guy has had a good year and shown improvement from last year? When I look at his stats I see a barely above replacement player who has a lower wRC than heavy hitters like Alen Hanson. Nothing about this kid screams elite to me. Go watch Atlanta, NY, or the Nats if you want to see some truly elite young talent.
  23. Go move to Russia or North Korea. They love banning stuff there too.
