It's the 2nd inning and the first 2 Sox batters grounded out on the first pitch, thus showing Hahn's true talents as an evaluator of talent.

A nice run is one that excites the fan base. During the past 40-some years, there have been only 2 such runs 1977 & 2005. Making the playoffs means nothing now that it has become ridiculously easy to make the postseason as opposed to before 1969 when there was no such thing as divisions and it was all or nothing.

That's totally unrealistic given that this team only makes the playoffs only about once a decade and has done a real run only once since the end of the 1977 season.

Here's the deal: Now that the Sox can't get Machado, they need to use that money to get other quality free agents or else they risk losing much of their fan base. However, they don't seem interested in doing anything to improve the team free agent wise. The kicker is that Hahn, JR, and KW all give the impression that they are perfectly satisfied with the team as it is right now and don't see the need to do anything constructive.

Ever since losing out on Machado, Hahn has utterly failed to use any of that money to get any new free agents to improve the team.

What's really important now is that the team spends the money that it would have spent on Machado on filling in the gaps that are on the team. Failure to do so is inexcusable.

At the end of the season, there was a general consensus at least here on SoxTalk that at the very least both the manager and the hitting coach had to go. Its been over a month since then and there have been no coaching changes. Does this mean that the Sox intend to go into the new season with the same failed coaching staff as last season?

If this guy is fatigued at the minor league level, then he can't make it at the MLB level either. Cut this loser so we can focus on the players with promise.
