Hey James. Any chance these 2 take a little less and both sign with us for around 1mil? I know it’s extremely unlikely but maybe there is a chance they both want to be part of our great history with Cuban players?

I want to say thanks to the admins on this board. You guys do a really good job of making the board enjoyable. Even though some people think you’re being unfair you guys keep this place from becoming unbearable like so many other message boards. I think you do an excellent job of balancing between letting conversation happen and not letting posters ruin conversation.

I would say pro sports is doing a better job of keeping it from spreading than most of America... I could be wrong on that. Also, this is not about keeping people safe. This is about the bottom line for the owners. Just like it was last year. What does until vaccine mean? No spring training until everyone, including the fans gets it? What the owners will decide is whatever makes them the most money...

Football is playing, basketball has started again, but baseball supposedly can’t figure it out by spring training... man it feels like the owners almost trying to chase the fans away. Anything for them to save a few pennies I guess. Why does it have to be like this when we finally might be good?

Or when TA got back from an injury... but I’m sure it was the team meeting that changed things 🙄

If they go in house I hope they try to see what they have in Yermin. I mean it’s not like it’s a long experiment. See if he can be something.

Personally I would go with Yermin until Vaughn is ready. You find out if you’ve got something there. And you’re not depending on him for a long stretch of time. But I don’t think that is how it will be done.

I would suggest buying the nice stuff for your wife and kids first then see how much you have for the guitar because it sounds like there are a few you would like. I mean this is a good analogy but you ignore other guitars that could’ve been had also for a cheap price that might’ve fit in better. (But who am I to talk, my bass is a cheap Hofner rip off haha)

I have mostly loved Hahn’s moves in the rebuild. But this short sighted bargain patchwork shopping is exactly how he tried to make a winning team before the rebuild. I wish we could spend on A level younger players instead of B or C level (or old) cheap players but that is not how we do it. Saying these moves aren’t Hahn ignores how he tried to do it last time. I think the only move that wasn’t Hahn is TLR.

Didn’t say good or bad... but the trade is controversial based on the pages of people who don’t like it.

I’d really like to get Joc and Dahl. It would give us a lot of flexibility, with giving a known value and potential upside.

I never said it’s doom and gloom. We could easily not need even a really good Dunning going forward I just don’t like the value going away for the value coming in.

It is not silly... yes we get the better player now but nothing after this year. Next year they still have a pitcher and we will be looking to replace a tor. In 5 years they still have a pitcher who could be a tor and we have nothing. Like I said I get why you like it but you’re not gonna convince me to like it.

It’s not about relying on him. I can definitely see a path where he is good and we don’t even need him. I just don’t think this was worth it but I understand why others do.

For 1 year. I don’t think 6 years of Dunning is worth. Like I said I hope this doesn’t come back to bight us cuz I think that’s a very real possibility. I get why you like it but I don’t.

This has nothing to do with that trade. This is all about value NOW. To me the value of having Dunning for 6 years is much greater than Lynn for 1. I don’t think Lynn for 1 is worth it... ok??? Yes Lynn will most likely be better this year but that’s all you get. To me it’s a very short sighted move and worth booing. And bringing up the Eaton trade doesn’t change anything about how it’s looked at today. I get that some will see it differently and that’s ok. I really hope this move doesn’t come back to bight us.

Did anybody see the article on espn about the mlb suing their insurance provider for losses because of Covid? I wonder what kind of ramifications there will be if they win. Owners could no longer cry poor about the pandemic. But I would say it would also make them more willing to cancel part of next season if they know insurance will just pay for it. Will the players get a cut of it? They took losses as well? If they cancel part of next season and insurance is paying will the players still have to take a pay cut again? There are probably more consequences of this then I am thinking of.

You are wrong. I am more conservative. I had come to accept this hire, did Not like it but accepted it. I would want to get rid of ANY coach for a 2nd dui. If I have to explain to you why getting a 2nd dui is very very wrong you will never understand. And no I have never driven drunk or buzzed even so you can’t tell me everybody does. The guy is clearly not sorry if this is his 2nd time being CAUGHT. So yes I absolutely believe they should fire him.
