5 innings tonight and Sunday would be good. Sale is a major league starter. He should make all of his starts as long as the season is 162 games.

Not sure what good it does having him working on his batting practice fastball though.

Sale has absolutely nothing out there. Just shut him down, he's not winning CY

Innings like this are exactly why Chris Sale needs to pitch to the end of the season. If you ever want him to be able to go 250 in a post season, he has to be conditioned to do it.

They have a gazillion guys out there. Who really cares if Beck and Kahnle have to pitch multiple innings?

And yet earlier this season when the bullpen did get burned out, people like you whined and cried about it.

The situation now is a lot different than it was then. There's 6 meaningless games left. Who really cares if the AAAA pitchers get extra work? There's no point in trotting out our ace when he clearly has nothing.

Well he's getting traded anyways :)

I am confused. It is not uncommon for our top guys Sale, Quintana and Rodon to have a shaky inning. It's not a reason to panic . If he or the others are going to lead us into the post season next year than they have to pitch even more innings than where they are right now

Somehow, Avila has an OPS 5 points higher than Morneau.

Not sure if that argues more for Avila's OBP/viability as a starting catcher next year or that Morneau has been a bit overrated and isn't the automatic re-sign that some have been projecting (obviously his cost will increase, too).

Morneau will be back
