.@SieraSantos reports from #SoxFest2017: Hahn says another trade may be on the horizon, but he wouldn't specify beyond that.

At some point in the next year, we will probably make another trade.

QUOTE (Con te Giolito @ Jan 30, 2017 -> 06:19 PM)
There will be some benefits to having them gone, plus Robin. Now it wont make up for their on field production but in some ways the Sox will be better next year just because they got rid of those two.

It's called "addition by subtraction" but in all fairness those are two very, very good players who were traded.

Unfortunate situation brought on by the front office's inability to put a competitive team around them but under the circumstances they didn't have much of a choice, they had to do something to get out of the rut.

Interesting quote from Hahn in Rozner article:

"I think character will play a larger role now, because we'll be able to groom a lot of these guys, whether we acquire them through the draft or trade or internationally," Hahn said. "We're able to target a certain type of guy, and we'll have them younger so we'll be able to bring out of them the kind of character we'd like to see in terms of clubhouse presence and the way he plays the game."

#WhiteSox sign LHP Tyler Matzek to a minors deal. The 2009 first-rounder pitched for #Rockies in 2014-15 but spent 16 as reliever in minors

Rick Hahn says they aren't bringing anyone else in and then sign a former 1st round pick, smh, make up your mind Rick.

Interesting story you can Google on Tyler. Suffers from severe performance anxiety which derailed a very promising start to his major league career with the Rockies. Condition is similar to Greinkes. Best of luck to Tyler as he confronted this head on

I believe he had the caveat "...unless there is an injury" and report from Chicago media earlier this winter was that White Sox would bring in another starter if there was a trade to ensure the young arms aren't rushed up to fill a hole. Although a minors deal and with Rodon speculation (which has proven to be nothing)...take your pick.

I'm not sure he was serious in his post.

Also, gotta factor in that they're going to lose some depth due to the WBC so there will be extra playing time out there.
