But as for the bolded, no. It's not exactly common, but there are all sorts of cases of mixed chromosomes.

Sure, but intersex is distinct from transgender. I may be wrong, but I would imagine most transgender people do not have any chromosomal abnormality when it comes to their sex.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 7, 2017 -> 09:02 PM)
Far from an expert, but I think epigenetics plays a role in both sex and gender determination.

That seems totally reasonable to me. How are you defining gender?

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 7, 2017 -> 09:02 PM)
edit: it was this series from PBS 9 months that made you which is available on Netflix. The episode about the transgendered girl is episode 2.

Thanks.

With all the discrimination that still exists in society today...try to imagine a son or daughter deliberately provoking confrontation and "being threatening to others," why would any sane/logical/rational person choose that difficult path?

Great post. But my take is basically in response to the criminals/crazies who might want to prey on people by saying simply, "I identify as a female" and go into the women's room. Heaven forbid, in the not so distant history of my own Catholic religion, we have people who chose professions just to be close to kids so they could prey on them. I've heard the saying a million times that life isn't fair. If you have male private parts shouldn't you have to go to the men's room? Why are we discriminating here the other way or at least be escorted in there? What if it's my lifelong goal to prey on kids. Wouldn't this be another way to do so if you had a sick mind??

The big deal is the one you are making. These people just want to take a piss or s*** and you want them to make sure they walk into the "correct" bathroom due to which private parts you have.

And it's even more interesting that this comes from the same guy who wouldn't even walk into the same subway with someone who was either transgendered or a cross dresser. So, instead you want to share a bathroom with a cross dresser or transgendered man. Makes total sense

a.) I'm surprised nobody agrees with me. I just feel like it's not too much to ask people to use the bathroom of their genetic makeup. Maybe we need to just simply change the bathroom setup across America and allow only one person in at a time to make sure we don't step on anybody's rights. Inconvenience, yes, but this is kind of a non sequitir allowing people with male parts into female bathrooms. Makes little sense.

2.) Yes when walking into the Subway at the same time as the cross dresser with high heels and a dress I made that decision to not eat there that night. I hadn't walked in yet. I wouldn't be rude enough to leave if I had already been in there like the other time. I know it can be painful for a person with male private parts who identifies as a female. I heard from Bruce Jenner and have read the suicide rate is very high. Of course I feel badly about that. If it saves lives then I'm all for changing the bathrooms and having just one person go in at a time. Anybody experiencing mental anguish deserves relief that is for sure. But we also have to keep those who prey on kids at bay.

Why not do what I suggest? We must have a system now in which one person at a time and only one are allowed in bathrooms to make sure we satisfy everybody's rights here.

What about a coach of the girls' hs volleyball team being a lesbian, the wrestling or football coach a pedophile or gay man? How can you protect them then? Isn't it much more likely something might happen in a shared shower than a public bathroom?

Do we have any examples of all these bathroom assaults going on to point to?

What about changing rooms in clothing stores (the ones not yet wiped out by Amazon.com)? Couldn't they be just as alluring for attackers?

Yeah this all could happen. I just don't understand why the bathroom thing is such a big deal. in my proposal, we only have private bathrooms where one goes in at a time. This way a person who is dressed as a woman but has not yet had the surgery and is still legally a man will have the same rights as I do. This is the only way to go IMO. Why do we have bathrooms for genders? We must change it all asap because like I said many are not in favor of allowing males who identify as being female as being allowed in the women's bathroom while still legally a male.

You can ask Penn State. I think they might have an example or lots.

Because where do you put all of these bathrooms in large spaces like concert halls or movie theaters or sports stadiums.

Here's another thought: if you have bathrooms open to all, then there are more people in them preventing less attacks because of the constant traffic. OR, if a woman or someone is being attacked, there's less of a stigma of "going into the (opposite sex) bathroom" to help.

Just because there are separate bathrooms doesn't mean that stuff you have been talking about doesn't happen, by the way. If you don't like it, fine. That's your preference. You can go search out the family bathrooms, which are usually one person, and then get nasty looks from a mom of a 6 month old leaking out their diaper.

Remember when during the election the fake news media tried to make it look like Trump supporters were violent and attacking people at rallies and the left demanded everyone disavow? Where is the left now that we know the entire time it is dems that are violently attacking anyone with differing opinions? Antifa is a legitimate domestic terror organization trying to destroy free speech and the left is silent all of a sudden? We have reached hilarious levels of hypocrisy in the past 3 months, which is why dems got pumped up and down the ballot, and will continue to do so.

PizzaGate is real, still? Speakers included Lauren Southern, a Canadian activist who has said rape affects men more than women, and AltRight.com writer Brittany Pettibone, who has said she believes in Pizzagate, a discredited conspiracy theory involving Hillary Clinton.

At ant rate, they're not members of the Democratic Party any more than the KKK and Alt-Right are members of the GOP.

Clinton was a terrible candidate. The Dems will easily win back the House in two years the way things are going. For any traditional/mainstream or conservative GOPer Trump is picking up recently, he's losing two or three that supported his America First (anti military intervention, anti China/Mexico) agenda which has now been completely abandoned.

Those middle class members will be quick to flip back when they've seen no improvements in their standard of living.

And extrapolating two protests in California, where they deliberately tried to provoke and bait the far left/anarchists isn't going to mean much of anything to those in the Midwest and Rust Belt.

Also. I will be back to laugh in your face when the dems come nowhere close to winning back the house. Just like I told you sheep that Hillary simply couldnt be president and you all laughed. You may want to look how many seats dems have up in the midterms lol

Who cares if people are inconvenienced? We should go one at a time into all bathrooms even in stadiums. The liberal agenda wants to help out those people who identify as females but still have male body parts and want to go into the female bathroom. Fine. One at a time in all bathrooms. If it inconveniences anybody too bad. We have to cater to all people so the bathrooms must be reconstructed NOW.

Yes, and how much of that was simply based on opposing ObamaCare? He is no longer president, so obstructing him no longer works as a functional strategy. Is there any evidence the GOP can actually govern well with control of all branches of government? Not so far.

Which presidents in history have gained seats at midterms in recent memory?

The Dems won't get the Senate back, but the House is definitely up for grabs regardless of the number of gerrymandered seats that are largely out of play.

FYI every house seat is up every two years. I don't think even the most optimistic people think they have a shot at the Senate in 2018 though.

Post 9/11 and the Dems didn't yet have a clear way to go after GW Bush.

Clinton/Morris tacked so far to the center that the Republicans didn't have a counter, plus Dole got obliterated...and the Gingrich Revolution of 1994 overreached big time.

But do you disavow antifa? While were at it, the left needs to face the fact that ALL of the violence going on at these protests is on them.

Lmao. "All the violence".

The leader of a white supremacist group has reportedly been caught on video punching a woman in the face at the pro-Trump rally in UC Berkeley.

Antifa is good, btw.

Consider it a 'blow' for equality. She stepped into the playing field, abandoning the protections afforded by the traditional customs of interactions between gentlemen and ladies. She went looking for a fight, and got one. Just because she has a vagina doesn't give her a free pass. Doesn't matter who the hitter was.

I'm against hitting punching women in the face and neo-nazi. Especially when those two things are combined.

So I guess we are going to disagree on that one.

Here's the woman who got punched.

Obviously it's wrong to hit women but women also shouldn't go to violent left wing rallies looking to scalp people and participate in moshpits. I mean it's their right of course, but it's tough to feel bad when they came with the intention of violence.

Isn't that just quoting Inglorious Basterds, where Brad Pitt's character told them to bring back 100 Nazi scalps?
