Carlos Sanchez is now Yolmer Sanchez

Recommended Posts

I noticed his name a few years ago when I looked him up during winter ball. Threw me off at first when I saw his name listed as Yolmer but once I saw his face I knew I had found the guy I was looking for.

I believe Sanchez is out of options. I think either he or Lawrie will be traded in spring training.

Neither are long for the White Sox. Moncada coming. Maybe Lawrie at 3B, probably not, but you certainly aren't putting Sanchez there, and I don't know if he is really utility material. I'd rather have a more shortstopy type. Sanchez can play SS but I think it's best you have a guy who really is a SS defensively but plays the rest as a back up when they contend.

You are correct. He is out of options. Initially added to the 40 man at the end of 2013 to protect him from the rule 5 draft.

What if Yolmer is like 100 times better than Carlos?

Then he will almost be replacement level.

Going off his WAR from last year, 0.0 x 100 = 0.0 lol

I am optimistic with this change:

Carlos = Luis Alejandro Basabe

Yolmer = Luis Alexander Basabe

Come opening day I do not think Hawk will have to worry about it.
