The first person, singular imperfect conjugation of the verb Basar, is basaba, which is pronounced; bah-sah-bah. The only difference in his name is the 'e' ending, which is always pronounced like a long 'A' or 'ay'. So, it should be bah-sah-bay. I'm sending this message from my winter home in Costa Rica, where I have spent at least 1/2 of each year, for the last 28 years. That's how my Costa Rican friends would pronounce it.
