Meanwhile, baseball viewing/ratings should increase dramatically with this new avenue to growing the game. Young people, in particular, with a love of statistics/analysis will be drawn to it because of the extreme amount of data baseball generates compared to all the other major sports. Higher engagement with fans. Higher advertising and sponsorship deals. Higher everything. ... Now? The league (NFL) has money to make and so much of it that whatever remains of the protests against the league is likely to fade or be completely meaningless. In 1919 it is alleged that several members of the White Sox took bribes from gamblers to throw the 1919 World Series, so that gamblers could bet on the winning team. They were nicknamed the "Black Sox" after this, and the players in question were banned from baseball. Caulfield's posting style usually involves listing everything remotely relevant, or not, on a subject. There was probably very little influence of a 1919 team on politics in the early 1990s when the most recent version of the casino legislation was passed. Also might interest you to know that Ken Berry who was a White Sox CF and my favorite player as a very young man has a bit part in EMO . His IMDb profile says "heckler" but I can't remember if that is accurate.
