I didn't say I think they are doing it for no reason, I am surprised the premium the white sox have been paying to college second round picks. Look at the past two years:

The amount the sox are paying their second round picks stands out considering they have picked college players.

Oh I 100% agree, it’s a very unique strategy whatever they are doing.

So for the 2nd year in a row the Sox has offered the most signing bonus to college guys drafted after the 1st round, guys who aren't universally viewed as first rounders. It isn't just slightly overslot, they're over by a huge amount. In Sheet's case, that could be late 2nd/ early 3rd money to a HS kid.

Thanks. Does that push Laz to 2B?

Think you are going to see more rotational fun with Forbes, Laz, Madrigal, and Yrizarri. We will also see the accompanying wondering if one of them is injured whenever they don't play a game.

I had a good chuckle when i saw this tweet the first time. "The Sox will sign Madrigal, at some point, for some bonous amount". The hell? He literally reported nothing.

The funniest part to me is that some website said the signing was official and it was for slot and that tweet was their source. I just had to shake my head because that tweet literally says neither of those things.

Which means the Sox are done with signing players.

No it doesn't. They are $199,000 over the pool. They can still sign Davis Martin for up to like $450K without losing a pick next year. Just would have to pay overage tax.

I didn't elaborate enough there, but mainly referring to the late HS picks and not Martin.
